  1. Yes, no team has ever moved on from a productive veteran in favor of the draw of greener pastures of a "promising" rookie. Mahomes first start didn't inspire a ton of confidence.
  2. This is like asking do you want to be shot in the head or in the chest? In the end, who Shmucking cares? I don't believe either will be successful.
  3. Buell is what is right with HD. XB9SX with the full smoke finish, fork sliders, select seat, frame pucks and third eye bars... Sexy.
  4. I really can't get on board with that full line of reasoning. I don't like speaking for anyone else but I believe there is an idea, a concept if you will, in Tour's mind that Wentz is the product of a brilliantly crafted offensive system in Philly. The main evidence for such a suggestion is Foles' success after stepping in for Carson and the Eagles not missing a beat. To an extent I'm inclined to agree with him there. However I believe Carson would be successful in most places you would put him. To the extent he has shown in Philly in such a short time? It's possible not. Doug Pederson is an incredible offensive mind. But I still believe Wentz was worthy of the #2 overall and that his strengths have been magnified under the Eagles offense.
  5. Well I guess we'll just wait around here and see about that. (Premature) signs already write on the wall that this might not go the way you think.
  6. The first QB Tour and I agreed on as our 1A since I've been on this board. Previously we've split on Goff/Wentz, Grayson/Petty and I wasn't (still not) sold on Watson. So to see Rosen slip to 10 and potentially watch him bloom would hurt my heart.
  7. Meanwhile our rookie QB.... I don't put too much stock in what is heard from OTA's. I'll listen in more for training camp but even then unless I see it with my own eyes. I've learned to wait until the onfield product is in front of me. Nathan Zugura is pure propaganda. (Just an example) That said, I have a feeling this thread, the Baker thread and finally the Allen thread will be fun reads in the next year or so.
  8. Dude ain't gonna last long running the option at 185lbs.
  9. Define top 3? In Passer Rating? In QBR? etc etc Half of the games? Easy enough to understand 60% of his passes is another tricky one. If he starts only 2 games with a very friendly and conservative game plan, that isn't a stretch to reach 60% in the modern NFL. Ravens to the Playoffs.... another easy one to understand. I would have to include something like... Has* to start at least 6 games for the stats portion to be something I'd accept. Anything less than that is too small of a sample size.
  10. Unfortunately Lamar won't be starting year one so we can't bet over RoTY. So we could bet on Lamar going to the pro bowl his first full year starting.
  11. Your obsession with this is comical. Kick back and enjoy your "told you so" in a couple years. ( if it ever comes)
  12. Give me until this weekend to think of terms that would be Cam Newton-esque.
  13. Only, Lamar doesn't run a 4.3. He doesn't have the first step or lateral movement of Vick. Nobody has since and chances are you won't see that in our lifetime. Also, Vicks success against NFL defenses from 2001 vs 2010 was rather up and down. The athletic premium put on the other side of the ball to stop or limit these runners has really been quite impressive over the last 10 years. Do we think of Vick as 'Vick' if he started playing 10 years later vs 2000? Me thinks not so much.
  14. Great kid, don't get me wrong. He seems very humble and hard working. But if you can detail to me in a paragraph or less what makes him so much more capable of being an NFL QB than say.... Pryor was when leaving tOSU - I might be willing to listen. Keep in mine, Terrelle worked in a pro-style offense, under center, with 3, 5 and 7 step drops. Actually, I'll challenge anyone here that likes Jackson to answer that question. What traits and flashes have you seen of Lamar that would begin to make you believe he is somehow going to be an elite or even above average QB one day? Of course I ask this to be contrasted with Terrelle Pryor circa 2011. (Won't happen) Aaaaaaand GO!
  15. Good for us. They don't take an impact player and settle for taking somebody at the most important position in sports who will, at best, see the field in 2-3 years and will be mighty shaky as a passer even then. This is a pick we should celebrate the ratbirds for taking.
  16. So I see this thread is still ongoing... which means you haven't sought mental help.
  17. Leak. It was Leak at QB. Well, for the first half at least. Couldn't tell you what happened during the 2nd and too date I refuse to watch any video or clips of that game.
  18. Just saw the box score, haven't had a chance to watch anything else. Looks like a kick straight to the finger but I tend to not elevate or destroy a player based on one game. That said... it was not a good game.
  19. Oh I'm going to shadow this fore all over the place post bowl season.
  20. Footwork and decisive throws are most important in the shotgun. Sure I'd like to see some under center work but I'm not panicked about it. Especially when you have to take your eyes off the defense to catch the snap. Thus less time seeing what they're doing. So if you can work from the gun and still deliver the goods, I'm going to take notice of that.
  21. Already started a write up on my Benkert vs Rosen. Won't finish it until after the bowl season. it'll be my most extensive. I've started watching all throws from week 1 forward for the both of them. Picked that task up last week. There's a reason I'm digging this thread up and re-affirming my position in said 'camp'.
  22. Just here to shed some light. For me, Kurt is not only a rising name, but I feel has the chance of being the best QB in this draft.
  23. STFU and let the man work. I for one see what he's doing.
