miktoxic
goodell ain't going no where BUT someone will definitely fall on their sword for him. i'm thinking it's the vice president of the NFL who went on ESPN to say a 2 game punishment of rice was sufficient and a precedent had already been set so their hands were tied blah, blah, blah. the reason i hope goodell is not going is......... the josh gordon case. if the player's association doesn't see the vulnerability now of the NFL and the owners (who a lot have publicly defending goodell) and smell the blood in the water to get these other cases resolved and re-looked at....then they some dumb muthas. calfoxwc
With the news out that the NFL office had that full video since April? Or at least, a few months ago, the ratbirds may not have had it, but somebody covered for them at the NFL office, but when it got out to the public, they finally realized they had to act. Goodell needs to be gone. I don't accept that the NFL office had it for months, but this worthless commish didn't know about it.

hoorta
Roger Goodell is in DEEP SHIT No shit. Watching the video with the law enforcement explanation showing him spitting in her face twice removes any chance that he's a good guy with one blemish. He spits in her face twice and when she comes at him he coldcocks her and then lies about it. He'll never play again once the "better quality" video, which law enforcement says they sent the NFL, comes out. The punch kicking him out- well, I wasn't so sure- but spitting on her twice- sure. BTW, Douche- he has a history. Manged to get a 15 yarder against Phil Taylor when the Ratbirds played the Browns. Phil didn't take too kindly to Rice spitting on him. LOL Ray, get the helmet off and see what happens when Phil breaks your wife beating arm. With the news out that the NFL office had that full video since April? I love Ozzie, but supposedly Rice told him exactly what happened, and the Ravens did NOTHING until the video came out.
miktoxic
goodell is not going to get fired by this group of owners unless the pressure of the National Org of Women put sooo much pressure on each individual owner that it becomes too much for the to bear. My point is, from what i heard yesterday, is that the only descending group of owners that had a negative stance towards goodell were the ones complaining about goodell's handling of the players suspended for miniscule drug charges be it repeat offenders or not, all of it stemming from the ray rice ulte-lenient 2 games suspension. now with the egg on his face from that, the backlash from the player's union about too stiff of penalties for marijuana charged offenses, why would any browns fan want him out if you wanted to see gordon on the field this year. do you know who would replace him? god forbid it be condaleeza rice. she might fire gordon for life and have a zero tolerance for anything period. i would think all you right wingers would not mention her name in the same sentence with the abbreviation NFL in it. miktoxic
The guy who got the video needs to quit- today. I love Ozzie, but supposedly Rice told him exactly what happened, and the Ravens did NOTHING until the video came out. the cover up will go like this. 1. the law enforcement agent will go public with the voicemail recording. of a female employee at the NFL telling him we got the tape and yes it's horrible. 2. said female employee will come forward and either fall on the sword herself (not good for the NFL in the eyes of the NOW) but will claim she gave it to one of her overseers. 3. that person above the female will claim full responsibility and resign or be fired and state that he didn't know what to do with it or it got lost somewhere in the chain of command or he wanted to hide it for the good of the NFL. i really think it will be birch who falls on his sword since he is/was in charge of legal aspects of the NFL player policy including hearing cases such as josh gordon's. miktoxic
I love this part! NOW is ignorance personified! They are not interested in fixing the plethora of problems in the NFL, they are just interested in fueling their cause! of course. but so does the NFLPA. that's my real end game here. the NFL is getting beat up pretty good right now. there's not a better time for those who are appalled at the stiff penalty of some marijuana charges and those who represent their clients to go in and have the limp twisted hand of the NFL start signing their names to the bottom of papers to reinstate some of the more laughable suspensions in light of this video and the dumb-founded look of the NFL right now. LogicIsForSquares
The nim-rod receiver is more important to the Browns right now. If Goodell goes down in flames, he will just be replaced with another schmuck that everyone will bitch about. Rinse and repeat.

LogicIsForSquares
Let's hope you are incorrect.....but I suspect you are right I just don't see there being much of a change. The new guy may try to cater to the public interest and players in the beginning but eventually I think the owners prefer an commissioner like Goodell. miktoxic
Comeon Man! You can't possibly try to play the poor Browns card here? This is way bigger and deeper than a suspension regardless of its merit or lack thereof. This is going to mold the future of the entire game of football in the United States and you want to boo-hoo about your nim-rod receiver? pleez. i wasn't jus talking about gordon. i'm talking about the whole premise that the 'weeda' laws and punishment are or were worse than that of a guy punching out his wife. i'm also talking about the NFLPA being able to slide across the NFL's table their position on ALOT of things they want changed and all i'm saying is right now is a perfect time. btw, i never play a browns boo hoo card. i use vintage porn playing cards. so go eat shit. nickers
The real question is how in the hell did no one think that there was a video camera in that elevator and that it would come out eventually? That's just it.. If TMZ could get a hold of it... How could the police and the Team (Ravens), not know about it... or, get a hold of it.. I mean this is pretty common protocol in terms of indicting and litigating such a case.

Everyone who has ever been in a casino at any point in their life knows that there are cameras on you everywhere except for possibly in your room and there might be cameras in there too.
