From SI The Spun : .....Colin Kaepernick worked out for the Las Vegas Raiders two weeks ago, opening the door to a long-awaited NFL return. Derek Carr doesn't seem to mind the possibility. Per ESPN's Paul Gutierrez, Carr told reporters Tuesday that Kaepernick would "be great" in their locker room. "I don't want to speak for everybody in that kind of sense -- I don't want someone mad at me for saying, 'I think it would be great,' -- but I know him and I would get along great," Carr said. "I know we have in the past, and I think we would again. I think for the most part, I think he'd get along great with our guys." Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since 2016, and the Raiders represented the quarterback's first official workout since. He wasn't As long as they're not colluding, teams can do as they see fit. Could he get back into it now? Idk. You're basically using a roster spot to develop an old QB (he'll need time to get back) instead of using that spot on a rookie QB or something. Unless he's killing it in closed workouts I don't think it's worth it. He looked good at Michigan's spring game but those were just throwing drills. Like everybody else if he could play the game before and has stayed in shape no reason he can't still play if the surroundings are what they need to be. If not nobody is going to look great. Starter for any reason other than injury.. no, he was one and run even in his last years playing. But it is funny to see people thinking anyone would sign him to a contract seemingly on the spur of the moment. Even players drafted in low rounds are interviewed - UDFA's who are cut candidates also. Has any NFL team ever signed someone without first talking to them and/or working them out? In 2013 12-4 career high 21 TDs 3197 yards in his last winning season 9 years ago ! And was SF that bad ? I thought he was some hot-shot QB before he got kicked out of football. Hmmmmmmmm.
