  1. Neither side wants to be the one that wrangles in the spending because they will tank their party. They will just keep on borrowing until no one is around to offer them the dough.
  2. I think too much credit is being given to Biden. Like the old joke about the vegan cat, Biden isn't the one calling the shots. That guy is a prisoner of dementia.
  3. Same here. I found out Columbus had the rule when I was trying to get some Polish food and realized everyone was staring at me. It had nothing to do with me being ugly.
  4. Likely popping champagne and getting the book and lawsuit ready haha.
  5. Sister in law was living in Columbus until a few weeks ago. I had to go and deal with that as well. I went into North Market and was met with frowny faces. I didn't know I needed one. I don't wear a mask unless a business wants me to in which case their house, their rules.
  6. What came first, the access to guns or people being this rabid about politics like it is a religion? I won’t be disarming myself because dipshits want to have the OK Corral shootout In Portland over which pro wrestler (politician) is the super de duperest bad guy. Laws can’t overcome human idiocy and political/religious fervor.
  7. I imagine dudes say all sorts of silly shit when trying to look tough. He was going down there to protect a car lot that wasn’t in the immediate riot. The riot came to them. If it hadn’t, Kyle would be telling his buddies about how he valiantly defended a Chevy Aveo from imminent danger.
  8. I’ll protect myself from people like Rittenhouse by not trying to shoot them or Tom and Jerry them with a skateboard.
  9. It is established that Rittenhouse is a moron who had delusions of being some vigilante hero in his own mind. However, he didn’t instigate what happened to him. He could be a giant bag of awful even evil ideas but he didn’t act on them and the events of that day transpired. I imagine if you asked him now if he would have wanted that day to play out the same way again, he would say no and would have stayed home. But that is just spit balling.
  10. He should have sent a strongly worded letter to the gents assaulting him.
  11. So…he should have let himself get brained with a skateboard or shot? I am asking that legitimately because neither situation is something I would allow to happen to me if I had an avenue to protect myself from it.
  12. Again being an idiot and placing yourself into danger is not illegal. Ill advised absolutely but not illegal and doesn’t qualify one to allow themself to be a victim of assault or worse.
  13. What “something” do you suggest?
  14. That is more of a reflection of Dems thinking they very well could get beat by him in ‘24.
  15. I admittedly have avoided politics like dick cancer for the last few years. Can someone catch me up on what exactly it is that is supposed to be the goal of going after Trump at this point? Are they trying to tie him to the stuff that went on January 6th?
  16. In the context of an AR, they are interchangeable because nearly all are rated for .556 chamber pressure. In other models of guns, you are absolutely correct.
  17. I don’t believe so but I would do some reading to see if it is worth it for you guys. I am younger and in good health so I may pass on the booster but I am still on the fence. I plan on a Germany and Ukraine trip in June and I am sure they will want me to have had it before allowing entry.
  18. Yeah lots of adults have received the third shot and they aren’t clogging the streets up with dead bodies.
  19. I will give you a pass on a lack of gun knowledge. .223/.556 are interchangeable. The round even in FMJ is designed to fragment on contact. I don’t know what ammo was used in some singular demonstration. However, the round is supposed to fragment and thus you should reasonably expect that. Any bullet can potentially penetrate a human body and keep chugging along. If Rittenhouse had waited to evaluate who or what might be behind a person pointing a gun at him then he would very likely be on an air brushed T-shirt.
  20. Being a naive moron isn’t illegal. He placed himself there absolutely and likely would have just told everyone he was some hero for protecting a car lot. However, the trouble came to him and he lived instead of getting himself killed by fellow morons. Some situations are a culmination of stupid events and stupid people with no bad or good guy.
  21. My friends that lean far out left on the political horse shoe are already making it seem like any defense of Rittenhouse is based in racism (the fuck?) so expect some silliness. The lack of self awareness that they say Rittenhouse put himself in a dangerous spot and must have been asking for the situation that occurred is pretty wild. Runs real close to “she chose to dress that way and walk home late” argument. Poor decision making but the victim is being blamed.
  22. These companies pressing for this will soon find that the labor pool is a step in that whole making profits process. Running off or canning a good deal of your work force is a great way to lose that extra yacht.
  23. Anecdote time (take it for what you will): Wife is a cardiac nurse and so are a good deal of her friends. They saw a boom of kids (super unusual to see kids) who were showing up with myocarditis of varying degrees of severity and it was directly after the vaccine for each kid. My wife is for the vaccine but it made her do an about face for it for kids who are far less likely to have many issues with Covid. As for why these large medical organizations would push it for kids, optimist view is they want to overcome public fear and prevent issues for the small sliver of kids who may have bad side effects to Covid. Pessimist view is Pfizer has a lot of money and every org/person can be swayed by money or political pressures from those who fund the operation and answer to politicians.
  24. The vaccine doesn’t stop the spread of the virus. It mitigates the potential for dangerous side effects from contracting Covid. Everyone in a room could be vaccinated, asymptomatic carriers who become the chemistry set that creates the next strand of Covid that chugs along infecting more people. The framing for wanting people to get it should be based around mitigating individual health side effects and not that it can stop the spread. The barn door is already open so that is over in terms of stopping that.
  25. Bonkers to even attempt to mandate it. Create a carrot on a stick to compel people to want to get it if so inclined. Don’t try to shove the stick up their ass.
