Well I can say this..your O line still sucks. Pickett isn't gonna be your savior. I'm sure you can't deny that your Steelers are gonna be the basement dwellers this season.

Two of those guys are completely new to the team. I'm surprised at how poorly Daniels has played but qb mobility cancels out some of that as does Najee Harris who is top 5 in pass pro easily. The line definitely isn't great, that's for sure. I'm just glad Pickett looks very good as the line is easily fixed in the draft. I also expect them to go after some guys still on the market because the line hasn't been very good.

That Pickett dude is disturbing. From what I've heard he's been lighting it up in camp.

Threw a TD pass against Jax starters I believe. One or 2 last week.

The kid looks like he should be a Cleveland Brown. Watson belongs in Pittsburg

Pickett started slowed in camp and has gotten progressively better each week. The dude is just cool as a cucumber all the time.

Are you fellas ready to have your balls blown off?

Well, it's Brian Brennan time here in the little thread that could! Brennan, a fan favorite (because if there is something Cleveland fans just love, its small white players!) in his eight seasons with the Browns. Drafted in the 4th round in 1984, this Boston College teammate of Doug Flutie had himself a very nice career, finishing with 334 receptions for 4336 yards and 20 touchdowns. His touchdown reception vs the Broncos in the 1986 AFC Championship was possibly the high point of the Browns franchise in the Super Bowl era. They would never get closer to a Super Bowl than that.

Brennan still lives in the Cleveland area, he and his college sweetheart wife Bethany live in Pepper Pike and have three kids. Brian is a manager at the Key Bank headquarters, where it is rumored he can be heard saying "Dollar, dollar bills, ya'll".

If this is going to be a continual thing with you I'm just going to read the first sentence of each one and move on. I laughed out loud, again. 😂

I wonder if Jimmah is having buyer’s remorse?

At 230M fully guaranteed with all that draft capital he most definitely should be. Especially when you consider how much football he will have missed by the time he actually sees the field. The contract will never not be moronic and Haslam has his pants down around his ankles with the million in year one so Watson didn't lose a bunch of money. The 5 million dollar fine ain't shit to him either.

  5. Watson is such a dirt bag. Yes I know I'm a steeler fan as the majority of the board already knows. The Browns should just never let the guy open his damn mouth. He just digs the hole deeper. Everytime he talks he shows no remorse, admits to zero wrong doing. It's sociopathic. Before anyone says anything about Ben the only reason I could stomach the guy is because he was a stallion under center. He annoys the fuck out of me most of the time despite my defense of him here for years on years. He also didn't have 66 therapists and 20 plus accusers. The Browns need to gag order Watson. Dude is a POS.

Holy shitballs, a thousand apologies upon all of you fine people, I've made you wait most of the day for an update on former Browns standout defensive back Terrance "Money Mitch" Mitchell! Money Mitch - who played for the Browns from 2018-2020 - now plays for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots! Here's a super duper video of Terrance causing a fumble in the Pats preseason game.

Holy shit balls is so underused. It’s been in heavy rotation for me for a looooooong time. Laughed out loud reading that. 😎😂

Seems like Ben's enjoying his retirement 😳

Ben Roethlisberger: Today’s young players are coddled

“I feel like the game has changed,” Roethlisberger said on that point. “I feel like the people have changed in a sense. Maybe it’s because I got spoiled when I came in. The team was so important. It was all about the team. Now, it’s about me and this, that and the other.

“I might be standing on a soapbox a little bit, but that’s my biggest takeaway from when I started to the end. It turned from a team-first to a me-type attitude. It was hard. It’s hard for these young guys, too. Social media. They’re treated so well in college. Now, this new NIL stuff, which is unbelievable. They’re treated so special. They’re coddled at a young age because college coaches need them to win, too. I know coach [Terry] Hoeppner never coddled me [at Miami of Ohio]. Neither did [Bill] Cowher.”

Big Ben is a dirt bag. Loved him on the field, especially in his prime but he has never, ever been a likable dude. I'd defend him here and defend him in general as a diehard fan but I'm not at all surprised he's foaming at the mouth already. He was a skirt chasing shit lord before marriage and now he's a churchy loud mouth after marriage. He needs to stfu and enjoy retirement.

No they didn't.  Don't listen to steeler fans.  An organization would never tell the player that they're planning on getting someone else in to take his job.  That would be dumb.

The steelers did with mitch trubisky. Why do you think the dude is/was so mad?

  9. 1 minute ago, Bob806 said:

Correct, they did do him dirty. Plus, my hunch ( & probably many others) is since they signed DW to such a ridiculous contract, the Browns are kinda blackballed in NFL circles.

If Carolina beats the Browns week 1, Haslam should sell the team. Oh shit, the Browns never win week 1.

If I were a Browns fan I'd want nothing more than for that goober to sell the team. I also agree. The Browns likely pissed a lot of teams off with that deal. A fully guaranteed contract for that amount reset the market.

The Browns and Berry did Mayfield like a fucking chicken wing... I hope he soars... These assholes don't deserve shit...

Agreed. Baker isn't the be all end all but I don't think hes bad either. He was done dirty to the fullest degree. The Steelers before they signed trubisky apparently told him straight up if Pickett was available they were taking him. He still signed but he knew it was in the cards. I still can't believe the Browns managed to fuck all this up so bad.

Hmm...Higgins a good target?  'As Collinsworth said, He's not fast nor does he run particularly good routes.'     He's a CB's dream receiver.

Collinsworth is a dipshit. He gets entirely too much credit as does PFF which he birthed. No way in hell do the Bengals let him go unless they are going full goofy ass mode. He's very legit.

5th rounder? Holy crap, that sucks.

No leg to stand on. I don't say this as a steeler fan. It's what happens when you do your qb dirty and the rest of the league knows and sees how disgruntled he is. The team at the very least should have let him know they were going to go after Watson, especially after they trotted the dude out there with a bum shoulder. I still say he should have sat and keenum should have played so he could get healthy. Now in hindsight to me it feels like Haslam wanted to dirty the dudes name so they could easily move to the equally stupid Watson deal.

Antonio brown should have went for a hell of a lot more than he did when he first got shipped out. However he melted down and his value was in the gutter. It was a damn Christmas miracle the steelers got what they did for him. I frankly figured he too would go for a 5th.

It's been hard to follow at times, with so many stories reported (or editorials).

Hard to defend the Haslams, but in their defense they stated they couldn't dig too deep due to the criminal investigations happening- I can believe. that take.

If they couldn’t “dig too deep” they should have steered clear of the entire situation. Hell the only reason he’s a brown and not a falcon is the insane contract he was offered. There comes a time where you have to mitigate the risk, especially when by all intents and purposes they’ve put together a pretty solid roster.

All that draft capital and all that money on a wild card. Haslam really shit down his leg here and the city suffers. If he gets anything less than a year people are going to flip out, especially with guys like Ridley catching a year for betting on his own team to win while he was sidelined. The nfl runs a fan duel ad every 10 minutes. You then add in roe v wade which is unrelated but still very much linked to womens rights and the public outrage will be insane. (No I will not debate roe v wade with anyone here, I didn’t mention it for that reason)

  14. It would be seriously weird to go to a steeler home game in a damn dome. I’d hate it and it’s not like I love being cold in November/December. However all of that is PART of the Steelers. The wind out of the open end is part of playing at Heinz etc. I also hated playing on turf, it seems nice at first but it’s easy to get hurt and at the nfl level it’s even more likely. Fuck domes and fuck turf and fuck the browns playing in a dome. Lol

I totally concur... It takes an exciting element away from the game... The game is essentially being catered to bunch of woke sissies... And Goodeel is the biggest sissy cheerleader of them all.. I agree with Jon Gruden when he says Goodell is pussifying the league...

I don’t think it has anything to do with being or not being woke. I agree goodell seriously sucks but don’t think gruden should be saying much of anything. Either way a dome in Cleveland goes against team culture. Pittsburgh runs a lot out of PPG when the weather sucks, the Q if it’s still the Q serves that purpose. Haslam is a dumbass for pushing a dome. Hell maybe he thinks he has enough bad pr with watson he might as well rip the bandaid off and mention a dome.

Because the last thing a midwestern Rust Belt city needs to do is spend a ton of money on a building that can barely be used to make money.

I love outdoor football. The nasty the weather, the better. Fiscally, it makes no sense, though.

Yea I agree. However Heinz gets used for plenty, weather permitting. I can’t imagine the Steelers ever playing in a dome and frankly the same goes for the browns.

Brain dead? Yeah- if some Browns fans don't want to think the ONLY reason Watson changed his mind was because of the $$$, you're right- they're brain dead.

Aw gee, guess the Browns are bad guys for resetting the compensation level of quarterbacks in the NFL arms race?  38 year old Aaron Rodgers has $150 million guaranteed over three years. Five years ago, Joe Q Fan thought it was nuts when the Vikings gave Kirk Cousins (when by today's standards) a piddly $80 million fully guaranteed.  Some eyebrows got raised when the Chiefs made news giving Mahomes 10 years and $450 million. So by those yardsticks, Five years $230 million isn't quite as outrageous as it sounds.

Yeah, the guy's low on the moral meter, but as was previously posted- there's tons of current and former NFL players who were worse. Should Watson lives up to his past performance level, and stay out of any further trouble.. He's going to be worth the price paid.. for your perusal VAg...

    https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WatsDe00.htm

PS- you remove Watson's baggage, and I count 14 NFL teams who would be thrilled to have him, and there were at least several other teams besides the Browns who wanted him with his baggage.   :)

The problem is all that money is fully guaranteed. You are also 100% correct on if the baggage is gone. However if the baggage were gone he may be a steeler. It's where he wanted to be based on several reports. I'm glad he's not at that cost.

    Can’t argue with that.

I can’t wait to see the quality of the Green Bay defense after giving Rogers that fat contract.

Unless something drastically happens with the salary cap, I expect that defense will be made up of cast offs and practice squad players.

You are going to find out how well the Browns can or can't draft in a hurry. It was a brain dead contract. Draft picks are justified.

  19. 13 minutes ago, Pavo Joe said:

Not only has Vag read the contract he has also declared that he refuses to hear one fucking peep about moral high ground from anyone here. A squeller fan on a Browns message board telling us what we can post. You could just go away.

Post what you want. I like some people here. I post here for that reason and just for interdivision news. I refuse to hear a peep about moral high ground from anyone here because most have been saying rapistburger for 20 years. Lol

Peep this, you now have 133m next season tied up in 6 players. You are going to have to get 47 guys signed for under 87m. Have fun!

What in the hell are you even talking about?  You knew Ben was a scumbag and didn't like him as a human but defended him because he's your qb. However you expect browns fans (who haven't seen their new qb be a scumbag) to not defend or be excited about their new qb. I'm just curious what makes you so special that you're allowed to defend a scumbag because he's your qb but browns fans can't be excited about their qb who is possibly (very likely even) a scumbag.

If you came on here and constantly shit on Ben when he played for you guys because he was a scumbag then you would have some consistency or moral high ground to stand on.  Otherwise you're just coming on here to start up shit or you're afraid how good the Watson led browns will be

I at no point said people couldn’t be excited about watson. I think the contract is insane. I think the contract is a massive risk and I think the contract sets a seriously stupid precedent that I hope the rest of the league doesn’t adopt. I’ve said multiple times how good he is. I’ve also said multiple times how insane the contract is and that doesn’t include the rest of the trade on top of it. He’s worth those draft picks.

As far as Ben is concerned he was a total moron as a young qb and then he became a bible thumper. I saw first hand the girls lining up outside his entourage at various bars in Pittsburgh. I have several personal stories either from me seeing it or friends telling me about it. I still stand by the notion that the dude didn’t rape anyone. Georgia was a sorority girl that had her feelings hurt when Ben didn’t want to lock it down and date. Either way I’m not rehashing all that bs for the 1000 time. Go back through the things I said and find where I said people shouldn’t be excited. I said I’d be irate if I were a steeler fan because 230 fully guaranteed is insane if the dude doesn’t stay on the straight and narrow. The browns also structured the contract in a really shady manner. If we are just talking football and nothing else, no contract no risk. He’s a stallion.

lastly the amount of rapistburger shit posted on here was daily and relentless I don’t want to hear a fucking peep about moral high ground when a large number of you aren’t saying shit about it. Although there are several not happy about it and for good reason. Watson didn’t want to come to Cleveland and the browns had to break every  damn trade barrier in the business to make it happen. I’m not going to post in this thread anymore. Better hope the dude stays on the straight and narrow because that contract is a bomb if anything goes wrong.
