so, it's another liberal lie. liberals love pollution. of electric cars? children's minds? our air? national forests?

liberals never solve problems - they make them worse. Everything they do is for personal power, power in gov, greed.....

no, no. It's just that the whole idea of electric cars is bogus, and the left that favors it, is deliberately being obtuse, or....

they have ulterior motives for believing stupid garbage.

the electric cars don’t emit emissions from an engine

gas cars emit emissions from BOTH the engine AND the tires

See the difference?

How will you dispose of 50,000,000 bad batteries every year or so?

The gap in logic here from cals thread title to the actual article on the study is so obvious and yet he seems to miss it every time. Looks like Browns already pointed it out

Also strange to so strongly take a political view against EVs. Talk about being brought by lobbyists and oil companies...

Anything remotely related to progress and they're up in arms

that is a nonsense reply. The problems with electric cars goes farther than this bit about the tires.

Landfills are contained. They don’t get into the water

Your conservative politicians have told to not like EVs. Those politicians line their pockets with oil and gas companies. You pull the party line. Nothing more.

EVs are clearly the right direction to go, and they'll continue to get better.

A sad representation of the UM's indoctrination again 🥴

Woodsucker continues to pull the party line w/o doing his homework.

It rains... And water seeps through... Therefore... contaminating the ground.. and whatever water stands or accumulates inside... This is a totally bad idea...

I go to, and deal with numerous landfills. They are some of the most regulated facilities in the world

All of the water and run-off is taken care of

Plus there are designated landfills for hazardous waste

They won’t be getting rid of the batteries in a normal facility

People also ask

Are batteries bad for landfills?

Image result for landfills and battery
1) Improperly disposed batteries contribute to water and air pollution. When depleted batteries are tossed into the trash, they end up in landfills where they decay and leak. As batteries corrode, their chemicals soak into soil and contaminate groundwater and surface water.

Battery Recycling is Important for Environmental Health

Do electric car batteries go to landfills?

But eventually those batteries, along with the toxic chemicals that can leach out of them, could end up in hazardous waste landfills. There are no EV-battery recycling plants in California, and only five up and running nationwide, according to CalEPA.Jan 27, 2022

no, not true.

How Landfills Contaminate the Groundwater. If you live near a landfill, this is a scenario you should be concerned about: ·The landfill began accepting waste before 1990. ·Groundwater in your area flows from the landfill in the direction of your home. ·The groundwater is your home's water supply and/or the groundwater is very shallow (50 ...

Heavy metals can contaminate private wells through groundwater movement and surface water seepage and run-off. People that consume high levels of heavy metals risk acute and chronic toxicity, liver, kidney, and intestinal damage, anemia, and cancer.

that is heartening, but as I posted, there are closed landfills that are very, very bad. and I can't imagine batteries not being just discarded along some dump roadside in a lot of distant rural/country areas around the country.

electric car fans love forced labor making those car's batteries. slavery.

There isn't any legitimate defense of being all in on electric cars. Estimated TWICE AS MUCH "global warming" potential, uses DOUBLE the amount of energy than producing a combustion engine care.

Just another imaginary utopian fiasco libs like woody glue themselves to.

A great read:

Firstly, producing an electric vehicle contributes, on average, twice as much to global warming potential and uses double the amount of energy than producing a combustion engine car. This is mainly because of its battery. Battery production uses a lot of energy, from the extraction of raw

The size of a EV battery will make it almost impossible to just throw away.

You can’t just throw it away in your garbage can. Plus it most likely would have to be replaced by a mechanic. Making them responsible for it’s disposal

Just wait until you see the cost to replace that battery.  Just throw the car away also.
