FearTheRoo
HAHA i hate osu and their fans. Great post Thousands of people bragging about their school, the school that 90% of them never attended. My favorite (as proven by people on this board) is their only comeback is...oh well what has Akron done. If you're an obnoxious homer, you think that every Suckeye is the greatest gift to earth. When that player fails (Slowbiskie) you have to get ready to deal with the backlash. Never once did I claim any player from the Akron FOOTBALL team would be a "beast" or suggest that the Browns should sign every Akron grad. That's the difference between real fans and bandwagoners. We know our team sucks, but we don't pretend that it's something better than it is. When OSU sucks, you blame the NCAA or still claim they are the best in the country. hoorta
EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT POST.................... The real point is, if Holmgren and Heckert are such geniuses, what the fcuck were they doing letting this guy play? Was it part of evaluation? Hell, we had him properly evaluated after one preseason game. Was it part of developing the system? LMAO Here is the funny part. We are millions under the cap, T.O. is available and yet, we stand pat as a loser. IS A GUY LIKE T.O. a long-term answer.......... Well, YES YES YES, he is. How so? Sign him for teh season, if he doesn't work out and contribute, so what? On the other hand if he does, then we hit a home run. It isn't like we can't afford to uspet the apple cart with a proven FA. But alas, T.O> came available and the Browns stood pat.............. with SHIT. Point one about Robiski- I happen to agree, sort of. The guy didn't have enough speed out of his cuts to ever make an impact in the NFL. The "sort of" is high draft picks get cut way more slack than low ones ever do. In fact, the only THIRD round pick I can' think of that never made it out of training camp was Rich's fave- Maurice Clarett. Regarding BO yes, your heard me right BO- if the guy is such a fooking prize, why in the hell has NO NFL team picked up the booger yet? Because he's 38 years old, and had ACL surgery. I wouldn't doubt for a second teams have brought BO in (real quiet) for a medical exam, and say "hit the road toad, you're still damaged goods, and we don't need your services." PS BO won't work out- he's gotten his sorry ass kicked off of five teams to date. Times are tough for BO
EvilButterfly
no not at all. i actually kinda dig seeing what all the ohio schools do. no didn't got to osu but it's like being from texas, you wouldn't root for texas? No, sorry. Ohio State university is a poor representitive of our state and should be looked at the same way people look at Miami and SMU. The only thing more embarrassing than their ethical bankruptcy or them getting bounced by SEC teams even when they cheat, might just be their smug, douche baggish attitude. You're not "The Ohio State" university. To claim that, just goes to show, you're a pompous horses ass of an institution. Columbus is a shitty town anyway though. hoorta
Thousands of people bragging about their school, the school that 90% of them never attended. Who's saying the Browns should sign every guy that comes out of Ohio State? Other than the odds the guy could be mighty good. Robiski certainly won't be the last OSU bust- and he's certainly not the first either. Cousineau, Craig Powell and Dan Wilkinson rank far higher on the bust-o-meter, based on their draft position. Clarett is up there just on pure suckiness.
Gips
Its about time they cut slowbiskie but like everything else this regime has done its a year to late.. While i believe this regime is the best we have seen since the expansion era they leave too much to be desired in the player evaluation process and waste to much time.. They seem to be extremely boneheaded and really dense at both figuring out their business and then applying it.. I like this regime but as a fan i seriously dont like their time wasting approach or the lack of urgency to get it done it indicates what most of us already know, and that is that randy does not put a sense of urgency on this regime and its just a symptom of an hands off owner and a regime that in return feels it has all the time in the world at the fans and idiot owners expense.. Until winning by doing what has to be done by any means necessary both on and off the field it is hard to take this regime seriously..

Pumpkin Eater
Cheat? Cheating would be wearing cleats longer than Bowl regulations allow.. see Tennessee in the Citrus Bowl. Cheating would be twisting Pryor's ankle after tackling him... see Arkansas last year. Steroids would be cheating too. Preventing kids from selling a few things for dough is just ignorance. Getting a tattoo doesn't enhance anyone's performance. jrb12711
as for the "osu fans all thought robiske was going to be a beast" I sure as shit didn't. I thought he had a chance in the nfl, but at best a late round flyer guy in the last couple rounds. When we took him in the 2nd I almost broke the tv i was so mad. Don't just assume all OSU people have blinders on. When it comes to who the browns bring in i'm as objective as it gets as well as many people. The only guy from OSU i thought was going to be a beast and completely flopped was Gholsten (who I still think kind of never got an opportunity but that's a different story). The fact of the matter is though that OSU has more often than not just put good NFL players on the field, even the biggest OSU haters can admit that. But that makes sense considering the size and depth of the school. Anywho, good move that was long overdue. I think this should show just how shitty the browns draft process was more than anything else before this regime. I don't feel like bringing up all the stats but it's ridiculous the overall lack of talent the drafts were the past years.
marcus
If he bulks up in the off season, focuses on blocking, and improves his ball skills he'll make a decent tight end. His downside is his speed. If he works on those things you'll see a hell of a tight end somewhere. It'd be no different than a CB that's converted to FS or SS.
