    Re: Schwartz.

Pretty understood, from his time in DET, that he's sort of an asshole.  Now, he's closer to 60 than he was in 2010, so maybe he's chilled out a bit and took on an actual leadership role.

In the same theme, the man is closer to 60 now. He might not be interested in taking on a head coaching job at this point.

In his most recent or second most recent presser he said “as a professional I aspire to reach the highest level of my career” or something when asked about HC interest.

Whatever the exact quote was, it was basically a “yes I’m interested in being a HC again”

But it seems like he hasn’t been as hot of a candidate as some of the other DCs out there - haven’t seen him in any of the interview request news.

  2. End of an era, it’s still possible belichik won’t be the patriots coach next season too - I gotta think they are thinking pretty hard about Vrabel - maybe wanting to test the trade market though.

Everybody loves Flacco now but there is a potential nightmare scenario that I keep thinking about. Flacco nearly takes us to a Super Bowl and the next year, a certain team that could be potentially one QB away from going to the Super Bowl scoops him up. This team has a similar name to that of feces, it's the Stoolers I'm talking about of course. I was on a Stoolers board recently and saw them mention that they were pissed that they themselves didn't think about going after Flacco. Nightmare scenario is that he nearly misses a Super Bowl win here and go there and delivers another one to them on a silver platter. Can't imagine they would be happy with Mason Rudolph moving forward. And if Tomin doesn't pursuit him, he may be out on the streets next year if they miss the playoffs althogether.

There’s a lot of teams mad at themselves for not going after Flacco. They’ll be even madder if he does something crazy like starts winning playoff games. The Vikings are probably the most striking example of a playoff caliber team that needed a Flacco. Instead, they got a Dobbs

Cleveland fans should just enjoy the ride, it’s my favorite season since 99’ who cares about the QB next year.

If Flacco does somehow manage to make the Super Bowl, then who cares if the browns make Watson the highest paid QB2 of all time next year - and if they don’t retain Flacco, it’s not like Watson is bad (he’s just hated as a person).

I don’t think the Steelers go after any free agent QBs, it seems like it’s against their philosophy or something.

On the injury front... The good news is- Browns are activating Grant Delpit off of IR...  And in WTF news- Juan Thornhill still didn't practice yesterday...  He's been nursing that calf injury since week 10.  🙄

Thornhill returned to practice today, I'd expect him to go. I'm sure they'll still rotate in Hickman & Bell in some of their 3-safety looks, both of those guys have been excellent fill-ins.

Never works out in the favor of the team doing bad things to the terrible towel. I don't think a lot of people know the proceeds for the terrible towel go to a special needs school and have since it's inception. It's just bad karma. I guess that means the Browns are gonna get cj stroudified. Watch your ass!

Well hopefully the curse only affects Mike Ford and not the rest of the team then. He's pretty ass anyway, compared to the rest of the corners.

The jags shouldn't have stomped on the terrible towel. Steelers went 5-1 in the division with most under the worst coordinator in the NFL. I also think Lawrence is a bit of a bust. His mechanics fly right out the door far too often shoulder injury or not.

Yes I enjoyed every second. Lol

    Checking in on DeMeco, Texas

“Looking back at our first game against the Browns, it was a lot of self-inflicted penalties,” Ryans said. “We made big plays; they were negated by penalties or just mishaps on our part. Again, we have to play clean football versus a really good team. You can’t go out and make mistakes, or they’ll capitalize on it, and they’ve shown that time after time after time.”

The Texans finished the game with 10 penalties for 76 yards. Four were on the offensive line in the first half and then a few defensive pass interference calls set up touchdowns for the Browns.

“We gave up too many explosive passes and Amari [Cooper] had an outstanding game,” Ryans added. “Watching it again, he had some of the best catches I’ve seen all year, even though guys were in coverage and in position, he still made unbelievable catches. He had an outstanding game, so we just have to be in position to cover him better. We have to make plays to get off the field on third-down as well.”

CJ Stroud... Yep! That's our Buckeye QB.. buT,

CJ's still a Rookie QB, like DeMeco & his coaching staff. These Texans lost to the Jets & Panthers this season :o

Bring Jim Schwartz with the full #2 ranked coverage secondary playing smart coverage..

Joseph Vincent Flacco .. to his teammates:

"Something is going to happen in the next five weeks that we will all remember forever."

    #LFG  Flac'em

I really like our chances if we score more points than the Texans

  8. Add Mike Vrabel to the list, the most surprising so far probably:

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39272784/sources-titans-fire-coach-mike-vrabel-6-seasons

Not sure I get it, I think the titans were just a victim of aging stars that aren't really stars anymore - they need to enter rebuild mode, guess they want a new coach to lead the way through that.

Personally, I think the Jaguars coach has earned it too.

Pederson is so insanely stubborn with Press Taylor for some reason, maybe they have a secret relationship or something. That's his biggest problem as a coach...living and dying by a terrible offensive playcaller for no apparent reason.

It jcan't emphasized enough how much the "mini" bye week is going to factor into this game. To get two full weeks of rest given the nature of this season may (hopefully) service clutch for a playoff run.

Yep- the quiet part out loud is Joe could easily have 3-4 more INT's than he does now. At this point, you just gotta hope it keeps going the right way because it's hard to imagine his mentality is going to change.

Not that quiet, I think it's a popular talking point throughout the media.

But yea, Joey is going to keep slinging it. If a guy is 1-on-1, he's throwing it there. Throwing in between 3 defenders through about a human sized window - no problem.

He could get unlucky on them, and well one unlucky game is all it'll take to go home. But honestly I think it's the kind of backup QB play we need to have a chance - since at least it gives us a chance, we wouldn't go anywhere if we had DTR throwing 2 yards to the flat every play - like how we beat Pittsburgh.

So living and dying by the sword is ok IMO - fun to watch and probably what we need to have a chance against some of these teams without Watson.

Hopefully he takes January Joe 2012 form where he through like 11 touchdowns and 0 ints in the postseason though, that would be good for everyone's heart

The most underrated stat is the turnovers.  The last time the Browns won a playoff game they intercepted Roethlisberger 4 times and recovered a shotgun snap in the end zone.  5 turnovers were pretty helpful in scoring 48 points that game.

Man what a great time that game was, it couldn’t get any better - hype from the first second to the last.

  11. I think it’s classless in this case, but some teams just knee it to end a half when the clock is almost out, a fake there would be more interesting. But then the defense might start ramming full speed when you try to down it in the future.

If PJ Walker is listed on the depth chart, why wasn't he the one to start the Bengals game? Driskel just got here and you could tell he didn't have the prep. I know the game was meaningless but it still would have been nice to come out with a win to keep momentum going into the wild card.

I think they wanted to see if they could find a better backup than Walker - probably liked some of Driskel’s tape, if Flacco goes down then Walker is a death sentence to our postseason.

  13. Up 41-17 with 1:13 left the saints lined up in victory formation, and then handed it off to score another touchdown.

While funny, the falcons HC was absolutely pissed after the game.

Its a controversial play so figured its worth a thread to get people’s take on it.
