  1. The 49'ers are absolutely terrifying on both sides of the ball. They have the #1 defense in points per game and the #2 offense averaging 33.4 points per game. I love my Brownies, but it will take a Brock Purdy mid-game injury to beat that team. I just hope we don't get embarrassed like the Cowboys did last night.

Hopefully Stefanski realizes BEFORE the game that the 49'ers pass rush will be in the backfield in exactly 2 seconds most of the game. The run game most likely won't get going. So keep Watson in the shotgun, and he will be running for his life. Don't draw up plays that require 5 seconds for the play to develop. Quick, short throws/slants is what is needed. The Rams put up the most points against them at 23 points - Stafford went 33/55 for 307 - short slants/throws - get rid of the ball quick. But the Rams have a Super Bowl coach in Sean McVay calling plays.

It's not going to be pretty on Sunday.

  2. I can't blame Deshaun for that play. We were up 13-3 in the middle of the third quarter, so the game was by no means a blowout, and he picked up 10 yards but took a hit.

The real issue here is Kevin Stefanski. That was a designed QB draw. It's not really a play where your quarterback can slide, you're sending him right into traffic. Smart coaches don't put their quarterback in a position like that to get crushed. But Stefanski's a moron, so he does.

  3. Who knows what to make of Kev's comment. I'm realizing he's just a weird dude. And he's also a man on the hot seat, and he knows that, so he may be trying to cover himself.

For Watson - it was his throwing shoulder, not his non-throwing shoulder, so that makes a difference. In his warmup throws, Watson didn't throw more than 10 yards. If Watson went out there and noodle-armed all the throws and we get killed by the Ravens, we would be screaming how he should have never played. But that's how bad DTR was and why this is getting overanalyzed so much - a noodle-armed QB who could only throw 1-10 yards the entire game would have been better than DTR.

    Great job letting Dobbs go!

I don't really blame the kid for having a bad outing his first game in the NFL against one of the better defenses. It's not like our defense would have performed up to the reputation even with a healthy Watson. But if we are calling plays it require him to take off and run this is what we get. If it's a rotator cuff time to get used to DTR.

There are no excuses in the NFL. Stefanski didn't do DTR any favors, but most of his throws weren't even in the same zip code as the receiver.
