blowe
I had a nice response written up but I deleted it because cal may be the most close minded individual on this board and I do not feel like trying to separate my personal experiences from his skewed perceptions on pot. Long story short is I do not experience many of those side effects listed in your article. If you want your booze and cigarettes then you better give pot to those who want it. Consenting adults deserve that.
blowe
That is the convo here right? Should pot be legal? Or do you just feel like putting me down because you disagree with what I do in my personal time?
Westside Steve
That is the convo here right? Should pot be legal? Or do you just feel like putting me down because you disagree with what I do in my personal time?Disagree or disapprove? I suppose you can spend your time as you wish. I know people who love oxycodontin and cocaine and seem to be able to function. I don't know many but some like heroin. and I know people whose lives are negatively impacted by cigarettes and alcohol. WSS
MLD Woody
In the end, I see no rationale to have alcohol and cigarettes legal, but keep pot illegal.
DieHardBrownsFan
It will be a long time before the feds will make it legal. The sun may die before it happens.

blowe
Here are a couple sources regarding the economic benefits of legalization http://norml.org/library/item/revenues-from-legalization http://dollarsandsense.org/archives/2014/0314schneider.html http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/2089107 Let's not forget about that cost of prohibition... http://www.prohibitioncosts.org
mohican
If you judge by money spent versus results the War on Drugs is a failure. If you judge by loss of personal liberty then the War On Drugs is a failure. The people that are winners in the war on drugs are the cartels and the people that make money off the prison system, and government agencies at all levels that skim through asset forfeiture. The sun will most likely still be shining when pot is legalized and like woody said.. how can you keep cigs and alcohol legal but prohibit pot? Well that's not the point but it is the reality. Of course it's not a great analogy since cigarettes are almost illegal now. apparently it's alright to deprive people of their livelihood if they smoke cigarettes in their homes on their own time.
