Browns sign safety Rodney McLeod to another one year deal.

I was looking for that deal this morning. McLeod wasn't bad back there

    Well positioned to draft.

Added a FA, at WR,RB,QB,TE & Tackle.. Added no C's or G's, but we'll need to get younger at Guard. RB Nyheim Hines does both punt & KR.

Defense added 2 FA LB'ers, DT, S & ST/CB it's open to a draftee taking a 2 season players spot at several backup depth positions

not a bad FA haul by Berry, considering we started almost 18M over the new higher cap number

But you got me on Stover, they have him as a third rounder. 🤣 But the "possibly the most well-rounded TE in this class" part made me think, you know, maybe he wouldn't be such a reach here in the second.

I've seen Buckeyes TE Cade Stover and Virginia WR Malik Washington being gone during the 4th round in mock drafts.

no Browns 4th round pick as of present

Our 2nd & 3rd round picks Berry can't miss on

I had a REALLY SICK feeling the Bears would get this irresponsible.  I hope they go 0-17.   They already gave the Ravens Roquan Smith midway through 2022.

yep sucks! not seeing the draft value these GM's are seeing either.

We saw Fields 9 sacks coming in as a rookie QB to Cleveland

    2 years later

We saw Fields almost steal a game in Cleveland, we had to have last season.

Meanwhile, a jackass donkey in Denver, pays Russ Wilson to play in the AFCN

It's going to be a wild AFCN division again !

  4. 1 hour ago, Dutch Oven said:

WR Adonai Mitchell, Texas. 6'3, 196. Lightening quick off snap, giving the Browns WR unit more needed speed.

C/OG Jackson Powers-Johnson, Oregon. 6'3, 320. Bulldozer in run game. Can play center or guard, giving Browns flexibility in two positions they will need an eventual starter.

Hold up now ! Where does your drafting mag have these 2 rated?  near rating #54 still?

TE Cade Stover, Ohio State. 6'4, 251. Possibly the most well-rounded TE in this class.

Ok Bru'tus the Buckeye homer ! ;)     Been sitting in my OSU man-cave where the grey carpet has the Buckeye red/white stripe running down the middle of it.. Berry is going to piss both of off because?

TE Cade Stover will be age 24.5 when drafted, meaning Berry won't draft him :P  (but we share the same thinking on Stover)

damn, i got to cut the grass already !  🙄  Round 1 !

But with Sweat, do the Browns really need another massive IDL, since they took Ika last draft?

Jim Schwartz knows more about Ika's game translating into the nfl, than we've seen of Ika. Ika's his only competition in the 330 lb. DT weight class on the roster. They chose to bring in 3 tech's Jefferson, w/returning Harris & Hurst.

    Tomlinson/ Sweat/ Jefferson/ Hurst .. 👀    camp battle Harris vs Ika for 5th DT ?

    10 minutes ago, Flugel said:

Nice job Gumbs!  I'd LOVE Sweat at 54 but I feel like that would count on a lot of teams in front of us to be sound asleep at the wheel. Like your thinking on Nubin - I was doing mine while you did yours.

They still haven't addressed the need at Safety after Thornhill & Delpit. 3 likes they haven't brought back

    MCLEOD JR., RODNEY UFA

     he wasn't bad before injury

    HARMON, DURON UFA

    Adams, Matthew UFA

Your assignment is to come up with your five favorite (and realistic) choices for the Browns second round pick..

    5 ain't easy :)

    2nd round
    DL | Texas

May take a small trade up..^^

LB | Texas A&M  might be gone too <<< enter
    LB | Michigan

    3rd round

  7. Bummer!

Wilson Pickett won't be the greatest hit since Mustang Sally :)  (now just smoke from a distance 🔥)

Pickett (Sally), like Trubisky, prefer holding backup QB clipboards, instead of competing to start.. pussies

edit-- Browns FA's-- Jerry Jeudy's re-done contract, pays out prior FA moves w/5-6M left in cap room

  8. Not intended to high jack team cap space topic. But stumbled across a interesting list of 2023 NFL Coaches contracts/ranking $$..

Where does 2 time coach of the year land on list?

    Top 10 highest-paid NFL coaches 2023

    COACH TEAM ANNUAL SALARY
    1. Bill Belichick New England Patriots $20 million     Not coaching in 2024
    2. Sean Payton Denver Broncos $18 million
    3. Pete Carroll Seattle Seahawks $15 million     Not coaching in 2024
    4. Sean McVay Los Angeles Rams $15 million
    5. Mike Tomlin Pittsburgh Steelers $12.5 million
    6. Andy Reid Kansas City Chiefs $12 million
    7. John Hargbaugh Baltimore Ravens $12 million
    8. Kyle Shanahan San Francisco 49ers $10 million
    9. Josh McDaniels Las Vegas Raiders $10 million     Not coaching in 2024
    10. Mike Vrabel Tennessee Titans $9.5 million    Not coaching in 2024

Who are the lowest paid NFL coaches 2023?

    COACH TEAM SALARY
Matt LaFleur Green Bay Packers $5 million
Robert Saleh New York Jets $5 million
Zac Taylor Cincinnati Bengals $4.5 million
Mike McCarthy Dallas Cowboys $4 million
Kevin Stefanski Cleveland Browns $3.5 million   last on HC list

The Cleveland Browns brought in HC Kevin Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry to work together as a collaborative unit in 2020. It is important to note that Stefanski was hired first then joined the search that ended up with Berry as the general manager.

Despite that, Berry does not report to Stefanski. Despite their titles, Stefanski does not report to Berry.

Both head coach and GM report directly to the ownership group led by Jimmy Haslam.

Kevin Stefanski's 4 season record is 37-30 .552% with a 1-2 playoff record.  5 year contract expires January of 2025

  9. as fans, we may get half truths

The "Flacco wants to return to Cleveland"

2 weeks ago, Flacco himself made radio stops w/Sirius & espn. Heard both.

Flacco & Stef were both raised in Philly. Joe commented on a great player/coach relationship he had w/Stef. Loved the guts, Stef showed as the play caller. Joe didn't want that last game to be his last here. Joe admittedly felt he let the room/fans down. Joe took that loss hard on himself. Yes, Joe wants a chance to play, but he really wants to win more than the money. He's secured his money..

Few days after Joe Flacco spoke & days after combine ?

  10. The rant in my delivery truck, was as epic as most post above. :)

last night, The Cap Poor Fin's remove DT C.Wilkins/ replaced w MLB /Anthony Walker w/ now a target on his chest for a number 🎯 with no DT protection

    around 2 PM today

    a) Derrick Henry to Balt'whore

b.) Patrick Queen is than a Squeeler

c.) "Browns to sign backup QB Jameis Winston"  🙃

IYIlvuWc21U4g.gif   Flacco better be getting paid $

huh? 4M 2023 Saints backup QB...Browns rumored to pay 8.7M (believe it, when see it)

edit--- Jameis Winston deal with the Browns: $4 million guaranteed. $2.79 million signing bonus, $1.21 million base, up to $4.7 million available in incentives

@gumby73 it's your thread, so I have to ask, is there(this) where you'd like pre-draft assessments given?

Tia, that would be outstanding ! Most football junkie's here, enjoy your qualified/background of the game and position group assessments .

I really don't have time to create or manage my own thread.

At your leisure, working 11 hours days myself. My limited 2 hours of time on here looks for ball talk. pass on BS

So I'll pop in specifically for only the position groups and players I'm looking at (LB, IDL, IOL)

Easy topic edit change. ^ ^

Mock Drafts & Draft Prospects... is now open to any BB member. 1k views.. bring'em

  12. 13 hours ago, Dutch Oven said:

As I was figuring out my mock draft, I originally had Braden Fiske, DT from Florida State on it.

Just saw a video from the Combine of the 300lber running his 40 in 4.78 seconds.

That's the problem facing these GM's in this draft. The Athletic freak list is off the charts w/this draft class.. BUT What ________  does lining up vs. NFL prepared players is a much harder evaluation.

Braden Fiske's high motor skills gives me scary flashbacks of Taven Bryan getting drafted to high by the Jags. Built a good 3 year stat line playing in the MAC at W.Mich. Stats were cut in half after transferring to ACC at FSU in final college season. Fiske still finished w/6 sacks in the ACC, and I like his counter moves better than T. Bryan

ACC viewings...The U.. DT Leonard Taylor lll 👀 He can be plain nasty in 2 plays & just plain lazy the next 2.. Many boards have LT in our drafting range in 2nd or 3rd round. Sporting News has LT ranked in Top 40.

Check out Taylor's injury history...   THE BAD-- 2023 surgery to repair glenoid labrum (ya don't say?)

    https://steelersdepot.com/2024/02/2024-nfl-draft-scouting-report-miami-fl-dl-leonard-taylor-iii/

Does Berry chase a rookie DT in 2nd or 3rd?  stay tuned

  13. Who's paying RB3's FA pricing? I'd consider pricing FA Colts RB Zack Moss, before handing the keys to Ford again in early schedule. While avoiding paying top 5 FA RB pricing altogether..

This Draft class has some thickness/speed to RB class,

Really have no choice of being a RB fan of a local Southern Durham,NC high school kid Tennessee's RB Jaylen Wright. 👀

Jaylen Wright was a 3 star promising RB, that missed out playing his senior high school year due to covid cancelling his senior season :P

If this RB stud is not taken by round 2? Jaylen Wright may become the biggest sleeper of this draft class..

great family attitude stud, that may run to Derrick Henry high at times, but willing to run downhill w/ good thumper speed

Good Luck, Durham,NC RB Jaylen Wright !

  14. After the Jeudy trade, the Browns have five selections left in the 2024 NFL draft:

    • Second Round - #54
    • Third Round - #85
    • Fifth Round - #155
    • Sixth Round - #205
    • Seventh Round - #243

If the Browns getting faster WR's is your thing? 16 draft eligible WR's ran faster 40's than Jerry Jeudy 💥 WR class is loaded w/straight line speed

Berry is no longer trapped into taking a WR w/higher pick, in what most think is a top 100 draft class. Can still move up or down 🎯 board

Do fantasy Mock sims really have to wait until trades are official ?  Re-sign Flacco & some DT's and we're open for business at any position

    Go Browns !

An interesting note from Ian Rapoport that Jeudy’s agent worked to get his client traded to a desired landing spot in Cleveland.

#1. Re-sign backup QB Joe Flacco?  (Trust Watson's injury bounce back in 2024?)

    Got Others ?

Phew!!! That's real good news about Teller.

Saw Teller got married this off-season.  Rumor from The Athletic going around in early February..

don't expect anyone to trade for W. Teller's non-guaranteed salary of $14m. Browns will need to make an early trade decision as Teller is due a addition $2m on the 20th of March.

don't see this team creating more roster holes now.. Pay the 2M

  19. 32 NFL GM's got some real work to do, with the leagues new highest Cap number to work from.

Player/Agents get busy on hammering out "I'm worth this in 2024" via 32 GM's or seek work/worth elsewhere.

In 6 days, March 11th 2024 new Player/team deals can be announced.

Cleveland Browns FA's in the mix?

Here is the complete list of players headed to free agency dividing the list into offensive and defensive players:

Offense: Flacco, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, running back Kareem Hunt, left tackle Geron Christian, guard Michael Dunn, tight end Harrison Bryant, center/fullback Nick Harris and wide receiver James Proche.

Defense: Defensive end Za’Darius Smith, defensive tackle Shelby Harris, defensive tackle Maurice Hurst, linebacker Sione Takitaki, linebacker Anthony Walker, safety Rodney McLeod, cornerback Mike Ford, linebacker Justin Kunaszyk, defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, cornerback Duron Harmon, linebacker Matthew Adams and linebacker Jacob Phillips

No perfect science to this, but our Cleveland Browns are coming off a 11 win season, not ready to start a roster re-tool counting on drafted rookies.

Let's Go to work on another playoff season Andrew Berry !

Here's a well thought out long link of idea's to get us started in the 2024 FA Market that may fit  our Cleveland Browns. No! it's not going to be perfect, but full of work put into...
