very cowardly to leave that other forum, and come here and keep bringing it up.

Syd has to be "on that other forum" to bring up the fact that you are a whiny bitch?

I doubt mjp or tia will mind someone saying that about you on this forum. I'm sure they agree.

Temperature of the beer, colors of the uniforms, shape of the scoreboard…you know important shit like that.

    1. The beer could always be colder

    2. The orange is a weird shade now. Thanks, Haslams.

    3. Looks like Tennessee BECAUSE THE HASLAMS ARE GOING TO MOVE THE TEAM RABBLE RABBLE!

    There, done.

Valid point. It seemed like Lamar has gotten out of that run first mentality but he doesn't seem like someone who is going to defer to someone else when the game is on the line. If he sees a lane, he's going to run. That's going to take touches away from Henry.

How is Lamar going back into the pocket to pass, seeing a lane open and deciding to run instead "taking touches away from Henry"?

Seems to me that would take possible touches away from his receivers.

At least apparently he's an extremely solid locker room guy. I could believe that to be true based on his personality.

To me this reeks of two things:

    1) At the end of the day, Winston's game is very similar to what we saw Flacco do last season. High Risk, high reward (a la Favre) mentality. Candidly,  I see it strictly from a talent standpoint as a slight upgrade and of course a much younger player. Also, just being blunt Flacco gave me major "Fitzmagic" vibes. I get a strong feeling the FO felt the same way.

    2) Don't underestimate this move being a sneaky way of protecting Watson. If QB1 comes out next year and looks crappy, the fan base would be rioting to have Flacco put in the game. Just won't happen with famous Jameis.

Good points, and my buddy who texted me that the Browns signed him made the same point that apparently Winston is really well-liked with his teammates.

And yes, you nailed it, there aren't going to be "WE WANT WINSTON!" chants at the Browns Stadium after the first incomplete pass by Watson, so there's that.

I'd much rather have Flacco, but there is the fun of the faux outrage from the Selective Morality Contigent that lives over on another forum and visits this forum from time to time, and that's always fun to witness, so there's that too... 🤣

And there's always the chance that Flacco is holding out hope someone gives him a legit shot at starting again... I just don't see it, but you never know.

  5. So Hines is a decent, versatile backup/depth RB.

He's not going to blow your proverbial doors off, but he can run, receive and return kicks, and he's only 27.

He did miss the entire 2023 season due to a leg injury he suffered last July while jet skiing.

    Titty sprinkles.

Grateful to see some of the signings, though I have my concerns.

    - ZDS and his knees holding up all season. Upside, he's our most consistent player in sliding edge to interior where he brings additional value.

    - Mo Hurst finishing a season healthy.

    - NFL not up'ing the active roster spots to account for the 17 game schedule.  This hurts the bigs more than anybody. Which is why I believe OL and DL depth is at a premium.

It's almost like, and work with me on this, continuing to add length to a pro football schedule is a bad idea.

Quantity over quality. I'd roll it back to 14 regular season games if I was King of the NFL.

$4m a year sounds spot on for a position that Berry doesn’t usually put much resources into.

Very true, but he's going to have go come up with some cash if he wants to keep his best draft pick to date - JOK.

Nice work!  The guys in bold above from rounds 3-5 nail some big needs as do your last 2 guys.  You may get some feedback from guys wanting a LBer 1st - but we'll have to wait and see who is available at pick #54.

I wanted the kid from The Cheaters Up North, but Colson was predicted to be a 2nd round pick, and that went out the window when I traded down. Almost took Ohio State's Tommy Eichenberg, but I wanted Cade Stover more and didn't want to get all OSU homer on my mock... then I realized that somehow I mocked us getting two Utah Utes.

    TWO UTES!

  9. Alright boys... I picked up a trusty Lindy's Draft Guide this morning at the local grocery store, so let me throw out a mock draft. I channeled my inner Andrew Berry and traded down from the 2nd round pick to the 3rd round, picking up a 4th for my troubles.

3rd Round: DT Ruke Orhorhoro, Clemson. 6'4", 290lbs. Very good pass rusher from inside, needs polish vs run game.

3rd Round: Safety Cole Bishop, Utah. 6'2", 209lbs. Rangy safety better vs pass than run.

4th Round: TE Cade Stover, Ohio State. 6'4", 251lbs. Solid as a receiver and a blocker.

5th Round: OG Sataoa Laumea, Utah. 6'4", 311lbs. Experienced, 44 college starts. Speed over power.

6th Round: OT Julian Pearl, Illinois. 6'6", 315lbs. Very good athlete, but raw.

7th Round: ILB Nathaniel Watson, Mississippi State. 6'2", 247lbs. Stout vs the run, limited athlete.

Sometimes a mock draft kind of falls into your lap, where need meets value, but this one took a while to flesh out. Still, I feel like I addressed needs with decent players.

I'd say the big 3 involved are LB, IOL + IDL.  Swing tackle for later rounds now that Jed's contract has been restructured.

That said, the more I think about it, the more I think @Flugel also has the pulse of it as well - don't rule out DB.  Our safety play was pretty tragic at times, no more so than against Houston.  Ronnie Hickman hasn't improved on his struggles at tOSU and those early "elite" grades from PFF had people really in a false sense of security about his abilities.

LB, OG/C and DT are my main focuses too, along with another Tackle.

But you definitely can never count out the Browns under Berry going DBack. Fo sho.
