  1. No surprise... I just hope he's not musty and rusty.... And please stay upright Joe.. I've seen more than enough of Walker to know he doesn't belong on an NFL field. https://www.nfl.com/news/browns-qb-joe-flacco-to-start-vs-rams-dorian-thompson-robinson-concussion-ruled-
  2. Should we shed a tear for Huey? Probably not, and he's got his million$$. Um, "that dog won't hunt", or "that man can't coach"?
  3. Dayton still has the Duck Inn. 😉
  4. A little bit of a drama queen. You can catch their daily report... though Myles didn't practice he was working out on the sidelines, and says he's going to play. Pop? A dislocation that spontaneously went back into place? More takes- DTR didn't practice. Looking more & more like we're going to see Joe Sunday. Unfortunately Aaron Donald is healthy. Amari Cooper said he's playing. More concerning is Hospital Ward DNP- again. We sure could use him with the Rams having WRs like Puka and Cooper Kupp.
  5. The Hershel Walker trade is history, the final chapters of the Watson trade are yet to be written..... did Carolina make a bad move? Mmmmmm? The Panthers are close to making a bold move to trade up to the top overall pick in this year's draft thanks to a deal with the Chicago Bears Friday. According to multiple reports, the Panthers will send the Bears the ninth overall pick in this year's draft, the late second-rounder acquired from the 49ers (61st overall), along with next year's first-round pick, a 2025 second-rounder, and wide receiver DJ Moore to get to the No. 1 overall choice in this year's draft. The deal won't be official until the start of the league year next Wednesday. So effectively, it cost Carolina a first, two seconds, and a player..... For an unknown quantity. Watson was a pro bowl level known quantity. People are whining about Watson's contract, but the only difference is the guaranteed money. Other QB contracts have more on the table. Them thar Bungles are paying Joe Burrow $19 millinion tis year to have his wrist fixed.
  6. Watched the end of the MNF game, and anyone who thinks our game against the Bears is going to be a cakewalk had better reconsider. 😉
  7. Total agreement on Walker... I almost had to turn the game off he was sucking so bad. Though at 83 years old, I'd have to pass on Chuck Norris, Walker- Texas Ranger. PS- next body up? I saw Colt McCoy being suggested. 😉
  8. Yeah, another game we have to have. The division is out of reach, so we at least have to keep pace with the Steelers. They have winnable games the rest of the way out until they play the Ravens last game. We have the Jags and Texans, pushovers no longer.
  9. When you want to turn a close loss into a rout... Put in Walker. The ghost of Ernest Byner lives in Denver... How many lost fumbles? Browns needed to play error free ball to win, nowhere close. Too bad because JOK had a monster game.
  10. I can't find the video Steve, but it's floating around here somewhere. The hit that caused the injury was pretty obvious. Watson got simultaneously sandwiched high between two Ravens defenders. He could have gotten lucky, and just gotten a broken collarbone instead.
  11. I'm not suggesting that I'm against a move to Flacco, but you had better believe DTR is at least going to get the Rams game to prove he's not ready for prime time. Yeah, those crowing about Joe destroying the Browns.... Can we say outlier? Just like the Broncos could have been on the historical losing end of ignominiously giving up a record number of points against the Dolphins- except the 'Fins did the mercy rule and pulled their starters. Regarding the Jets game last year... Bullshit. I was at the game, and it's one of the very few I left early (the game was in the bag) it took an epic Cleveland defensive collapse and an onside kick recovery. Joe was 59% passing that game and lost a fumble. There is no way in hell the Browns should have lost that game. 🤬
  12. 1) It's been suggested DTR didn't throw deep because Stefanski wouldn't let him throw deep. Having his receivers drop seven passes that hit them in the hands didn't help either. I've been screaming about Kev's turtle ball game plan. Not only were the Steelers playing nine in the box, they were sitting on the short routes too. FWIW, DTR SHOULD have plenty of arm. The combine jugs gun said his release speed was up in the Josh Allen range. So let's see how DTR does in Denver before we call him a lost cause. 2) Flacco shake off rust? More like finds the fountain of youth. There's a reason the Jets didn't give him a call when Rodgers went down. They had seen enough of Joe, and were of the opinion he's not very good. Even career wise, that's pretty much true.
  13. 'peen it happens every year without fail Teams that you thought were going to suck- don't. Sorry- Denver and the Rams are very winnable games. Yeah, the home game against the Bears is a game they should win. Houston is playing surprisingly good football, but not in my "must win" category. But finishing off against the Jets on TNF, and then the Bengals on the road? Win 'em both.
  14. I didn't.. For those keeping track, Dorsey is now the Senior Personnel Director for the LIONS. Their talent acquisition in the draft has been rather good of late. 😉
  15. I Googled the procedure on YouTube. They may have repaired the break with arthroscopic surgery. Amazing what they can do these days.. But to be honest, I couldn't tell exactly what they were doing. Other than it looked like they were using industrial grade sutures from the back of the glenoid to sew the fracture back in place and stabilize it. 6-12 week recovery period, and for an NFL quarterback I'd probably say on the high side .
  16. OK, so throw DTR under the bus after two games. 🙄 There's a reason why Joe Flacco was unemployed for so long, he STUNK last year with the Jets.
  17. Like I posted elsewhere mjp... I'd rate the Steelers SOS even lower than #26. Sunday will tell us a lot... Almost have to root for the Bengals. MHO as of now they're less of a threat than the Steelers. And yes Bob, it's much more pleasant late November to be discussing playoff scenarios than 2024 draft order.

    Playoffs

Some playoff thoughts. The Bungles game this Sunday against the Steelers is pretty much their season. A loss puts them at 5-6, 0-4 in the division, and 1-6 in the Conference. Stick a fork in them, they're done. OTOH, the Browns had better keep winning, because the Steelers have by far the easiest schedule the way out. Wounded Bengals twice, Cardinals, Patriots, Colts, then finish up with the Seahawks and Ravens. Can the Browns cool off a hot Broncos team on the road? Stay tuned.
  19. LOL, Wilson Pickett was much better at music than Kenny is at football... 172 passing ypg, 6TD, 4 Ints, and a blazing 79 qbr. Playing don't make mistakes Kenny.. The Steelers MO is to hang on to a bad apple coach far longer than any other organization would.
  20. Yes, true.... See below... Can't forget that they beat the Chiefs in that stretch either... But for the sake of argument you're both right. Tossing out the anomaly where they got boat raced by the Dolphins to the tune of 350 rushing yards, they're averaging a much more respectable 138 ypg rushing. It's what you can on do on a rainy day when you're retired with nothing much going on. 😉
  21. To beat a dead horse, or Bronco many have pointed out the Steelers were stacking the box with 9 men all day... and they continued to do it all game. You beat that throwing over the top. As was pointed out Kev didn't let DTR throw a pass more than 15 yards all game. 🙄 I 1\2 buy the excuse that Stef was petrified Watt or Highsmith were going to cause a game changing strip sack. Of course Denver will try to copy the Steelers game plan. The huge difference there Tex is the Broncos defense is DEAD LAST in the NFL in yards allowed, and 5.5 yards per carry. Stay tuned to see if that trend continues Sunday. & PS I'm of the opinion that DTR's leash is a lot longer than some others here are giving him. The way this crazy season is playing out, there's no gimme games anymore, but as I've said elsewhere- 3-4 the rest of the way out should punch the Browns ticket to the playoffs.
  22. Ask me after the Denver game. Final game in Cincinnati? Could be the Bengals will have their bags packed and plane reservations ready to go. Houston and the Jaguars- maybe. I'm hoping for a payback win in Mile High. We're going to win out. 😉
  23. In related Donkey news... Starting (cheap shot artist)SS Kareem Jackson is suspended again for cheap shotting Josh Dobbs Sunday.
  24. A lot of iffs there tia... that would be way cool should the Browns host a playoff game in like forever. Not exactly, the Steelers would have to lose to the Bengals once, and\ or the Browns have a better record than the Steelers. Otherwise, we both end up at 4-2 in the Division, then it gets complicated. Don't get me started on the complexity of a three way tie with the same records.
  25. Count not your chickens before they hatch mjp.... However, as of today the Browns are in the pole position in the wildcard race at 7-3... Why I was harping that the Steelers game was critical. Browns (only) need to go 3-4 to get to 10 wins. (4-3 and we're in, take it to the bank) Two other teams sit at 6-4, Steelers & Texans, meaning they have to go 4-3 to get to 10. There's a bunch of clubs sitting at 5-5, but they'll all need to go 5-2.... It scares me a little with the upcoming game in Denver. Historically we've played like crap against the Donkeys, plus (see above) they're going to be fighting for their playoff lives. They can ill afford more than a couple losses to have any chance at playoff land. PS- that was more lousy scheduling (thanks for nothing NFL) putting that game on Thanksgiving weekend- to screw up my bucket list adventure. Worst travel day of the year. EDIT to my betting fan... Browns open as 1.5 point dogs to the Broncos.
