  1. That is not an alliance. Allies do not shoot down each other's drones/missiles. The US Navy helped provide Israel with defense against yesterday's attack. Israel killed 4 IRGC generals by bombing an Iranian embassy. Iran killed no Israelis, slightly damaged two airfields (one of which IDF posted an F-35 taking off from today). Israel is the clear winner of this exchange. They don't need to escalate further.
  2. Iran escalated by attacking Israel military bases directly with a salvo of drones and ballistic missiles. This was a direct response to their consulate being bombed in Syria and probably also to placate the Iranian populace. It will be interesting to see how Israel responds. Biden administration has stated publicly that there will be no American offensive response to Iran. Biden argued to Netanyahu that the assassination of 4 IRGC high-ranking officers in exchange for some minor damage to two airfields a win for Israel. Reminder, the Knesset was looking to put Netanyahu in prison for corruption before the Oct 7 attacks, so I'm not sure he sees it the same way. As soon as this crisis ends, the Israeli people are going to vote him out and/or jail him. There is an opportunity for de-escalation here, but we'll see what Israel decides to do. Arms race implications of this attack are pretty big. The Iron Dome, Patriot missiles, and scrambled fighter jets were overwhelmed by a relatively small salvo. What's new is the ballistic missiles with the final stage booster. Those are going to be exceptionally difficult to target.
  3. I still categorize myself as a classical liberal. I feel that I haven't moved much. I'm still anti-military industrial complex. I'm still for whistleblower protection. I'm still pro-choice. I'm still anti-censorship. I'm still pro-gun rights. I'm still against illegal immigration and for legal immigration. Religious zealots still annoy me.
  4. What Arizona supreme court did is a power grab by people who can't be reasoned with because they truly believe they're stopping murders. I suspect the legislative and executive branches will force this to come to a vote. I also suspect, like Ohio, Arizona will vote for the right for women to have an abortion. Checks and balances will come out on top. If it doesn't get overturned, then he won't be winning arizona.
  5. Cal, this is what your posts look like. I literally have no idea what mental gymnastics occurred in your head to point out what happened on October 7th throughout history. lol, lmao.
  6. Are you capable of reading the links you post? (No) If you scroll down, you'll see the part where the Hannibal directive was applied on Oct 7. So thank you for proving my point. You'd look like less of a dunce if you'd stop FEELING like a liberal and use your brain to think.
  7. Good. The FBI and NSA need to be reined in.
  8. Israel's Hannibal directive working as intended.
  9. https://www.thefp.com/p/npr-editor-how-npr-lost-americas-trust Good on this guy for at least attempting to voice his concerns with the integrity of their coverage during the orange scare. Hopefully, their new CEO will make it worth listening to again.
  10. I was in NC for the 2017 eclipse. I think the sun was about 97% covered at that location. It's unreal how much light that 3% provides. For me, the reaction to 2017 was "well, that was neat, haven't seen it since 94." In contrast, today was a spiritual experience. Being able to actually look at it with the naked eye. Crickets started up when it went dark, and when the light came back, spring peepers started croaking.
  11. I looked at it without glasses. I saw the firmament. Round earthers BTFO
  12. Their problem was allying with us, having a land border with Asia Minor and the Middle East, and thinking that immigration could seamlessly replace the babies that Europeans weren't making. Well, here we are. Iraq, Syria, Libya, Tunisia. Places the US destabilized. My dad worked at Nintendo and he said that the things he saw... if things went differently, they would have won the console war against Sony and Microsoft. But he couldn't tell me what he saw. It was a trade secret.
  13. Israel moving troops out of south Gaza and toward northern Israel. Increased conflict expected with Hezbollah.
  14. These people are here because Netanyahu recommended to US Congress to bomb the hell out of his Muslim neighbors on false pretenses of WMDs, leading to their destabilization. Source: https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4529120/user-clip-netanyahus-expert-testimony-iraq-2002 If you don't want these people here, maybe you should stop supporting our government's role in creating Middle Eastern refugees.
  15. He said shitlib "inanity," not "insanity." Which, imo, is a fair description of the show. Why do you find that so hard to believe? Cue and response is a well-studied psychological phenomenon. Is it really a conspiracy theory to suggest that the corporate media might try and apply it to its viewers? I don't think you're wrong about the pacing being meant to drive engagement, but to outright dismiss the social conditioning part of his argument is premature. These aren't assertions without evidence, you can watch the most recent episode and see the same exact formula in play.
  16. UAE suspends diplomatic relations with Israel. Suspect that the attack on the aid workers was the last straw for them.
  17. Israel's gone way past the line of defending their right to exist. That's why most people, including myself, are critical of them.
  18. ad hominem. Can you point out where that post is wrong?
  19. I remember howard stern was planning to run for governor of new york, but in the end decided against it because it required financial transparency that people who don't like him would use to try and ruin him. Prophetic.
  20. This is more or less the formula for late night talk. The post is 8 years old, but it's still accurate.
