Westside Steve Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Somebody posted an interesting question on the Donald Trump thread and I wanted to take it one further by itself. Why in the world would anyone vote for Hillary Clinton? WSS
One Post Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Hillary just might win if rural America does get out and vote! The big cities are what really matters in numbers. TRUE
Bob806 Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Can't think of any reason on my end. I'm voting Sanders in the primary, in an attempt to halt her nomination. Sanders would never get my vote in November, just to be clear.
gftChris Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Anyone but Trump? General blind allegiance to a party rather than a politician? I've seen plenty of people saying 'i'm voting for whoever wins the nomination because we can't let the other guys in power!' Also, a general feeling that things will continue on the same kind of track as they are currently. I don't think that's necessarily the case, but that's what she's trying to portray. Eight more years!
Westside Steve Posted March 3, 2016 Author Report Posted March 3, 2016 I can understand voting for Sanders someone agrees with his ideology. Intellectually I think those people should be bright enough to know that it isn't going to happen. And frankly, even though I consider myself a right of center moderate, when I listen to Bernies speeches saying everyone can have all this wonderful stuff and all we have to do is Tax billionaire is a little bit more, it's hard to say it wouldn't be nice to take the path of least resistance. But back to Hillary, what does she possibly have to offer? WSS
DieHardBrownsFan Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Clinton born 10-26-1947. Will be 69 if elected Sanders born 9-8-1941. Will be 75 if elected Trump born 6-14-1946. Will be 70 if elected. All are old. My main problem with Trump is that he doesn't look healthy. Neither does Clinton. Sanders looks healthier then both of them and is older.

gftChris Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 also, your text to speech really fucked up the thread title...
bbedward Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 All are old. My main problem with Trump is that he doesn't look healthy. Neither does Clinton. Sanders looks healthier then both of them and is older. Sanders looks healthiest? He looks like he's about to turn into dust and he had a Hernia already on the campaign trail. Hillary wears a pound of makeup so it's hard to tell - Trump is a victim of too many tanning sessions throughout his life. For a near-70 year old man though Trump moves pretty well - he's been doing like 3 rallies a day, interviews. The one time after a debate he did interviews after it for awhile - then flew to NH or one of the other states that was about to vote and did interviews on morning shows then a rally. Seems like the guy has more energy than me, I'd assume it's not drugs because he's a loser who never drank, smoked, and eats steak well done.
One Post Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 also, your text to speech really fucked up the thread title...Laughing out loud and I wlll be right back and talk to you later.
Westside Steve Posted March 3, 2016 Author Report Posted March 3, 2016 Why won't it happen exactly? I mean, apart from being held up by people saying it won't happen. One of the same reasons Trump won't get his way. We have a Senate and Congress here and I doubt that anybody is going to risk his funding by writing a bill that Sanders will sign.Imagine Bernie telling Congress he wants to quadruple (or much more) the taxes on the rich. Or cut the defense budget by 70%. Or Donald Trump telling Congress to get busy on that wall. You don't go socialist overnight Pal, it's the frog in the pot thing. WSS

gftChris Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Yeah, I said a while back that there'd be endless executive orders, which is part of the problem of your democracy btw.
Westside Steve Posted March 3, 2016 Author Report Posted March 3, 2016 also, your text to speech really fucked up the thread title...Oops. It should have read Hillary, the woman who is running for president. She's married to Bill Clinton. Sorry for the confusion. WSS
gftChris Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 I think we all got that. In fact it took me a while to notice.
bbedward Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Yeah, I said a while back that there'd be endless executive orders, which is part of the problem of your democracy btw. Not really - when you have a circle jerking congress that puts a bill to repeal one of your biggest accomplishments (obamacare) on your desk 150+ times what are you supposed to? But executive orders can be overruled by the supreme court. They are supposed to be more of a "clarify the law" rather than "make a law" - some have been overturned by SCOTUS because of that.
Westside Steve Posted March 3, 2016 Author Report Posted March 3, 2016 I think we all got that. In fact it took me a while to notice. Good to know. WSS
The Cysko Kid Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 So no one has a good reason to vote for her I guess. At least a few of you ( notably vapor and eds) were able to drum up good reasons to vote for trump
gftChris Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 So no one has a good reason to vote for her I guess. At least a few of you ( notably vapor and eds) were able to drum up good reasons to vote for trump Her corrupt politicking happens to align more closely with my personal worldview, and social matters are more important to me than economic right now. But I'm fully aware that she's just another in a long line of 'say what you want to hear' politicians who only serve their backers, not voters.
bbedward Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Her corrupt politicking happens to align more closely with my personal worldview, and social matters are more important to me than economic right now. But I'm fully aware that she's just another in a long line of 'say what you want to hear' politicians who only serve their backers, not voters. I'm convinced that Clinton is more racist, more misogynistic than Trump. She opposed gay marriage until 2013, etc, etc. Not that she's racist by normal definitions (neither is Trump), but by Salon-definitions she's definitely more racist Trump has hired women executives forever ago when you were allowed to be sexist - and they all came out and said they loved working with him. While Hillary was shutting up Bill's sex assault victims and publicly shaming them I'm just saying she's not very progressive on social issues.
gftChris Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 I don't think she personally is, but she will do/say what is needed to get in power, same as most of the people running, and the things she needs to say to keep the democrat base happy (as opposed to the republican rhetoric of guns and abortion) match what I would expect.
Westside Steve Posted March 3, 2016 Author Report Posted March 3, 2016 Not to have to point it out but buggery is legal over here. So many of us would rather fine tune the economy. WSS

Intellectually I think those people should be bright enough to know that it isn't going to happen. http://reddit.com/r/sandersforpresident Ideologically, I align most closely with Bernie of all the candidates. The amount of delusion there is staggering.
jrb12711 Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 At least I can agree with you all that Hill-dawg blows too. At this point I'm apt to write my half-eaten turkey sandwich for president.

Westside Steve Posted March 3, 2016 Author Report Posted March 3, 2016 Booo Douche Nozzle. Shit Sandwich is better! Like the old joke: Life is a shit sandwich. The more bread you have the less shit you gotta eat. WSS
jrb12711 Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Booo Douche Nozzle. Shit Sandwich is better! In all seriousness I really can't wait to see in 30+ years the relevance of South Park to the world around us. I truly believe that show could go down as the best show ever created, especially considering how each show is made on a weekly basis as opposed to all at once.
OldBrownsFan Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 I don't get the logic of Hillary Clinton's pitch and why that would want to make anyone vote for her. A: She says Obama has done a swell job and she will continue with his policies B: She says things are bad right now and she will make things better C: If things have been so swell under Obama why do we need her to make things better? If thing have been bad who has been president the last 7 years? And if things aren't so great under Obama and she is going to continue with Obama's policies why should we expect any different result under her presidency than we have had under Obama?
MLD Woody Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 Booo Douche Nozzle. Shit Sandwich is better! Giant Douche and Turd Sandwich
