A hungry homeless man fed today is a possible loyal Catholic tomorrow. Possible, maybe. Almost all homeless people get free meals probably everyday. Most of them I assume from agencies that encourage them to turn their lives around and follow whatever grand steps the organization has in mind. Most of the time they probably keep on doing what they're doing, day by day, free meal after free meal. WSS
OldBrownsFan
The problem with humans is that we like to speak for God. It makes us feel important. However in the zeal to be the one speaking for God you have those who either are willfully making things up or they are deceived into thinking they are speaking for God when in reality they are not. The simple test for a real prophet is does the prophecy come true or not? In the old covenant they had a system to keep false prophecies to a minimum. You make a false prophecy and they killed you. That tended to make the prophets pretty sure they were actually hearing from God. Not so today. People have no shame and we have those today who make false prophecies and they just continue making more. I'm sticking with what the bible says over anything else. FairHooker11
here is an example of just how FAR from diety that people seem to ascribe the pontiff - if not only his officials! you see they (vatican) are just as concerned about "optics" too by those content with exploiting the office of vicar http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/10/01/vatican-source-pope-blindsided-by-meeting-with-controversial-kentucky-clerk/ The Vatican has since tried to distance Pope Francis from Davis. Vatican spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi said the pope’s meeting with Davis was not an endorsement of her decision to refuse to issue same-sex marriage licenses. whether you are yay or nay on the Davis issue / the gay marriage debate, you can be assured that the pope will not get in the middle of this either

jbluhm86
False ones. I assume you are making this claim based on, what, the Bible? If so, it is a rather weak argument. "The Bible says Jesus is God, so all of those other prophets from all those other religions are fake". That sounds eerily similar to Islam's "There is no God but God, and Muhammed is his Prophet", and they similarly base this "fact" on the beliefs in their Koran. Where is the evidence to back up any religion's claims outside of their sacred texts? You can't simply say "My God is the real God because the Bible says so" and this dismiss the other religions for doing the same thing. My criteria is having pussy fuckers like you come in and bitch about religion and believing in god. You're a pathetic fuck with no life and mad at anything that doesn't fit your sick belief system. Lol, wow. This statement, coming from a blunt instrument such as yourself, is breathtakingly hypocritical. But, I'll humor you anyway. I don't "believe" in anything; my views on the world tend to be grounded in things like "facts" and "evidence". Nor am I "bitching" about anything, which you and a few others seem to do quite incessantly; I simply write down my opinons on whatever topic i'm participating in, and they are always open for critiquing and rebuttal by other rational individuals on this board. And I hate to break it to you, but no matter how hard you look at the bottom of whatever whisky bottle you're chugging while you're regurgitating your nonsense on this board, you're never going to find the 1950's again at the end of it. The world is never going to go back to explaining things as "I believe it because the Bible tells me so". But, by all means, keep continuing to drown yourself in spirits while remembering you're good old days of when white, God-fearing men were in charge and those heathen atheists and fags and minorities knew their place... Islam fully recognizes every major player in the Torah and bible as prophets. Including but not limited to moses, aaron, noah, Abraham, and especially Jesus. Jesus has a place of great distinction in islam as the Messiah although they don't believe he is the "son of god"

Yes you could counter with that but then I would have to raise you with former atheists who studied the bible to prove it false, found out the truthfulness of the bible and became believers themselves. I went the other route. Grew up religious and then asked enough questions that made me question it all and opt out. I work in absolutes and cant rely on faith on things. That in mind, I don't knock religion so long as someone isn't trying to be obnoxious about converting me.
