MLD Woody Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Fuck According to my NFL Mobile app He has to have a case for an appeal "BREAKING NEWS Josh Gordon suspended for one year The Browns wideout violated the league's substance-abuse policy. His suspension has been upheld on appeal, Ian Rapoport reports."
Thaak Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 He has already appealed. This is the decision based on the appeal. The only recourse Gordon has at this point is to file a lawsuit in court, similar to the Vikings/Saints guys in the Starcaps case.
LogicIsForSquares Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 I haven't seen anything official yet. If they waited this long to do it then the NFL is complete garbage. By waiting this long, they have effectively screwed him out of training camp next year. He won't be able to practice (as far as I am aware) until the year long suspension is up.
letsgojackets Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Fucking bullshit. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter?original_referer=http%3A%2F%2Fbleacherreport.com%2Fcleveland-browns&tw_i=504669725998452736&tw_p=tweetembed
letsgojackets Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 He needs to file a lawsuit. That shit is weaksauce!
Kennel Club Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Wife beating = 2 games. Weed smoking = 1 year. Way to go Rodger.
LogicIsForSquares Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Yeah I just read that as well. So they dragged him along so they could make him miss training camp next year? That is the only reason I could come up with as to why they waited till the last minute.
Mudfly Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
CLEinCHI Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Hopefully he can file a law suit a la the Williams/Saints guys did for starcaps - Ohio has similar employment laws as MN as it relates to drug testing....it sounds like, from Gordon's statement that he is taking the suspension...this sucks....
LogicIsForSquares Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Ray Rice is having a good laugh about this. Maybe it will save his old lady from her Wednesday beating.
cvcanedy Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Wife beating = 2 games. Weed smoking = 1 year. Way to go Rodger. I know I'm wasting my breath. But it's not for weed smoking. It's for repeated violations of a clear rule.
cuwoohio Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Still has the DUI to deal with and about 1000 more drug test to pass before we get to next year. Like to see the Vegas odds on him ever playing again.
cvcanedy Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Now we can move on. Right. This is a time for pragmatism.
Kosar_For_President Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Anyone have a link to contact the NFL?
Mudfly Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Yeah I just read that as well. So they dragged him along so they could make him miss training camp next year? That is the only reason I could come up with as to why they waited till the last minute. Ive wondered this same thing....if they really just wanted to screw the guy and cost him extra time. Sure seems like it. IF that is the case, then it may not be over for a long time, as they could whack him again next year for the DUI......
D Bone Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Right. This is a time for pragmatism. Had to google that
Mr. Make-Believe Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 I know I'm wasting my breath. But it's not for weed smoking. It's for repeated violations of a clear rule. Yeah. Weed smoking,
Tour2ma Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Hopefully he can file a law suit a la the Williams/Saints guys did for starcaps - Ohio has similar employment laws as MN as it relates to drug testing....it sounds like, from Gordon's statement that he is taking the suspension...this sucks.... It did read that way... If he sues, would he have to sue both the NFL and the NFLPA because of the CBA?
cvcanedy Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Yeah. Weed smoking, Doesn't matter if it's wearing a blue shirt. The rule says not to do it, yet you keep doing it or at least put yourself at risk. Yes, I think it should be legal, and yes I totally hate this, but it's very simple. Stop breaking rules.
Flyin J Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 He is able to file for reinstatement once the league year is over I heard. Waiting this long also kills his chance of getting a temporary restraining order done before the season....
Tim Couch Pulls Out Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 He has already appealed. This is the decision based on the appeal. The only recourse Gordon has at this point is to file a lawsuit in court, similar to the Vikings/Saints guys in the Starcaps case. Right. Filing an injunction to delay the date of suspension is the only way he'd play this season. To be honest, it's probably not worth it. Better to come back next season (if he makes it that far) than to play with a rookie QB, brand new offensive system and new coaches. Shit...in 2015 the Browns will be getting a new logo, new jerseys, and Josh Gordon.
nickers Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Roger Goodell chicken shit his way out once again.. This is clear confirmation to Me that he needs to be removed from his post ASAP. He's turning the NFL into a joke. Also. If Im a HC in the league. I instruct My defense to pile on Ray Rice and take his ass OUT!
Kennel Club Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 I know I'm wasting my breath. But it's not for weed smoking. It's for repeated violations of a clear rule. I am aware that this ban is for repeated violations but in this instance I don't think the time fits the crime.
cvcanedy Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 He is able to file for reinstatement once the league year is over I heard. Waiting this long also kills his chance of getting a temporary restraining order done before the season.... Yeah this seems calculated by the nfl. I guess they learned their lesson. It sucks.
slowburn Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Anyone have a link to contact the NFL? cuntsrus.com
CLEinCHI Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 http://fieldandcourt.com/component/k2/item/246-what-to-expect-if-josh-gordon-loses-his-appeal.html the above article outlines what could happen next more eloquently that I can... last ounce of hope to squeeze out this, the sourest of lemons...
D Bone Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 This will be my last post in this thread, as I am over Puffy. He knew the rules. It is NOT up for discussion whether or not "weed is bad". It's against his employer's rules. PERIOD. If he doesn't like his employer's rules, then he is free to look for employment elsewhere. Now that that is out of the way ( yea, right.... How many people will still post after this saying, "It's only pot, and RR beat his wife and only got 2 games".... LOTS) He is selfish and only thought of himself, and now he's gonna pay the price........ As will his teammates, coaches and fans. If you can't do the time, don't load the bowl.
