  1. It’s still Browns plus 6

From Tuesday's Yahoo Sports, interesting read........

Last Dance for the Chiefs? Not really. As long as Patrick Mahomes is under center, you can pretty much Sharpie the Chiefs into the playoffs. Question is, after this year, who’s around Mahomes to play in that game? Mahomes’ half-billion-dollar deal begins next year, and that means he takes a huge bite out of the Chiefs’ payroll. Will they be able to build a strong team at a discount rate, or is this the Chiefs’ last, best chance to snag another ring?

The Class of 2018 graduates. It’s go time for the quarterbacks in the Class of 2018 — that would be Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson and, if you’re feeling generous, Sam Darnold. One other first-rounder, Josh Allen, has already made bank, and another, Josh Rosen, is on something like his 43rd team already. But Allen’s deal set the bar high; will Cleveland and Baltimore be willing to match it? And will Darnold stick around in Carolina? We’re nearing a decision point on QB salaries; could it come with the Class of 2018?

    Last dance for KC.....

    mahomes

hill, Kelce, Chris Jones, Clyde edwards hellfire, mecole Hardman, the whole line, Snead....Bolton, gay....all back in 2022. That’s the core.  Writers are lazy.

I beg your pardon. Miller sat out all of last year and I saw them play the Broncos in person at Denver in 2018 and they beat the Broncos 27-23 only because a 50 yards P.I. was called on a play in the last two minutes that started well after the playclock had expired (but was not called).

The playclock on the field is for the fans.  The refs keep the official time on the field.

Also...interesting that you remember a 50 yard PI that didn't happen.  In fact Denver only had 3 penalties for a total of 25 yards in the whole game.  Maybe you should check the gamelog here.....and see if that jogs your memory a little better.  https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201810010den.htm

  3. You are delusional.  When Mahomes has had a healthy line against the likes of Von Miller and Bradley Chubb (the best passrush duo in the league....just ask any bronco fan!)  ...or when he had a healhty line VS the Tampa Front during the regular season..Mahomes TORE THEM APART.  Unless the Chiefs are starting a 2nd string LT, a 3rd string RT a and a couple 2nd and 3rd string guards...there hasn't been a defense that stops Mahomes.

You all need to worry about what your offense can do to score enough.  Your Defense isn't winning the game.....and niether is Baker Mayfield.

If Clowney is a fraud why did teams double team him at the highest rate of any edge player in 2019 AND 2020?

This Sunday I’d be more concerned with your new offensive line coming together than we should be concerned about Clowney…but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I’ll be excited when the Browns win Sunday…but I’m concerned that the Browns are healthy and peaking when we play each other in the  AFC Championship game.

.....because he played for 2 teams that didn't have any other notable DL.  If you bring 4 you can double someone....and on Seattle and Tennessee, he was the best option.  ....I love how you guys think now it will be different!  As if there isn't YEARS of tape showing him to be a mediocre player.

I'll tell you ^^ Our defense is better & so will be Chubb & Hunt in this rematch. OBJ will get his too..

The Go-rodge is clean enough to winterize da-boat.. 😳 (it was a hang-over hell)

1.) Last match-up... Chubb 13/69 yrds. & Hunt 6/32 rushing. .. Oddly.. Hunt was only targeted once in passing attempts 1/1. Chubb was targeted, 5 times with 3 drops with 2 catches..we'll need more rushing attempts & yards than the last match-up. Schwartz & D. Felton... here your clue, to take the bulls by the horns 😤 .. move the chains, early & late..

2.) Landry has lost 8 lbs. Reported as "getting some of his speed/quickness back for this season". OBJ back, playing off his injury, is still better than not playing at all as last time..That should take away 2 good corners.. (Charvarius Ward/ L'Jarius Sneed or Mike Hughes)

I'm not a big fan of Baker testing KC's safeties Tyrann Mathieu or Juan Thornhill either.. Baker needs to play keep away from these 2.. Choose wisely with your eyes & other weapons..

3.) This Browns defense, can't be as god awful as our last trip to KC was.. Garrett with Clowney need to hem in the QB gnat as Tampa did. Wood's blitzing said gnat, just creates holes & seams in coverage.. I'd test KC's interior OL with some good DT play.. Keep our LB'ers clean & this time were tackling  Edwards-Helaire, Clyde 20/1.. It may take two? but for god sake's.. Please wrap his wheels up..

I feel better going into this rematch with JJ3 & Troy Hill on the field too.. It's Newsome, Greedy & Ward staying healthy thru out the game, is my only worry-some.

Were containing Kelsey/ Reek Hill & Hardman with Helaire, to 27 points or under... tBrowns will win this game.. My Final- Browns 33   KC- 26

    1.  Clowney is a fraud.

    2.  "as Tampa did"???  What....you mean they dominated the 2nd and 3rd string turnstiles we had to put out there?  I love how everything thinks Tampa had a "blueprint" to show how you beat Mahomes.....the Chiefs dominated them in the regular season, when KC had a relatively healthy O line.  Even with 5 all new starters....who I am sure will have some issues as they gel....is still a FAR FAR superior group than what they rolled out on Super Bowl Sunday.  Mahomes doesn't need a perfect line to be great...he doens't need a good line to be great...he needs some semblance of an adequate line, and he can dismantle anyone.  You'll see soon enough.

  6. This is the best thing I've ever seen.  LOL

You guys went 5-3 in those 8 games including a loss to the JETS.  You guys also played a collection of some of the worst defenses over that 8 games.  ....and of course, in a playoff game VS Kc, in wich Mahomes left early in the third quarter...you guys generated 17 points, and 300 total yards of offense.

Baker, in his 2 starts VS Mahomes in the NFL is 0-2

  7. NFC EAST

    1. Washington Football Team (WFT has strong enough D and skill players that Fitz can guide them to win this weak division)

    2. Dallas Cowboys (Talent is there to win, coaching is not.)

    3. NY Giants. (They will finally realize Daniel Jones isn't it.)

    4. Philadelphia Eagles. (Jalen Hurtz is meh, with too much uncertainty and questionable coaching)

    NFC NORTH

    1. Green Bay Packers (clearly the best roster in a bad division, and Rodgers is still awesome)

    2. Chicago Bears (Made playoffs 2 of last 3 years with Trubisky, They'll let Dalton eat some L's VS hard competiton to start year, then Fields takes over and gets some Ws)

    3. Minnesota Vikings (Team is more talented than 3rd place in divsion, but I think Zimmer's message falls flat and locker room loses respect for Cousins, they underachieve)

    4. Detroit Lions (They will be a try hard team, with no where near enough talent to win much.  Goff sucks)

    NFC SOUTH

    1.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers (The band is back together and this time, they'll start the season running the Brady offense and not Arians bombs away attack. They'll be a tough out)

    2. New Orleans (Jameis Winston, running short pass attack with some deep shots mixed in...will be better than people think.  Payton can still coach.)

    3. Atlanta Falcons (They had statistically awful luck in close games..they'll regress to the mean and win about 7 games and look like the Titans doing it.)

    4. Carolina (more or less a tie with Atlanta.  D is still young and I am not convinced that Darnold is it....hard team to read...better than 4th if McCaffrey plays all 17 games)

    NFC WEST

    1. San Francisco 49ers (deep roster, good skill players, good QB to start, and a better one waiting to start.  tough division, but 49ers edge with depth.)

    2. LA Rams (Stars and JAGS approach with Stafford running McVay offense I think will work out well.  This team was 9-7 with bad QB play last year)

    3. Seattle Seahawks (such a hard division....Seahawks will have to overcome their meh defense most weeks.  WIlson will have to carry them in playoffs if they are to win)

    4. Arizona Cardinals (Brutal schedule, and brutal division.  For all the hype, coach Bro and Kyler Murray haven't been able to produce a dynamic O, and D isn't great either)

    NFC Playoff seeding

    1. Green Bay

    2. Tampa Bay

    3. San Francisco

    4. Washington

    5. LA Rams

    6. Seattle

    7. New Orleans

    TB over NO

    SF over Seattle

    RAMS over Washington

    RAMS over GB

    SF over TB

    RAMS over SF

    NFC Champion LA RAMS

    AFC EAST

    1. Buffalo Bills (By far and away the best team in this division, and with improved pass rush, a legit title contender)

    2. NE Patriots (Roster is better with alot of covid opt outs, now back, QB situation is in flux and better, but team will need to win with D)

    3. Miami Dolphins (good and deep roster, but will only go as far as Tua can take them.  Not enough efficient deep pass plays to get over the top.  too much dink and dunk)

    4. NY Jets (Wilson will take some lumps but show he is a legit QB....the roster is still a few more seasons of churn away from being competitive.)

    AFC NORTH

    1. Cleveland Browns (Cleveland will use the tried and true power run game, limit turnovers, and play good D, to win the division)

    2. Baltimore Ravens (The secrew to Lamars MVP success was having 2 awesome TE's. not more WR's etc.  They don't have 2 TE's.  Jackson can't pass.  Too one diminsional)

    3. Cincinnatti Bengals (A healthy Joe Burrow makes or breaks this team.  They can make a little noise if he's healthy....a big if)

    4. Pittsburg Steelers (I have no faith in Big Ben having anything left, nor any faith in their O line.  I think they bottom out and start a mini rebuild next year)

    AFC SOUTH

    1. Tennessee Titans (the core of a good team is all back...and the division sucks...would help if they could find a pass rush)

    2. Jacksonville Jaguars (Part of finsihing 2nd in the divison is that I think the Colts will be bad...if they can halfway block on offense, they should be OK)

    3. Indianapolis Colts (a decent roster, with a bunch of QB's I don't have any faith in.  I think Wentz just aint it.  They aren't good enough to win despite the QB)

    4. Houston Texans (A real threat to go 0-17.  Worst roster in the NFL...and it's one of he oldest as well.  It will be YEARS of roster building to get back to being competetive)

    AFC WEST

    1. Kansas City Chiefs (key to season is completely new O Line.  IF KC can use entire playbook on any spot on field, down and distance...will be very hard to stop them)

    2. LA Chargers (pretty good roster, and expected ascension of Herbert...Chargers should be solid across the board.  Need to stay healthy)

    3. Denver Broncos (good roster except QB and right side of O line.  Those are bad places to suck though...easiest schedule in NFL..could get them to 9-10 wins)

    4. Las Vegas Raiders (The team just can't get out of 6-11 mode.  Don't draft or roster build well enough...fix one area, and get worse in another.  Shallow depth)

    AFC Playoffs

    1. Kansas City (that week 5 Bills/Chiefs matchup is HUGE!)

    2. Bills

    3. Titans (benefit from being in week division)

    4. Browns

    5. Chargers

    6. Ravens

    7. Patriots

    Bills OVER Patriots

    Titans OVER Ravens

    Chargers OVER Browns

    Chiefs OVER Chargers

    Bills OVER Titans

    Chiefs over Bills

    Super Bowl

    Chiefs over Rams.

  8. Vs Minnesoata tonight. KC's 1's on O, vs Min 1's on D.  2 drives, 2 TD.

    Minny 1's on O VS KC 1's on D.  2 drives, 1 FG and 1 3 and out.

KC looked strong.  probably a better team than the teams that made the last 2 super bowls.

Not going to be a good day for the Browns on opening day.  You'll need 35+ to pull the upset.

So Vegas thinks you have a 3 point better team.

Seeing as you represented the AFC in the Super Bowl the last two years and beat us in the playoffs last year, that seems fair.

You seem like that guy that starts talking loud when he gets nervous.

    Z

It's all good Z....looking forward to that week 1 game.....should be interesting.

  10. Regarding Jones.....he IS athletic enough and fast enough to make it work on the outside.  He will be out at end quite a bit, but not always.  We don't lose anything when he's there.  He wouldn't be there if we hadn't signed Jarran Reed....KC also feels the depth at DT is strong so Jones at End is going to be a thing.  It's looked good so far.  PS...the Cardinals went 3 and out in their first 6 or so drives with their 1's vs our 1's.  KC's defense will be improved from last year when it was decent and good VS the pass.   this year will be better.  its a better overall group.

Also, I am not oblivous to the fact that Cleveland has the leagues best O-line.  I am not trying to say Cleveland sucks.  Far from it.  You should win your divison, win a lot of games and very well could meet us again in the playoffs.  For as good and promising as your team is....I am just saying KC is still better and week 1, AT KC is going to be a rough day.

  11. Vegas has this game at KC -6.

Only SF At Detroit (Det +7.5)

and Chi At Rams (LA +7)

    Have bigger spreads.

Vegas thinks the difference in talent between KC and Cleveland is about the same as the difference in talent between Chi and the Rams.  I don't think you fine Browns fans appreciate just how loaded KC is.....and like most fan bases, you overestimate your own dudes. ....I don't do that....Vegas and I clearly think very highly of the Chiefs.

Week 1 won't be fun for you.

  12. Wow...you guys sure remember that game alot differently the most people.

KC was up 19-3 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter wich is about when Mahomes went out.  KC was up 16-3 when the endzone fumble thing happend.

KC finished with 438 total yards to Clevelands 308.  KC also outrushed Cleveland 123 to 112....  Cleveland was also 3 for 3 on 4th down ...and still couldn't generate any yards.

    That was "toe to toe"?

  13. Zombo asked me to elaborate further about KC's D and why it should be better.

    In no particular order.

KC signed Jarran Reed.  This has allowed Chris Jones to move to DE on most downs, and then back inside on obvious passing downs.  That has looked good in preseason.  KC has also seen the emergence of Tershawn Wharton at DT.  Keep that name in mind.  Of course Frank Clark situation isn't a plus....but as that stands now, he'll be playing week 1.

The emergence of LB Willie Gay.  Gay was KC's 2nd rounder last year.  Had a lot of first round grades, but he was the guy who got in trouble for punching his own QB at Miss ST. as some of you may recall.  The covid/no camp/no offseason slowed him up as Spagnuolo's D is somewhat complicated, but he's up to speed now and is making plays and shows up in coverage...something KC has lacked at LB.  He is a substantial upgrade over Wilson, who started there last year.

In the Secondary, you've probably heard of La Jarious Sneed...he's good and will play more.  KC also traded to get Mike Hughes at CB, former 1st round draft pick from the Vikings and last year we picked up D'andre Baker, former Giants 1st rounder.  Both, have looked good...especially Hughes, who may start.

The most important thing to note here is that Jones is going to be move around, and there is more depth on the D line...and the LB position is faster and offers more coverage ability.  I'm not telling you it's a leaps and bounds type improvement..KC had a decent D last year....it will be a little better than last years unit.

I'd continue to point out that the O'line is going to be the story of the Chiefs season....being able to run and having teams know we can run....will be HUGE.  Don't be surprised if KC rolls out a lot of two TE, or RB/FB sets and do wild and crazy things out of those to great effect.

I am most definitely a biased Chiefs homer, but I am not beyond being objective about my team. (losing Bashaud Breeland at CB does suck and Clarks stupid ass doesn't help)  ....I'm not trying to be an A hole....but Cleveland isn't going to have a good time week 1.

Keep in Mind Andy Ried with Mahomes is undefeated in September.  He has them ready to go when it's time to go.

  14. The starting O line for KC is much more likely to be

    LT Brown

    LG Thuney

    C Humphrey

    RG T. Smith

    RT. Niang.

It will take some time to get chemistry whoever they roll with, but the talent upgrade across the board will outweigh that 10 fold.

This line is going  to be outstanding.  Trey Smith will prove to be the steal of the entire draft.
