Dorsey probably didn't want to be perceived as trying to be too heavy-handed within the organization; if Dorsey had rolled in and 90 minutes later fired Hue for being completely useless, Dorsey would be thought of as "Not Working Well With Others" even though he's perfectly fine with competent people. My guess is that Jimmy immediately saw the same negative personality traits within Hue but deferred because Jimmy finally accepted that unlike business, you can't win at football without some actual skill. Of course Hue believes his own nonsense - part of the fun of being arrogant is that you lose your self-awareness. Humility is a foreign concept to Hue. Just imagine how great your days would be if you actually think everything you do is awesome all the time!

I agree -- "mentally in tune" is always going to be the question with Callaway. He seems to have acquired the Martavis Bryant role on this squad.. clearly talented, but always "One Season Away From Breaking Out Because We Can't Completely Trust Him Yet." Higgins clearly deserves the #3 spot and I can't think of a more prototypical slot receiver.. his hands are the best on the team. All Higgins did was keep his head down and work hard even after getting waived early during the 2017 season.. and voila, he's got himself a career. Perhaps him getting waived actually helped him appreciate/face the real world? I don't think the Browns would ever cut bait on Callaway because he is the ideal #4 WR... but Callaway may cut himself if he decides to expect more playing time.

Wilson was the best power5 LB in the draft in pass coverage last college season.. should translate to early PT for him given the gaping maw in that category for Kirksey. Given that Kirksey's most positive PFF ratings against the pass came when he was used to rush the passer.. here's my early .02 suggesting that it's Kirksey who gives way to Wilson by midseason. Schobert thru game10 last season - was pretty good at least at passD. Here's hoping Joe's season3 could be good at both passpro and not missing tackles.. sometimes even on the same play.

Morse was the #13 C this past year.. he's being replaced by Austin Reiter in KC, which he basically did last year [13 games] because Morse was injured. And, Cameron Erving is starting for KC at G next season.. good luck.. surprising none of us, he hasn't improved. Fun: Reiter ranked as the #10 C by PFF last season.. those of you who said he'd be good were right, and that's why KC let him walk. Don't worry much about tretter - he will probably get resigned and not for an exorbitant amount because he's good - not all-pro-adjacent. The increase of the cap makes resigning him not much of a problem.
