They also used their gun registration lists to know exactly where to go to to confiscate the guns. It didn't matter if it was a rifle passed down from someone's grandfather or whatever the case you either surrendered it or you were going to jail. Obama is lying when he says states with the most gun control laws are safer because all you have to look to is Illinois and Chicago with their strict gun control laws and sky high gun murder rates. I noticed Obama never spoke of enforcing already existing gun laws or tougher sentencing for crimes committed with guns. Never let a crisis go to waste. I am not being cynical but stating what the democrats strategy is every time there is a tragedy like this before even any of the facts are known there is Obama pushing his gun control agenda. The key point is HIS gun control agenda. He did not speak about gang violence and guns or mental illness and guns but just the democrats idea of gun control which will only affect law abiding citizens who obey laws. Honestly, I'm not sure what Obama thinks could be done to avoid this. You can't take everybody's guns away (even if you tried, you would fail). Less people hunt (as in, also, less places to be able to hunt because of giant expansion of urban areas)... etc. But it is dumb because more and more people are not admitting they have them-because of the threat of going after our 2nd Amendment worries by Obamao, and the likes of haggardly clinton, etc. If the people who say "we just have to DO something" want to stop it. apparently, they shoud stop criminalizing a couple hundred innocent gun owners etc... and criminalize the media doing what they do. Maybe when they commit these crimes, they lose all rights to a public trial, the media is shut out, and they get immediately sent to the death penalty secret prison, or secretly to gitmo to never be seen or heard from, ever. They just disappear. Well, that is, if the anti-gun political extremists REALLY want to stop these crimes from occuring. I mean, we DO "have to DO something".
