Bullock To Work Out For NFL Teams

Posted by Aaron Wilson on April 1, 2009, 8:08 p.m.

A growing list of NFL teams have confirmed that they will attend Cleveland State basketball player J’Nathan Bullock’s workout, according to a league source.

On April 10, Bullock will try out at tight end for the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns.

The 6-foot-5, 245-pound basketball standout is a former honorable-mention all-state football player from Flint, Mich.

Bullock is hoping to follow in the footsteps of San Diego Chargers Pro Bowl tight end Antonio Gates, who played basketball at Kent State.

Bullock is the fourth all-time leading scorer in school history, averaging 15.4 points last season.

In high school, Bullock played every skill position as well as defensive end and linebacker.

SAN DIEGO STATE LINEBACKER’S STOCK RISING

Posted by Aaron Wilson on March 22, 2009, 9:37 a.m. EDT

San Diego State linebacker Russell Allen had a strong workout in front of Carolina Panthers coach John Fox as well as scouts from 16 other teams at his campus Pro Day.

At 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, Allen ran a 4.62 in the 40-yard dash with some teams clocking him as fast as 4.58 seconds. His 4.62 time would have ranked him as the fourth-fastest linebacker at the NFL scouting combine.

Allen also registered 24 repetitions of 225 pounds in the bench press test, a 33 1/2 inch vertical leap and a 9-10 broad jump.

The other NFL teams represented at the workout included: the San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, Chicago Bears and the Oakland Raiders.

Allen was named San Diego State’s Most Valuable Player last season and is the school’s third all-time leading tackler.

Eric Mangini reportedly met with Hawaii CB Ryan Mouton while he was on the west coast. According to Tony Pauline, Mouton's stock is rising after a great pro day:

Ryan Mouton/DB/Hawaii: Mouton ran one forty during the Hawaii pro day on Thursday, timing in the low 4.4's despite pulling his hamstring midway through the sprint, an injury he suffered at the combine. Earlier in the day Mouton posted a broad jump of 11 feet. Mouton is a real wild card in April's draft and a cornerback who could be selected much earlier than people expect. He's incredibly athletic and scouts love his potential.

Robert Sheets from KRS III Sports Mgmt reported to Draftguys.com that Texas Tech OG Louis Vasquez has a visit with the Browns scheduled on April 16-17

Thanks for the info, Sigmund.

According to TFY Draft, the Browns sent OL coach George Warhop to Vasquez's pro day, and he reportedly very much liked what he saw of the Texas Tech lineman. With the news that he's making a stop in Berea, it seems increasingly likely that Vasquez will be a day two target for the Browns.

Pettigrew To Work Out For NFL Teams Today

Posted by Aaron Wilson on April 3, 2009, 12:51 p.m.

Oklahoma State top-ranked tight end Brandon Pettigrew is holding a private campus workout today for six NFL teams, according to Tony Pauline of SI.com.

Pettigrew has been hampered by a hamstring injury and isn’t expected to run the 40-yard dash, but will conduct positional and pass-catching drills.

Pettigrew is expected to draw a crowd of at least six NFL teams, including representatives from the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets.

According to TFY Draft, St. Paul cornerback Greg Toler will be visiting Berea. According to Gil Brandt, the Browns have already worked him out privately; he must have really impressed them.

Wide out Dudley Guice, out of NW State, has a visit scheduled with the Jacksonville Jaguars on the 13th and 14th of April, followed by a visit with the Cincinnati Bengals 15th and 16th. The Cleveland Browns are also showing a lot of interest in Guice and might schedule a workout with NW State wide receiver.

Rehabbing Crabtree to make four visits this week

WR prospect Michael Crabtree, who has seen his stock drop slightly in recent mock drafts while he continues to rehabilitate his injured left foot, has scheduled visits with four NFL teams this week, including the Cleveland Browns on Monday.

Crabtree, who had surgery for a slight stress fracture on his left foot on March 4, is out of the cast and walking boot and is now wearing a soft shoe.

On Saturday, Crabtree will meet with Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, N.C., for a final evaluation on the injured foot.

According to Scout.com, the Browns will be hosting Penn State receiver Deion Butler later this week. They've also worked out DE-OLB Aaron Maybin.

The Browns have also hosted Ohio safety Michael Mitchell, but that visit doesn't count as one of our 30 allotted team visits.
