I . Aside from that, when we blitz a defensive back - he's usually not going to be the guy at the back end who is out of position. IMO, he's also one of our better open field tacklers. @tiamat63 probably has some great overhead shots of where breakdowns have occurred back when McLeod was still active during the 1st 10 games. I'm gonna predict he finds more problems you identified with Delpit than McLeod. I hate saying that because I think Delpit's improved in some areas; but I still think our opponents identify him as most vulnerable in the secondary. I'm not always right though so it's worth a look if Tia's got the time.
Working on a few things, I'll post one here and the rest in my film thread when I get the chance.
Sunday underscored why we struggle to play 2 high. A couple early busts that the Rams didn't connect on early, which you can't see from broadcast view, setup the bigger shots later. Schwartz also tried some things we really haven't done much of this year - zone blitz being the biggest.
I think because he loves sending pressure this season to mask some issues on the backend. But the way the Rams structure their motions, there were misscommunctions on the first couple Rams drives in man coverage and pass offs/replacement. One we were fortunate didn't end up with 6 to Kupp. But those things were filed away for later by the Rams coaches and they hit in a big way.
The zone looks would make sense to help fix those, but we ended up getting 6 to Nakua on a middle field read against an inverted cover 2. Just a bad day in general from the DBs and LBs. The latter have been the weakest unit on the team since the IDL was addressed.
Edit: re: Delpit and Mcloud - MC has a bit more discipline on the backend. But he lacks ideal physical abilities to be top tier at the position. He's rarely beat because of his eyes and mind. Delpit is the opposite. Great physical gifts, still gets his eyes and mind lost at times. One of the trends, when we go 2 high, is to play him almost exclusively to the boundary. Coaches are trying to give him as little field to cover as possible because of his struggles.

That's another one going on my list. Cheers!

BB is right here, York. WonderBar is a stop, but only in name sake. Nothing really special. Then again, I'm not big on "special" places. Give me a reasonable volume, lower lighting, a few nice TV's, solid food and hooch and I'm sound as a pound.
But if you can get a Po boy - do it.
And if you can get a pie from Angelo's - also do just that.
edit: York, I might end up having the week between Xmas and NYE off. I had it off last year, but we've had some rough months lately so who knows? If I do, I already have friends talking about being downtown or at least in vicinity for the game, being that it's a Thursday night. If I am off, keep an eye on your PM's. Might be around to buy you a drink and show you some Ohio hospitality.

Bell proved he could get open and has good hands, while almost the opposite could be said of Tillman. Hope he just needs time, cause he looks like a potential bust as well.
Dude didn't start getting meaningful snaps until the last 4 weeks. He's 7 for 16 targets with zero drops. 3 of those 4 games were with DTR and PJ throwing passes.
No idea how you've managed to arrive at any sort of 'bust' conclusion.

If they lose to a jags team without their QB and Christian Kirk, at home, then that would be truly sad.
The Jags are about the same level of team the Brownies are. It would be sad, but let's not pretend they're worlds below us.
That said, with Lawrence and potentially Kirk out, it would be a huge win. To the point I'd consider sitting Denzel and Myles vs Chicago and Houston for the last push against NYJ and Cincy.
There's nothing to gain from playing the Bears, IMHO.

Whats the place next to Mabel's? That was a decent dive bar, right on E. 4th.
There's a couple spots. First that I would presume you're talking about is Wonder Bar?

Good game. Flacco showed out like a true vet, just had an ill-timed int.
Defense struggled giving up big plays all game. Shocked how well the offense showed out on the road. Testament to the coaches and the vets.

Strong got some solid runs, we drove down methodically.
then we get the ball down 1 with 7 minutes and chuck it 50 yards to the middle of the field on first down. Why
You run the play until you anticipate the adjust. you don't run, run, pass.

We keep playing closed ends to their strength. LB's and DB's have to be ready to get outside on those tosses.
-
In case we still have a couple retards left over who don't think that our coaches get the most out of the QB's on the roster.
Oh wait.... they aren't posting because the Browns are driving and looking good.

Sweet Jesus. 2 fuckin EZ, Joe.

Joe just flipped that play to the strength after the kill. Good lord. Nice vet.

So far, another great game of calls by Stef. The throws on early downs and getting Flacco on the move early has helped to protect his old ass.

What do we gotta better here on this series Tia?
On offense? cut out penalties and maintain balance.
On defense? Find two new safeties.
edit: Eventually they'll go at Delpit playing the high 2 hash.
-
Wright being left unblocked is a tale as old as time.
-
Great call on the screen. Taking advantage of Donald getting aggressive and upfield.

They're going to force more zones with these motion tosses. Our safeties can't handle that.
-
Hard counts continue to mind fuck this Dline.
-
And, if you wonder why we play so much single high and cover 3, it's because our safeties struggle to get off the hashes.
-
Taki, you have to run the seam.
-
You think Flacco had to tape it down after that first drive?
-
Second on The Flat Iron. You can find a couple decent, but still slightly dive places that are the heart of Cleveland. Decent drink, decent bar food at an ok price.

ARRGGGHHHH!!!!! Do I dare ask what's the prognosis with Denzel Ward's shoulder? If it wasn't for bad news lately - we wouldn't have any news...
Not sure buddy. But if I had to take a guess, given how this season has unfolded - I'd say the prognosis is likely shitty.

Mary Kay, in her infinite wisdom, now reporting Myles might have structural damage in his shoulder.

The Butt Cheek Catch
in THE BROWNS BOARD
Posted
I think the distinction here is what we both qualify as "open". Tillman is going to play that classic 'X' role. So his level of open is going to be a bit less of separation than say, Moore or Coop. He's the receiver who is going to win the contested catches and work in very limited spacing. This is where his elite de-acceleration comes into play.
Problem is, what he needs more than anything for that style to succeed is continuity and ability at the QB position. We've simply lacked the former and quite a bit of the latter this season. Marques Colston ... Go check him out with Drew Brees. His contested catch rate was unreal.
