Are you saying blacks are more violent?

Diversity creates tribalistic conflicts. The so called happiest socialist nations in the world the Democrats would always have you look at? Yeah, go ahead and take a look at their populations and demographics.

Chicago there is mostly black on black shootings.

That's why BLM and Democrats ignore it.

I'm still waiting to hear some good answers to some very bad problems.

Things are getting worse by the month.

Causes run deep.

.....oh I'm pro gun,  shooter for 60+ years.

Maybe we should put up “No Guns Allowed” signs at the front of every school.

Yes, that should do it. 🤔

My doctor has one on his office front door.......I'm sure that will work.

After watching the news on and off all afternoon I'm pretty sure there will be some new gun legislation passed that we do not have now.

Perfect timing during a mid year election.

And I haven't heard anything today about the Russian War going on.  Hmmmm.  How many times have these things just faded away we'll have to see what happens now.

this last shooter walked RIGHT INTO THE SCHOOL. I didn't know entry restrictions weren't everywhere.

generally, from our experience, you can walk into the first front door, but you have to have notice ahead of time, show your ID, or you do NOT get in.

They are, something went drastically wrong here.  No locked doors everywhere.  No in-house armed  security guard.

A lot of questions yet to be answered.   You MUST at least do the basic things right, every time.

John Douglas the fbi profiler (retired now) had written some fascinating books. I listen to them when I'm driving between jobs which is quite a lot. He says for a violent crime to happen you need both motive and opportunity. If the opportunity is the guns which will be hard, very hard, to seize and control at this point owing to the hundreds and hundreds of millions of them already on the streets what is the motive and how do we control it?

In the 70s and 80s serial killers were especially prevalent. Serial killing is often a lust or a control motive. What's the motive for mass shootings? Given it's rise following columbine in 1999 I think it's largely fame and infamy. How do we curb that without having to go house to house in running gun battles seizing property?

Neuter the internet. It won't solve everything anymore than all the guns will solve violence but it'll make an immediate impact for the better on it. On many modern problematic behaviors in fact.

What do you mean by neuter?

There are many variables at play here...

... But one group NEVER wants to look at the variance with only one purpose, killing people. Guns

Instead let's look at literally everything else. Everything else that has multiple uses and utility. Let's go after those things and not the one thing that was used exactly as fucking intended...

I mean, it would be too hard to improve the gun situation. That doesn't sound fun. Who wants to do anything hard? Better to not do anything at all (except blame other things)

back in the day, kids owned their own guns, and hunted. didn't have the school gun problem. didn't have the library church shootings.

Pretty much everybody had guns back then.

guess what.

something is wrong, and it is not gun ownership.

That also comes with real dangers.  As you stated earlier, we are way more diverse here.  If people feel marginalized now with all this freedom...can you imagine?

I think they'd feel less marginalized if they weren't being told they were marginalized daily by a constant propaganda machine, frankly.

It's definitely only the race thing

So for any group facing inequalities, etc your advice for them is to shut up and deal with it?

Again they can put every rule and law they can think of on new gun sales. Im ok with that. I'm not a gun guy. That would be preferable, even. But...that doesn't even begin to approach the problem because as I've said about 1000 times there's hundreds and hundreds of millions of them already out there on the streets. Not like ten. Not like a million or so in Australia where there's 7000 people and they're all Steve Irwin. Hundreds and hundreds of millions. Probably more guns than people somehow. So it only puts a slight cramp on the opportunity it doesn't really address it. It's a feel good measure. At least until the next slaughter.

If you really want to address this and you don't want to limit the motive - the easy access thing that drives the germ of the idea and eggs it on until it becomes an obsession (not to mention drives the incredible hate and division we see in nearly all aspects of life outside of the daily massacres) then you have to erase the opportunity - total gun ban or at least super draconian measures that not only stop the new ones being sold but also remove the ones already lying around except for, I don't know, bolt action hunting rifles and revolvers maybe. But in the course of doing that I forsee a lot of trouble and a rather high body count possibly actually triggering the civil war that both sides of this issue are already spoiling for. Why this dark outlook? Why don't I think these gun people will give up their shit willingly? I mean...look around. You can freeze ammo and that but there's already an estimated 1 trillion rounds in private hands and many people are able to make their own ammo already.

I would do these things but and say cool but I don't think you can expect to see a reduction in gun violence for decades at best with measures like that. You can't tackle the obesity epidemic by limiting candy sold to black licorice when there's cake just lying around everywhere you look. Gotta take the cake too.

I hate to say it again but, my friends, the genie is already out of the bottle. More drastic measures are going to be needed to try and push it back in. AR-15 new sales bans are a pat yourself on the back feel good measure and rather than being a barrier to mass murderers it's s hoop to jump through. You reckon they'll call off their massacre because they don't want to be seen with an old gun? We're not talking about iPhones here. They dont go obsolete.

Yeah? How's Sweden doing with all that and now a big fat dollop of diversity?

How about they live their lives? Say you break up with a girl and then you spend all day every day staring at pictures of her, pining, and feeling sorry for yourself. Where does that get you?

I don't suppose you have noticed exactly how many people consider themselves marginalized these days. Why, I bet a number of posters here consider themselves marginalized and pine for the days of "real America" and what not.

Every-damn-body faces inequality. Unless they're in the ultra rich class there's inequality, comrade. Always has always will. There is no such thing as equity. It's a fucking pipe dream. This is objectively the best time in history to be alive but if you listen to a bunch of people on the internet you'd think you'd be better off living in any other time in history.

How long are you going to stomp and pout that life just isn't fair? Until you're old and gray and you've pissed your life away and die a bitter old man with your bottom lip pooching out mumbling "ain't fair"

Nothing is fair. We don't have the ability for everyone to have the best of everything. Fairness is everyone having the worst of everything. That's fair. You don't really want the playing field to be level you just think you do.

Well maybe if you're Gen X or a Boomer, but the 'victim' generations would melt.

I'm not saying it wouldn't work to some capacity, but it would be playing the long game.  It would be a bloodbath for a while.

The question is why does this country create a much higher number of lunatics?  I'm starting to wonder if it's just a side effect of capitalism plus diversity.

Remember when you were a kid and you had a particular friend who would come over and play Nintendo?  Right before you were about to beat him at the game he would reach over and hit the reset button because if he couldn't win, no one could.  So even if you could keep him from the unit, he would search for the plug, shut off the tv, etc.  So maybe we take away the easiest option at their disposal to wreck the game, but they are still going to suck and their thought process is still there.

Capitalism is by far the best system, but it still creates a nasty byproduct.  Sore losers.  Now add in diversity.....BOOM!  Like mixing an oxidizer and a solvent.

In short, take away anything you want and we still have a lunatic problem.

If there was a leak in your boat and it was sinking what would you do first?

Plug the leak or start bailing out water?

You plug the leak.

"Hey female, stop complaining about not being able to vote. We're all victims in our own way! Just live your life! It's 1918, this is the best time in history to be alive!"

Just because something isn't an inequality to you, or doesn't effect you, doesn't mean that it isn't worth fighting to improve.

The bulk of people that want to live in a different time are older folks that want to go back to the 50s for "reasons" and would have zero grasp on why someone from a different race/ethnicity wouldn't.

Temporary patch won't last very long, you're not solving anything you're just giving yourself a temporary good feeling I did something.  Which in the end could be worse it gives a sense of false security and people let down their guard and then BOOM!

well, that is an insult to all the minorities who have been very, very successful in public and private life. Millions of them. But lbj's "great society" - created a slovenly subculture that feels entitled to be taken care of. Getting pregnant while single, gov money takes care of you. more kids unmarried, gov takes care of you. etc etc.

Just one - but there are millions.

so, there is a serious epidemic of fatherless homes.

Ramos - fatherless. demanded his mother buy him a phone.

harassed girls on the internet. etc etc etc etc.

"wanted his name out there".

Like I said - the failure to properly self-actualize. It runs rampant on the streets, in schools where kids don't get the help or discipline they need.

read the article - it speaks volumes:
