THE BROWNS BOARD

Trump bump stock ban

Recommended Posts

I still get po'd at people who say stupid stuff - "assault weapon" (like semi-auto .22 LR ?)... "gun show loophole" (they heard you can freely buy guns all you want without background checks)....

"dangerous pistol grip and folding stock" (like that is two murder jobbies right there?)

Once I heard "pistols are small sneaky murder weapons"..."nobody ever uses guns to protect themselves" (I have a field day with that one)

and, "you all don't need to hunt anyways, we have grocery stores" ....

just stupid.

This. A competition trigger would have even produced the same rate of fire but don’t let anti-gunners know because then a bunch of people claiming to be pro 2A will sit there and let those be banned too.

Ok, so u agree with me that bump stocks are actually horrid and would desrtroy a good rifle. So why were they created? Nobody with an ounce of seriousness about owning a firearm in a responsible manner, would touch this rubbish. So why were they invented? To make money off rubbish little shitcunting wankers that chafe at the notion of one pull one round.....despite tge fact that military personnel never use their rifles on full auto if they're actually trying to kill something they have sighted. They only use full auto in short bursts fir suppressive fire.

I just dont see how other accessories like scopes and triggers, which never alter the one pull one round capability of the rifle......could  one day fall under the bump stock ban.

Dummies love toys and sometimes solutions in search of problems are created.

A bump stock is an accessory unrelated to the action of the gun. Think of all the things that are gun related that are unrelated to the functioning of the fire arm or cyclical rate. Optics, triggers, mags, muzzle brakes, so on. They could make life miserable. Having an R do it will make it pretty easy for Ds to say “well your guy did it”.

NJ is a lost cause. Anyone I know who wants to own guns without fear of cuffs moved across to PA.

How is a bump stock unrelated to the action? That sounds like hiding behind technicalities. I understand u xan simulate a bump stock  but u have to take ur hand off the grip, again no pro shooter is gonna do that. A bump stock allows u to keep ur rear hand on the grip .....i would venture a solid guess that fact makes a bump stocked AR more accurate out further.

It is the stock and nothing related to the action or operation (direct gas, short/long stroke piston, etc.). You aren’t altering internals.

The bumpstock is still bouncing the gun around in the stock mechanism so it is just as inaccurate as bouncing it shouldered with your hand mimicking the plastic insert for the bump stock.

Sport shooters use devices where you just pull a string to have the device pull the trigger inside a sled for accurate shots. It isn’t my cup of tea. That is more tinkerer than shooter by a long shot. But those guys are using a device unrelated to the cycling or sighting of the rifle but are artificially making it more accurate.

Just too loose of s decision for my liking to just lay down about it.

Sad! First bump stocks, then all of our guns.  Dirty Obamao strikes again. Next he's going to come for all of your guns!

wait...

After all the years of boogeyman rumors, Obama never pushed through an EO to hose gun owners. I don’t think it was because he was pro 2A by any means but he left it up to legislators.

He also had a Republican House and Senate. But it's good you are so trusting.

Where did I ever infer trust in either party? Obama had openings to trot out EOs and didn’t. They wouldn’t have to go through the legislative process. Trump has the same opportunity, he is.

I don’t think any pressure was put on Obama while he was prez to issue EO’s regarding firearms.

None of the mass shootings were blamed on BO during his tenure.

Naturally, the MSM lays blame on Trump for every mass shooting...and for the sun not shining everyday.

Baby steps. Come on don't be naive. First you legalize controlling the number of rounds a gun can carry. Which means anything over a single shot bolt action could easily be outlawed. I don't suppose England was neutered in one day.

Correctly if any of that crap was enforceable and across-the-board I could live with it.

That is not ok but at the same time it doesn’t get a pass from me on relenting on  2A support. This won’t be the end of it as far as this action being used as a later justification.

Being naive isn’t it. It is a matter of not spitting on it before they slide it in on gun owners. But it seems the protesting to it is selective and political. It is like when the anti war movement disappered after Obama got in office.

All of those were for research and awareness. The guy was not pro 2A as discussed previously but, like the Forbes article said, none of impacted gun owners.

I imagine they got real quiet after looking more at the numbers. All violent crime, including gun crime, has been dropping for years.

Banning ‘Bump Stocks’ Won’t Solve Anything

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/06/opinion/banning-bump-stocks-wont-solve-anything.html

Without coming out and saying it directly the author is really wanting a ban on assault rifles and that is the goal of the gun grabbers.  Banning of bumpstocks may be feel good legislation but with 82 percent of the public wanting a ban of bump stocks I would rather see supporters of 2A  more focused on fighting the battle to keep another "assault weapons" ban from happening again like we had in the 90's that fortunately had a 10 year sunset clause that Bush allowed to expire.  Once the dems gain power again no doubt if they get another assault weapons ban there will be no sunset clause.

I get that the gun control crowd is out to incrementally take away gun control rights and they are probing every avenue in their attempt to do it. Although they would like more sweeping legislation to take away gun rights all at once they know they can't do that so they try to take away gun rights bit by bit and I see the reason why those who support 2A fight them at every step but I don't see bump stocks as the hill to die on for those fighting the gun grabbers.
