  1. This is a very big day for me and Hoorta as I am pretty sure that he joined me in wanting the Browns to draft Mitch Trubisky. It would be very satisfying for us to look like idiots after the Browns stifle this guy. Frankly, he stinks.

That said, the poster who expressed hope that the Browns pressure this guy has expressed my own concern which is ShitMyPantski's overall passive defense. Aggressive on 1st and 2nd down, and then relaxed on third.

It is enfuriating to know that the Browns are a better team but there is a good possibility that your HC is so afraid of losing that he prostrate himself and essentially invites the opposition to penetrate him.

I hate Stefanski. I think he is the biggest pussy to ever coach in the NFL.

    Browns 20-17

Couple of things Tom... Don't make me look up how many Head Coaches the Dolphins have gone through since Shula, or how many coaches NFL teams have gone though since Bill B took over in New England. It's a nice thought in theory, but that's not how life in the NFL works, and not just for the Browns. You can't keep churning the coaching staff every year or two either. That's a sure fire recipe for disaster, Cleveland is exhibit 1A in that regard.

Regarding Stefanski.... You may be right, time will tell. Plenty of us were bitching last year that Kev didn't have the guts to bench Mayfield when he was obviously  hurt. But, I'm not ready to throw him under the bus when the Browns lose a game the odds said you should win 2,000 out of 2,000 times. If Amari Cooper had fallen on that onside kick, I doubt you'd still be complaining.  :) On my drive back home heard he even called the defense over and told them how he wanted them to play before the 66 yard bomb. Fire the players?

Finally following your logic, you should be more than happy Berry & Company had the brass balls to say Baker wasn't good enough to win the Browns a Super Bowl, and instead swing for the fences bringing in a guy who's carrying more moral baggage with him than a loaded carousel at O'hare International. Should they determine Stefanski isn't good enough either, doubtless he'll be gone too.

Larry, we have been chewing on these issues for years, clonking each other over the head. So let me say this.

I have missed our banter and have always considered you a friend and the epitome of what a Browns fan is.

It is nice to be back to the grind.

Here is hoping we both finally get some relief and get to celebrate another 1964.

The one thing I wish Stefanski would do as a Head Coach (not to be confused with OC) is make sure the other 2 Phases of the game have a sound game plan with everyone on the same page.  They were not and that is a BIG part of the Head Coach's job.  The blind eye to them haunted the Browns.

I don't want to fire any coach 2 weeks into the season.  But, Bill Parcels wouldn't hesitate to get all over the even best DC in the business (BB) back in the day if he felt something was wrong or could be wrong very shortly.  He was well versed on what was going on with all 3 of his phases/Coordinators.

Stefanski. End of this silly debate.

I'm not going to get into any debate BUT. It was just two short years ago that Stefanski won NFL Coach of the Year. Are you trying to tell me he's been taking massive amounts of stupid pills ever since then? Shitpanski? Yeah, to have a realistic shot at landing an NFL Head Coaching gig, you had better be able to shit football IQ.

Just keep on firing guys until you hit on a HOF keeper? Lotsa luck with that strategy, those guys come along about once in a  generation. The odds say you're way more likely to hire the next Hue Jackson than the next Don Schula. BTW, the Dolphins have been looking for his replacement since 1996. :)

Larry, not long ago you made the very same case against my call to fire Phil Sewage and Romeo Crennell during their first preseason.

You stressed their previous work, resumes, and the need for continuity as proof positive that FINALLY the Browns were on the right course.

As we know, I was right. I am also right, now.

We have different perspectives on life, Larry.

I have what I have in life based completely on being a serial entrepreneur. When you visited my home and studio you got a sample of my view of the world.

If what I do doesn't work, I have no fall back, no paycheck, no Haslam.

The difference between people that achieve great success and those who don't is that successful people are not crippled the by risk of failure but instead wipe their ass with it.

Your citations now, and in the past about the poor bastards/teams who have spent endless $$ and times searching for success illuminate the difference in our thinking.

Because greatness in QBs/coaches/Execs is so elusive and rare, you believe that standing pat and attempting to forge success out of your resume employees will surely deliver results.

I see however that Stefanski is NOT delivering excellence. His teams lack discipline, drive, focus and execution.

Whether it is because he blows, or because he does not have the testicular fortitude to stand up to Berry/DePo, Stefanski is not the guy.

I am as sure of this as I was Crennell/Sewage and tell you to mark these words.

The Browns will NEVER sniff a championship under Kevin Stefanski.

HOWEVER, I PROMISE YOU, while the Browns stand safely on dry ground on their rock of mediocrity, the guy that COULD get the team to the show will float down the stream, right in front of their noses, and take HIS team to where the Browns with they could go.

I agree with a lot of what you say except the stuff that made me spit my soup out.  But it was worth the read so thanks!

Things are simple for most other teams the last 3 decades,  Unfortunately Tom, the guy that hired Stefanski is the same guy that will hire the next HC using the same exact criteria or lack thereof.  That's why that is significant.  That's the stuff leading the Titanic into a glacier - only this time they don't have the excuse it was too dark to see.

Well, here's the adversity against what is supposed to be one of the weaker opponents on the schedule.  Their defense is good but their offense won't overwhelm many, if any, secondaries, beside the Browns.  They better giddyup and get after it.

Also, as always, good logic Tom.

Few things I'm kicking around this morning.

    - Does Delpit return to his big nickel role and Harrison overtake the spot Delpit has?  Removes having a better athlete and also some of the size Harrison brings as a de facto nickel/dime backer in certain sets.  But also means you remove having a potential issue of busts vs simple looks.

    - IDL is going to be a glaring weakness Thursday. Short week, questionable QB and oline play from the Steelers.   For anyone following along with my work, on paper the secondary and pass rush are quality. But the IDL is average at best.   And just like 2020 and 2021, the grind of a season will only reduce their already limited effectiveness.   This puts a ton of strain on your secondary to be perfect every play.  Is anything in the works to address this via late trade? I hope Berry see's what is coming, because there's a great deal of recent history to foreshadow it.

    - Jets have a good young team in the making.  Early returns say they hit a home run this draft with Wilson and Sauce.  Just need to find a QB and get healthy on the Oline.  But their skill positions are solid and their Dline is pretty good.

    - I know the late coverage bust is on everyone's mind, but I keep coming back to that flat TD to, I believe Reece? in the late 2nd qtr?  I want to go back and see who the boundary safety was.  If it was Delpit, I'd bet he gave the wrong check to Ward because when facing a 1 fast, 1back set with a reduced split from the WR against quarters is an automatic check to something like a c2. It's just too easy to get a back outside and flat for cheap yards off a little rub vs a curl/flat backer. Especially so close to the redzone.  And I keep wondering why Ward chased the #1 inside and voided flat.

Edit:  And the calls to fire Woods. Be reasonable, there's nothing to support that firing a Dcoord makes the group magically better overnight.  The candidates to replace Woods in house aren't ideal, and you can forget bringing in a completely different coach to install a new system week 3.    There was noticable change and improvement in 2020, same same with 2021 where the defense put this team in place to win more games than it lost.   Does Woods need to be under the microscope? Yes.  Fired today? No.   Because there is no superior alternative in-season when you want to talk about it logically.

All 22 should be out around 5pm EST.  Gives me time to get done with work, hit the gym and try to find some answers.   As usual, if anybody is on TBB discord, you're welcomed to join me as we hunt for answers.

Yes, you catch your wife sucking the neighbors cocktail, but you stay with her because there really are no other chicks on your horizon. BRILLIANT!

Whether you are right or wrong Ghoolie, I'll get right to the question I always ask people thinking all we need is to fire the current Head Coach to hire the next Head Coach - Who hired him?  Who will be in charge of hiring the alleged upgrade?  If this was all we needed to do - wouldn't it have worked by now?

Not for nothing, WHY didn't this organization RESEARCH DeShaun Watson "more than they ever researched any other QB prospect" back when the Browns had the 1st overall pick in the draft in 2017?  Wouldn't that have been a GREAT time to do that when he wouldn't have had to give up 3 first round draft picks and wait 11 games for a suspension to complete before putting the guy/starter on the field?  And how about this one?  Doing so, also would have meant the Browns would have only had to give him a contract that fit under the rookie salary cap vrs guaranteeing him $230 million of cap space.  When I hard that nonsense coming out of Haslam's mouth I though - have you even noticed all of the AFC North Teams have gone to Super Bowls with QBs they drafted?  This franchise has had the draft position to draft Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, DeShaun Watson (before he was massaged), and countless others; but they've never put in the time or patience required to fully research/go after the RIGHT QB with upside vrs best football played in the rear view mirror/college.  That's why we're waiting 9 more weeks on a suspension until the Browns can play their starting QB.

    Tom, life is simple.

    1) All shit in life, starts at the top.

    2) Get rid of the shit.

I heard this same argument when I called for Crennell to be fired after 1 qtr or preseason, and Hue after 1 qtr or preseason.

Blocking, tackling, catching, passing and kicking are not things to be "worked on". Discipline is not something to be "worked on."

These things are taken for granted.

I hired and fired 5 plant managers in 13 months 2021-2022. I didn't waste time trying to analyze why the first 4 fucktards I hired didn't work out.

Life is simple. I hire you and I want result X. If you don't deliver it, I will fuck your daughters, fire you and hire another fucktard.

Life is too short to try an analyze why a human being succeeds or fails.

If what.you have is shit. Flush it, and keep flushing until.you get what you want.

THAT is how you build success and continuity. You cling to what works. This mental masturbation of trying to dissect what isn't working and fix it is the process of imbeciles

Who gives a fuck who hired Stefanski? What difference does it make? Romeo, Hue, Stefanski? Shit, all shit.

Jesus Christ this team is run by losers.

Joe Woods is the dumbest mother fucker in the league. He couldn't solve an escape room if it was made out of a paper bag. He's scared of blankets because they actually cover something. His wife still ties his shoes. Sincerely fuck that guy. We've drafted how many defensive backs over the past few years and this is what we have to show for it? Have we ever cut or replaced a single Andrew Berry pick?  We live with these assholes who have such limited, one dimensional talent and wonder why we get exposed. I'm just a year shy of 40 and I can honestly say this is the most embarrassing loss I've had the misfortune of witnessing.

Stefanski is the problem. Coordinators are coffee fetchers, nothing more.

This defense made Joe Flacco look like Joe Montana; and that's been a pretty difficult thing for defenses to accomplish in the last 3-4 years or so.

FWIW, here's our backup QB Jacoby Brissett's numbers today: 22 of 27 for 229 yards 1 TD and 1 INT.

Of the 5 incompletes, 2 of them were caught with WR's well covered but they couldn't get both feet down in-bounds. 1 of them was originally ruled a TD - then overturned by replay; because DPJ bobbled the ball and didn't secure it until one foot was out of bounds.  Another incomplete was Njoku's drop you acknowledged above. One was a throw away. The last one was an INT after the Browns inexcusably gagged on a 13 point lead to the suddenly unbeatable Jets offense today.  I'd say he did enough to help this team win, which is more than I can say for a lot of the defensive players that didn't do their job today.  The offense got them leads they couldn't protect.  Same with last week if not for a 58 yard FG from a rookie at the end of the game.

    BINGO

Chubb stays in bounds and doesn’t score and we win. Kick an extra point and it’s overtime. Recover a kick and we win. Don’t give up a awfully bad TD and we win.

coaching blows period. Woods doesn’t understand schemes to keep defenses together to win games. Stop fucking defending that asshole.

Yes, WTF is wrong with Chubb putting us up 2 TDs with under 2 minutes to go? WTF is wrong with that guy? Whoever heard of going up 2 scores late in the game? That is idiotic.

Of course.....If we fumbled 1st and goal at the 2 and lost, you would be bitching that Chubb should have put the game on ice.

This is on ShitMyPantski and nobody else.

Oh, and the delicious irony that is the ending of this game coinciding with the return of a certain poster on this board is not lost on me.

YES, YES, YES it was not Kevin ShitMyPantski's lack of discipline from top-to-bottom, it was your Daddy that caused this.

If ShitMyPantski has a job tomorrow it will be a bigger joke than his total lack of control of his team.

Even Hue Jackson wouldn't have lost this.

Stefanski......Shit at the top.....Roll.it down hill.

This is the worst embarrassment the Browns have ever suffered.

And my local TV got bumped by the Pittsburgh steelrz......I absolutely hate that living in OH-IO and getting knocked off by a PA team.

    GO BROWNS  !

I am in Memphuck TN, I get the Titans, Cowboys and then the fucking Pat's, and Giants.

Been sick and 1 step ahead of the hospital. Thank God for Sirius.

And of course, even if I wanted to buy the NFL package these blowjobs don't offer it.

We have a healthy Browns backers group and have more guys at the bar than anyone. Sadly, the Steeler and Cowboy fans fuck it up and fight every week.

Think of the Hangover Trilogy. The fisrt movie was was hilarious, showed Vegas in a beautiful light and had some personal interest/love interest story.

In the second and third we saw Zack who was protective of the call girl in #1, refer to her as a whore,in #2. A killed giraffe, references to anal sex and semen, an amputated finger and a bunch of other violent bullshit.

    Who wants to see that?

Fall in love with a character in #1, only to have him completely re-written in #2.

These Millennial and GenZ movie makers all suck Steeler schwantz.

I loved The Walking dead until they started killing off the best characters, making heroes helpless victims, and completely abandoning the previous week's story line, not revisiting it sometimes for an entire season.

If it were up to these assholes Dirty Harry, John Wayne, Bond, Flint, and Doctor Smith would be killed off after 1 episode.

Morals, conduct, class? Very hard to find in the top movies today.

Sad that we have come to this.
