    What’s with the OL didn’t play well again stuff?

    I think some of you need a reality check.  You can’t and shouldn’t expect OLineman in the NFL to block for more than 5 seconds.

    Did Baker not have enough time?  Granted the run game wasnt great but it was effective and produced one of the biggest plays of the game.

    That's a straw man argument. Whoever claimed the OL should be able to give BM 5 seconds per pass play? No one did. The worrisome indicator is no holes for the rushing game. 70 yards rushing won't get it done vs. decent teams. 3 yards per carry won't do it. Let's see if they can beat the Rams with 3 ypc and net of 70 yards rushing. Maybe some of the shortcomings was due to play calling.

  2. A "W" by week 2? How do you even know how to feel?

    Some fun play last night (and some concerning as well). OBJ and Garrett were phenomenal; OL and Baker not as much.

    Yes, NY was missing a load of players and down to, I don't know, their 4th string QB? I have some friends who honestly think the Browns are now set for a Super Bowl run....ummmm, maybe pump the breaks with that talk.  I was confident in beating NY, but the Rams? They are a legit contender. Let's see how they handle those guys. If they beat them, then that is saying something.

    On a side note, why does Cam Newton dress like your great Auntie?

    I joined this board back in college because all my good friends from school are diehard Browns fans and I wanted to know what was going on with the team. Now with that said I'm diehard pittsburgh everything and what you typed is a hilarious crock of shit. Mike Tomlin deserves a Nobel peace prize for keeping brown under wraps for so long. There is also a reason so many players sing his praises and it's not because he's a pussy with no accountability.

    Either way I'm not going to get into a round and round today. I'm not in the mood.

    Yea, well sell yourself on whatever fantasy you wish, but don't expect others to buy into them. A legit coach would have tossed AB off the team a long time ago, he is a cancer and is probably why the Steelers missed the post season last year. Tomlin is an enabler. He acts like players buddy instead of like a head coach. Underachieving most seasons. A legit coach would have done better in the playoffs with that much talent. All Tomlin is good for is twirling his headset cord and pounding on his chest. Fraud. Just like Hue.

    He was hurt after the week one game, it just got worse against the Seahawks. They drafted Rudolph for a reason. He looked great when he came in so I guess we will find out. I'm ready for a bad season but don't expect it to be a shit show.

    This could end up being a blessing in disguise for Browns fan. I have a sneaking suspicion Tomlin will squeak out 6-8 wins and then will be lauded as "having his best coaching season ever" (because he lost his Hall of Fame QB, and Bell and AB) and then get a new deal for 3 more years. What should be feared is a total tank job, where they sweep the whole thing clean. As long as Tomlin is there you can assume it will be a team with no accountability or much discipline. Remember one year when the Steelers laid some eggs vs. awful teams, and Tomlin's big move was to take away ping pong privileges in the locker room (but only to the rookies, at least at first?) That was his big "butch up" moment and his version of "cracking the whip."

    The fall of the "killer "b"itches… two rapists and a stoner all gone now. Time for the good guys to win for a change. The Browns just have to put Jackson in check now.

    Those who live in glass houses...............we do have Kareem Hunt on this team. And let's not forget the owner isn't a choir boy either.

    Not how i want to see someone go out, especially an arch rival.

    Still hoping for a couple legendary battles before Ben hangs it up.

    Yea, I'm not sure why everyone is celebrating this. This takes away the Browns' chance to finally get some payback on Ben. He's 23-2-1 vs Cleveland. Wouldn't you have like a few years of payback, where the Browns beat him for, say, like 4 games straight or something. Also, I feel celebrating others injuries is bad karma. I would think beating Pitt with BB would be much more satisfying....and sans the bad karma, which has plagued this team ever since they chased Paul out of town, but definitely since the late 80's. "Live clean, white man from town, live clean."

    No BROWNS WEEK 9? Hey no problem we still have to eat, so what's your favorite gameday or just weekend eats?

    Dine in or tavern hangout, carryout, favorite rib, chicken, pizza, sandwich, whatever or even cook at home what's up for gameday?

    We don't have a clear cut favorite. Since we have NFL Ticket, we don't go out anymore but may have some grub delievered, or, may make some grub at home, it all depends.

    Among the things we like on game day:

    Order out pizza, wings and/or subs.

    Make burgers, cheese steaks, nachos, cold cut subs, chicken, etc. at home. Miller or Bud light.

    Anyone who had played five years ago would now be a candidate for the Hall of Fame. That doesn’t mean they’re gonna come close to getting in. I fully expect him to be ignored by the HOF voters . Who in history has ever made the Hall of Fame purely as a kick returner

    Not only that, he was a good K/P returner, but not one of the best ever. No way he even sniffs the HOF.

  9. Not a threat anymore. Now his current team (Jets) and former team (Fins) are the teams you threaten players with trading there. Jets could salvage somewhat of a season, when they get players back from injury, but they could still end up as a basement team. They won't get Darnold back for 3 weeks. Lots of other key players will not play this game.

    24-13 Browns

    I wouldn't be putting the Ravens in KC's class- yet. They blew out a Miami team that is obviously tanking. FWIW, the Patriots are favored by 19 against the 'Fins, and I can't ever remember a spread that big in an NFL game. I'll put the Rams & Saints up in the top echelon until proven otherwise...

    Yea, Fins are rubbish, but everyone was assuming Jackson wouldn't be able to pass the ball....................whoops. He did. The rookie Brown takes the top off Ds, and add that to a team who can rush and play great D, and you got a force. I wouldn't say Balt. O is in the same class as KC, but their D is definitely better than theirs. And I'm not sure Dallas is elite, just because they bet a terrible NY team. I think in Dallas we are looking at a 10-6 type of team, maybe wins one playoff game like last year.

  11. Browns win easy, but then here comes back all the over-hype which hurts them like in week 1. OBJ is really gonna want to excel with the game being in NYC. He wants to make the fans sorry he was traded out of NY, even though this isn't the team who did it.

    Jets secondary is terrible. Bakes should rip it to shreds. I'm gonna say, Browns 24, NY 13.

    I remember in 1986 we went 12-4 and played the Bengals on MNF and got destroyed, in fact I believe our only TD that game came from a Blocked Punt,Kosar and the boys could not get anything going. We should not panic.....yet

    Not panic. But get focused. 18 flags is loco.

    sorry, I see that as wrong.Kitchens is the PERFECT coach to be Coach of the Browns. The players fought for a half, it was close - but game time is different - timing is different - and the Teets played like they were po'd at the attention and hype the Browns have been getting. and their defense

      As far as "over-hyped"...sure...that is what the media does. But the changes to the Browns and their success the last third of last season does deserve some serious attention.

        The Kardiac Kids, 1980, lost the first two games of their season. They ended up 11-6. Even week 12, they got hammered by the bungles.

        The Browns lost their composure - the defense was being held like crazy, and the offense was being overrun. And don't anybody tell me there weren't non-calls and calls that benefitted the teets. The OPI on OBJ was a huge example. Their oline got away with a lot of crap that should have been called. Not so much on the Browns offensive line. I'm just sayin what I'm seein. Our LT Robinson got shoved down well after the play was over, NO CALL. The teet that shoved him seemed to be going after him again, and Robinson got po'd and put his foot up to his head to stop him, still on the ground, immediate call of UC and ejection of Robinson.

        There are different examples the Browns suffer this crap. I believe some other teams see it, and bait the Browns, some of the Browns don't handle it well.

       That will change.

    Anyways...in 1980, the Browns went 11-6, but lost their first two games. And their first game they got hammered by the Patriots.

    It's a long season. We'll see how it goes, but judging by the first game is just not valid. I'm concerned about the oline, but still, the Browns didn't have one of the best olines back then either. They will adapt.

    I'm not going to panic. 13-3 is still my prediction. The Titans are historically a team that gets under your skin and causes frustration. It was our first game, a very hyped and sold out game with very high expectations... in which we ended up playing right into the Titan's hands. We will be more poised and not so easily taken advantage of. The Oline situation went downhill very quickly, also helping the titans and compounding baker's protection. The next game should be a complete 180 degree turnaround- I would imagine an extended showing of their first scoring drive throughout the game. Hopeful that the ass whooping lights a fire under this team sooner rather than later. The giant is waking.

    I appreciate you for not just freaking out and going all panic. But...you still think this is a 13-3 team? Hey, it's your right to believe how you wish, but I find 13-3 pie in the sky. So you see 13 wins vs. the rest of the opponents?

    @NYJ, coin flip. Could win.

    Rams - doubt it

    @Ravens. Doubt it. Could easily be a blow out.

    @9ers. Could win.

    Seattle. Possible win.

    @Pats. LOSS, they are better than they have been in a long time.

    @Broncs. Should win

    Bills. Could win, but they seem like they are improving.

    Steelers. Could win.

    Fins. Now _there's_ a win.

    @Steelers - probably an L

    Bungals - W

    @Cards, I'm gonna say an L

    Ravens - L

    @Bungs - who knows

    I see more like 8 wins, not 13

    True, but "in the grasp" is so seldom called these days what with all the other protections built into the rules.

    It's called less, you are right. But it's still in the book. As long as it is, there will be some plays where the whistle is blown early, it will happen. The QB looks like he can't get away, but then does.
