  1. Again...congratulations to you guy for making the postseason and getting that first playoff win a long time.  You guys have suffered a long time and deserve some happiness.

This has all the trappings of a game where Cleveland is "just happy to be here" having won a +5 TO game on the road to get all the monkeys off the back.

This is a game where KC writes the script for all those "what Cleveland needs to do this offseason" articles that will be written next week.

Regardless of how it turns out, the Browns will leave it all out on the field - they do NOT quit. Of course, the Chiefs have a star studded offense. Mahomes is amazing. So is Baker. The Chiefs have arguably the best TE in football, Kelce, and one of the fastest wrs in Hill.

and...Watkins is dangerous. He was a 4th overall draft pick by the Bills about 7 yrs ago. If the Browns win - a world of credit will go to the defense I think - the Chiefs offense is seriously talented. but so are the Browns.

Defensively - we'll see whose defense wins the day.

Browns advantage - Chubb and Hunt. Their defense won't stop them.

I believe this game will be another blockbuster - people will remember it for a long time.

Interesting - Joe Thomas is really excited about the Browns chances:

LOL @ joe Thomas.  .....I love the narrtive that KC has played all these one score games as if they ALMOST lost them....up by two scores very late in all of them...and the other team gets a late garbage time score to pull within a score and onside kick etc....  KC beat the Saints, on the  road, the Bucs, on the Road, the Ravens, on the Road, and the Bills....on the road....all playoff teams...all still playing..and all road wins.

Congratulations to you guys for making the playoffs and winning against the Steelers on the road....I don't want to diminish that...but that's as good as it's going to get this year.

Yea, we know.  But....FYI....the Browns WILL show up.  You WILL have to play them.  You have not been given another bye.

Look at how many times the Browns have scored  35 or more points  6 times  this year. ...and another game with 34 pts.   So don't think that the Browns can't score points either.

You were plus 16 in turnover margin in your games over 30.  KC lost the turnover margin only twice all year...the won both games anyhow.

  4. Cleveland, runs the ball.  you are a running team....and why shouldn't you be, you have 2 very good RB.  Stefanski has made you viable by turning Baker Mayfield into the next Alex Smith....just manage the game, hand off...don't throw picks.  Win the TO battle.  That's a winning formula in the regular season. ....and if you come up agasint a team that is going to turn it over 4 times in the 1st Q and spot you a 28-0 lead....that should work.

It's worth reminding you, KC was down 24-0 after 1 Q VS Houston last year.  We led 28-24 at halftime.  We lost the TO battle.  Pat Mahomes renders alot of conventional wisdom and stats meaningless.

  5. Here is how your Sunday is going to go.

    you will be crushed.

Cleveland, having invested a lot of emotion and energy into their first playoff win in decades, vs long time rival Pittsburg, is going to come into KC vs a well rested Chiefs team that was 10 in points allowed.  Cleveland spent their whole wad vs the Steelers.

You will look at KC’s defensive rankings and think to yourself that Cleveland should be able to run VS the Chiefs based on those rankings.

What you don’t see in those rankings is that most of those runs come as teams are trailing and KC is playing pass defense.  KC has allowed the fewest receptions to WR’s in the NFL this year.....a major accomplishment considering teams are usually playing from behind.

It might also be noteworthy that KC had a game where they turned the ball over 4 times in the first half, lost the TO battle 4-0 for the game.  They led at halftime.

Pat Mahomes has never walked off a football field after playing 4 quarters of playoff football, with his team losing.

KC, with Pat Mahomes, is 2-0 in PLAYOFF games in wich the opponents block a punt and return it for a TD.

    KC is not Pittsburgh.

..... to play a game. All while teachers, nurses, police officers, firemen and trash collectors all have to live a 90 minute drive away from the cities they work in because they can't afford to live in the places they serve.

What's even crazier is if the owner can sign his name on that pay check, what must he be making?

Enjoy that $25 parking, $12 hot dog, $16 beer and $150 seat the next time you root on your heroes.

...no.....to bring in REVENUE.  teachers and nurses are in relative abundance...you can find qualified people do all those jobs for X dollars.  If you couldn't, you'd have to offer more pay to find qualified poeple to do those things....simple economics.......

Also, the PARKING at Arrowhead stadium has been WAY WAY WAY beyond 25 for years..it's been 60 or so since I can remember....again, supply and demand...tailgating at Arrowhead is an awesome experience.....they overfill the lot at 60 as it is.  The hot dog, beer etc....no one cares....if you aren't full of BBQ and drunk off your ass by gametime then you must be really late to your tailgate party.  (PS, beers and dogs aren't that much at arrowhead...they know they get their bread buttered by the golden goose that is the parking lot)

Last....don't know who among you hear has spent any considerable time in KC...but it is extremely affordable and has more lanes of hiway per captia than any city in the US (yes, that is a real stat)  ....you can get damn near anywhere in the entire metro by car in under 30 minutes. no matter where you live.

Good points. The reality now is can a family of four attend a road trip to see an NFL or even BROWNS football game with all of the nice gameday amenities ?

Do they have to save up all year to see just one game ?   You long time season ticket holders can weigh in on that on how things have changed from the of Muni dog pound era to the experience now at the new super nice ($$$$) experience.

I remember just buying individual tickets and getting a hotdog or two or three and a few beers in the 1970s and 1980s.  To be honest my superintendent in a mill I worked in used to give me complimentary 50 yard line tickets when available plus a friend who had INDIANS connections occasionally would get us loge tickets back in that era but regular seats were just fine and you wouldn't spend close to $50 for everything......great memories.

I'm a free market capitalist too but is attending a professional football game becoming a well-to-do activity now ?

I agree with the sentiment of your post here...football is an expensive sport to attend in person.  not something most can load up the family of 4-5 and just go....that's 1000 bucks easy.

For those of you thinking KC is going to have some hard time with the roster anytime soon..HA!  .... over the next 4 years, Ryan Tannehill will be paid more than Mahomes...and the core is already under contract for the next 2 years as it is.

  8. I had thought coming off Bakers good rookie year, we were going to see some good Mahomes/Mayfield playoff battles.  I'm not really sure we are anywhere close to that now......in fact, the AFC is kind of in a weakened state right now......wich should allow for KC to dominate the conference for a while.

  9. ...in regards to the ladies "looks"  .....she's not awful....and while she isn't as "hot" as his wife....look at what Tiger woods was hooking up with...or Arnold Schwartzengers maid that he had a kid with...these ladies weren't/aren't "hot" like magazine cover models.  .....but these guys like Baker, or Tiger, who marry a "hot" woman...probalby have some kinks, or activities that they enjoy, that maybe aren't so enjoyable to their hot spouse.  If being "hot" was the be all end all, these guys would never cheat.  Or if the spouse was hot, (or not) but was getting all done in the bedroom, the husband, would at least be less inclined to go looking for fun elsewhere.  I am SURE in this case, the young lady in the video willingly does more fun stuff in bed than the hot chick Baker married.

As other mentioned, he should have stayed single a while because there is no shortage of willing partners to engage in all the fun stuff a guy might want to do with/to a woman.  You only need to marry when you've decided it's time to find a lady to start a family with.....where you are looking for good looks, brains, common ineterests and all that.

When I was younger, I got the fun stuff out of the way that I wanted to get done....some of wich my current wife wouldn't be into.  Current wife does enough that I have no need or interest to look eslewhere but doesn't do a few of the more degrading things I enjoyed when I was younger..and she's easy to look at, works hard, and all that.  We have kids and work to raise them.

I bet the woman is 100% not lying.  I am sure Baker had his way....and depending on ones moral view of this....maybe possibly, did the wife a favor by not subjecting her to something he is into and she isn't.  She gets to live the life....have the money, and the status of being Ms. Baker Mayfield and doesn't have to degrade herself since he found some skank to degrade.....I don't know..just my opinion.

Hi.  I am not an official with the Kansas City Chiefs, but on behalf of the team, we reject this proposal and furthermore would like to add in our response, that you sir, are Retarded.

  11. Just bring back the Kosar or Sipe era uniforms.  Those were sharp....the modernization would be losing the "sleeve" striping.  Modern NFL uniforms don't have sleeves.  Stripes don't fit there.  They look out of place and what is there, just gets scrunched and doesn't look clean or sharp.  You'd never put striping there if you were desinging uniforms from scratch today...wich is why teams like the Jags and Texans don't have sleeve stripes.  They don't work.  Teams that have recently updated their uniforms, have eliminated the sleeve stripes...the Vikings, Lions, and Dolphins have all lost their sleeve stripes.....Go look at a Steelers or Packers player...especially the big guys....the sleeve striping looks awful.

Also....I really hope you lose the "Browns" name on the pants stripe.  nothing says "Minor leauge mess" like a generic team name on a pants stripe.

Was the decision to let Morse leave in FA simply a cap decision?

Mostly.  Health issues also.  I think they might have paid him if he had proven to be durable but he always spent long stretches injured...so combine that with a high cap number and they let him walk.  Good player when on the field.

Oline across the board save for Schwartz. Secondary is suspect and the dline depth as well.    But the linebackers are better than I expected - just by watching that Ravens game was enough to see the improvement over last year.

I AGREE completely about the O line.  Schwartz is good.  Fisher is adequate (took forever to just become adequate, but he's now adequate) the interior O line is junk.  Mahomes makes that bunch look better than they are.  I cringe whenever people or national media say "KC has a great O line!"  NO WE DON'T.  I think the secondary isn't all that great, but it's probably a little better than people think and they seem to be improving week to week in the new system.  The LBs are still not that good.  I would say that Hitchens in particular is a huge disappointment.  he's paid to be a stud and he is NOT one at all.  We got Darren Lee from the Jets for 6th....and he's been as advertised...good in coverage..not good VS the run.  At least he does something he's supposed to do.  Damien Wilson has been decent.  Hitchens being the bust he is, is holding the D as a whole back.

Having said that....this years D is BETTER than last years.  KC doesn't need a great D...just an average one....I think we've attained "average".  It's not unreasonable at this point to expect 14-2, to 16-0.

Odd, I don't recall the 99 Rams being shut out for a full half in the NFC title game.

Mahomes has evolved into a bright young star. But he may be doomed to live that Peyton Manning post season life 99-2005 until some of the glaring issues with the KC roster are addressed.

You're right the 99 Rams in fact were not shut out in either half of their 11-6 NFC title game win.

What issues do you suppose KC needs to address?  No Hill.  Down to our 4th string RB already.  Starting LT is out.  Still lighting up the scoreboard.  Mahomes on Pace for 6000/60.

A bit of a foolish statement don't you think?

He won't be the first QB taken.  That will be Haskins.

I have no dog in the fight.  I assume you are an Ohio state fan.  I like Haskins.  I believe he’ll be the second QB off the board and be a top 5 pick if not 2nd overall.  Someone will trade into the top 5 for him.

I do think Murray is the best in this group even if he is short. And I believe Arizona will trade Rosen and go with Murray.

  16. ....even though it was pretty lopsided today, I am pretty sure once the Browns get an actual staff in place that Dorsey can work with, things will finaly turn around for you all.  Dorsey has a good eye for talent...just get him someone to help manage the cap and you'll be fine.  I think Mayfield will ultimately be a pretty good QB...I've said so on this board several times, long before the draft that he was the QB to get in this draft class.  Once you get the mess stablized there, I am sure we'll see some epic KC/Cleveland matchups in the future that have major playoff and championship implications.  The Browns just aren't there yet.
