No it was the secondary years ago…the LBs the second year…the IDL this past year.  Nevermind he had 7 of the 8 top picks the past three years invested in defensive players.  We apparently didn’t give him enough.

They didn't have anyone to replace him with in the Defensive staff which is why he was fired pretty much after the final whistle on Sunday.

I thought the HC did take into account.  He tried like hell to run the ball.  31 times.  They just weren't able to run it down the field.  And, of course, on D we had nothing for their Wild Cat desperation.  As not great as our DT's are we are really into the depth chart at LB.

Run plays 31 times but unimaginative plays, could've had more designed runs for Watson, Kareem and Chubb simultaneously on the field, direct snaps to RB etc.

  3. Finally watched the game, I like Watson’s progression and he made a few elite sideline throws I haven’t seen since the return. Defense also made one of its sporadic appearances this season which if had been more consistent would’ve been good for 2-3 more wins this season.
Cade York is worrisome but he’ll get another season to hopefully figure things out. DPJ is legit, hope he’s paid next season.

It's not hard to look much better than he was against Houston....79.1 qb rating?.....not anything I would get excited about. I can't wait to see that jump from this to..."elite, top 5 qb".

Dallas struggled against Houston, needed a game winning drive at the end of the 4th quarter to win it. We can agree Dallas is much better than the Browns this season.

Ted Williams gave a lot of his prime to his country, he came back and didn't miss a step.

Muhammad Ali, a coward who self-imposed a long layoff came back to top form in a short period of time.

Watson is making roughly 3 million dollars for a.60 minute game. Fuck his warm up time. If the cocksucker needs 6 games to get back to his regular self? Then he needs to refund the Browns for those gdidn't,

We didn't pay for this shit.

Muhammad Ali a coward? 😂😂 I didn't continue reading after that

I know what you are saying - but his suspension was only about 330 days, and  the rest, he did to himself. He is responsible for his own troubles. Plenty of time to work on his mechanics on his own.

He may start being a terrific qb next year...or not. Still a sad situation.

Self inflicted doesn't matter in the reality of things it's still almost 2 years not playing at game speed. The good news is that his play noticeably improved from last week so maybe by the end of the season we'll see the DeShaun we paid for. I watched part of the game and there was a near sack with his legs wrapped up where he still made a long completion. I'm optimistic for the future.

reasons for the "superstar" super qb, but always excuses for Baker. got  it.  It isn't llike watson has only been with the Browns for three days, and expecting him to direct a game winning TD drive and get a game ball for 230 million and three draft choices......

Baker didn't have a 700 day lay off. When the NFL extended Watson's suspension from 6 to 11 games, our season was effectively over, we hoped otherwise but it is what is.

Ya gotta like him.  A solid receiver.  6 targets 5 catches.  He makes difficult catches.  And I love the smoothness of Aamari Copper.

Too bad that two TE's in a row could not catch brissett fastballs.  Bryant and Pharoh Brown.  They cost us a TD.

The 7th ranked run defense held Chubb to 19 yards.  They clearly focused on stopping the run.  Of course losing our starting backup center right off the bat didn't help the cause.

It was a difficult game to watch....while knowing that they were going to lose.   I chopped 2 cups of onions and 2 cups of celery on the coffee table for my stuffing on Thursday, while watching the 2nd half.  A very productive waste of time.  :)

I don't understand why Pharaoh Brown and Harrison Bryant are being targeted in the end zone (or even on the field) instead of Njoku. Missed 14 points there, sometimes Stefanski is too cute instead of play designing his playmakers into the game. Amari Cooper had a great game should have paired that with Njoku since the Bills game planned against Chubb.

We should've traded him when we had a chance...

HASLAM hired all of the Head Coaches you've complained about back to back to back to back to back.

IMO, it all starts at the top.  For example, the New England Patriots are owned by Robert Kraft.  The Head Coach Kraft hired was Bill Belichick.  They have won 6 Super Bowl rings together.

Eddie DeBartolo hired Bill Walsh as his Head Coach.  Bill Walsh went on to win 6 NFC Championships and 3 Super Bowl Titles.  That carried over to George Seifert who also won 2 Super Bowl Titles.

Art Rooney hired Chuck Noll as his Head Coach.  Chuck Noll went on to win 4 Super Bowl Titles.  The Rooney family has won 2 more Super Bowls since then - and lost 2.

Aside from multiple Super Bowl Championships, what do all of those organizations have in common?  Hall of Fame QBs: Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Steve Young and Terry Bradshaw.

Jack Kent Cooke hired Joe Gibbs as his Head Coach. Joe Gibbs went on to win 3 Super Bowls with Joe Theismann, Doug Williams and Mark Rypien.  What happened as soon as Daniel Snyder became the owner?

To be the franchise you want us to be - the upgrade needed is indeed the OWNER.  Today, we're at the mercy of Jimmy Haslam's hiring criteria or lack thereof.  Because of this, you're not going to get the type of game changer needed at the Head Coaching spot.  Even worse, but as usual, you're probably not even going to get an upgrade over Jimmy's last HC choice that needed to be fired.  A guy like Sean Payton won't walk his career out to the edge of a plank for Haslam when/if better owners want him.  No reason to.

Believe it or not, I think you're an intelligent guy; but your frustration level wants the problem to be as easy as Haslam firing another Head Coach.

Some rationality after a not so surprising loss. FNIA showed how the Dolphins have the ideal playmakers to counter our zone defense. Offensively I was surprised they countered our run game so well however. Whether we like it or not Stefanski gets at least one full year with Watson, and Haslam won't undermine him by pressuring him to change DC's mid season.
