A home grown WR, w/5th browns team meeting, might fall under using a 7th round pick.
Tipton was invited to participate at Toledo University's Pro Day, where he raised the eyebrows of dozens of scouts. Tipton was able to participate in front of nearly 60 NFL scouts thanks to Toledo cornerback and projected first-round pick Quinyon Mitchell, who drew an enormous crowd to get one final look at him before the draft.
Yale wide receiver Mason Tipton had some interest from a handful of NFL teams throughout the pre-draft process. However, following his 4.32 40-yard dash time at his Pro Day, Tipton seemingly forced about 20 more teams to take a look. Tipton is no stranger to the spotlight. He grew up in Akron, Ohio, where he attended Archbishop Hoban High School.

These days... YT is all we get for free.. Junkies miss the draft site that had draftees full snaps of games. Sites name escapes me from a few years back ?
I've seen PW play live in 3 games.. UNC/ Clemson/ ND.. The comparisons to LB Blake Martinez coming out of Stanford, may not be to far off ? But, the pro's got to get Wilson to add some good upper bulk. 138 tackles/ at times adding his knee brace to finish games? Loves the game & guts !

returning to slick Flug's 54th pick choices 😆
1.) Being AB's choice..
It'd take a 22 y.o 4.3 speed WR to fall on pick #54? Still feels like Berry trades back. Berry's guardrails would put the younger LB Junior Colson ahead of my choice of local LB Payton Wilson. My believe is Colson won't get to #54 but, Payton Wilson may with injury testing/draft age..
Give me.. LB Payton Wilson at pick #54.. @Flugel Morning Pancake special (cameraman sucks) .. My spelling test, calls him A-meg ! Stinging Bee-hive T, is raw enough to be the Browns/my 85th pick..

The variance of ratings and projections make this a little challenging but it's fun getting more familiar with what they've done and what they can offer teams in the draft.
can't remember a year where Walter's, ESPN, Pff & the mock draft database, have draftees round/prospect projections differing this much, a month from the draft. Good point sir.. Some of Kiper's bpa on board, could get passed on by a full round

I'll need a day or 2 to update both rounds found here on page 3.. My sister from Toledo called, to make 3 X 45 minute drives to Detroit to get to each day of the draft. Flights to Detroit, the day prior to draft are cheap at 100 bucks from NC.. I'm having ticket price drama getting back to NC for this thing called a job .. Sister Barb, needs a answer today...
Shall we pack a gun to a Detroit NFL Draft ? Free lodging, just need the car rides to/from draft

This Wild-cat (Zombo's edit to wilddawg still lives ) stuck out to me during the Combine. Looked built like a old school ILB.. falls thru cracks in many iLB rankings..
The only site that has Wallace ranked inside it's top 100 is ESPN #87..
NC State Payton Wilson may not fit AB's age (24) draft profile? But, Wilson looks to be the best sure tackler that can cover from this weak class

All the players that are pending free agents, after the 2024 season have been removed from this chart. This gives us a indication of position rooms where they have the most need to draft someone and prepare for the future.
The best teams in the NFL will draft a year in advance so they aren't relying on a rookie to be a role player, give them a year in the system to develop.
1.) Add Jerry Jeudy to WR's
2.) All other players have expiring contracts or on 1 year expiring contracts after 2024. Except listed
3.) Key contracts would fall on Chubb/ Cooper/ Newsome/ Wills & JOK
Browns could Draft BPA in many positions

Speaking of Nick Chubb, does anyone know how he's coming along with his recovery? There hasn't been very much said about him.
won't be much...NFLPA hammers HIPAA privacy rules on players.. Nick Chubb himself/agent, shouldn't release his medical info
Sadly, Most roster projections have Nick listed as going on reserve/PUP list to start the 2024 season. If so, Player must miss first 4 games of season at minimum.
Nick's injury report has been confirmed by everyone but Nick Chubb's medical staff. have read Multiple Reads like...
Chubb underwent surgery on Sept. 29 to repair his medial collaterial ligament, meniscus and medial capsule, the team confirmed Sept. 30 in a statement. Chubb also had a second surgery on Nov. 14th to repair his anterior cruciate ligament, the Browns said.
(MCL & ACL) and some still think full dislocation of left knee? (NFL/media former team Dr. Chao of Chargers)
No timeline, but Browns "on track" has been determined for his return. The Browns said early estimated recovery times suggest Chubb will be able to play "at some point" next season. (wonder where our bye week falls?)
🦇 💪 Good luck, 2-4 !

Now THIS is an underrated signing I also like, tossed in with bringing in a better body suited to playing more upback. Liked Foreman at Texas, dude doesn't have much mileage, he's a bigger RB and he had almost 1k behind a very questionable Carolina Oline a couple years ago. I could see him as the #2 before training camp is over.
Kinda stung posting the Foreman to sign. Toledo grad, w/Hunt signed Toledo jersey. Proud of what Hunt proved w/his time here as a Brown. Played for 4M last season. Interest to what Foreman signs for here.
The wife is the household Panthers fan. Hated the McCaffery trade. But Yes, D.Foreman almost got 1k after that trade as a Panther. That Carolina OL, couldn't pass block my wife , but better in run blocking inside tackles.
Small world of NFL drafting..
In the 2017 NFL draft. K.Hunt went 3.86. The next RB off the board, came 3 picks later. Texas RB D'Onte Foreman 3.89. Hunt's truck load played just under 220lbs. (say's 216) .. Foreman does seem to be the more durable healthy RB playing at 235lbs.
Getting a durable D. Foreman this late in the FA pool? Feels like a solid pickup for Andrew Berry/Browns

this isn't that complicated.
The Browns front office isn't bringing in a backup that is going to automatically be more popular than Watson. No one really cares about Winston, or will be dying to see him play.
But Flacco? We saw how popular that run was with Browns fans and him.
Winston was brought in because Watson likes him AND he's not much of a threat of the fan base clamoring for him.
Good post Dutch^^and this is just a piece of the 2024 season drama we'll be facing/posting
The main media, 2 fold opinion flying monkeys began flying soon as Flacco wasn't re-signed.
Example a) Charlie Weis, NFL Radio
"If I was a Browns fan. It's not my money spent on a ridiculous paid QB contract. Why should their fans care about Watson's hurt performance feelings? To date, Watson's biggest win was one road win in Baltimore under his belt. 3 years into a 5 year promised contract. Fans/the 53/staff should only care about win's & if Wacko 4 Flacco or _________ hurts Watson's butt hurt performance feelings? Than, So be it.. We all have to Compete for our jobs. and I Charlie Weis still get boo'ed doing this radio show" 🙋♂️(guilty)
Charlie Weis won't be the only media a_ _hole to take this side of the (de)fence ..
Kindly, Don't shoot back at this messenger .. It's not my money to choose players/pay. I'm just a lifetime fan of the Cleveland Browns posting opinions that's out there.
Happy Monday !

Just out of curiosity, what do they know about Winston that the rest of the planet doesn't already know about him?
and we don't know what this FO should know..
a) Winston might have arranged arriving this weekend to sign his deal on Monday? He' got a agent for info
b.) Ya won't get a disagreement from this poster, or several teams for that matter. Many GM's missed the trade value steal for Justin Fields to come in as a backup QB .. Makes matters worse.. It was Fucking Pittsburgh 🤷♂️

Joyous topic.. so back to the title
Jameis has not signed a Browns contract as of Sunday..
With Watson’s shoulder rehab only starting any kind of throwing soon and offseason activities starting in Berea in April, adding another quarterback makes sense. With Winston not signing yet, Cleveland only has Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Huntley at the quarterback position.
Tyler Huntley is only signing a veteran’s minimum contract meaning he is competing for a roster spot at best and is a training camp arm at worst:
So how long should AB have Cabot wait for busy Jameis Winston?

When ya hear former gm's, praising the depth of this years class of Offensive Lineman? Our pal Tour, would've needed it's own Topic of 2024 OL prospects. 🙏
Prospect X is a term used in finding prospects that fall under the terms of "deepest draft sleeper" (think Drew Forbes, or maybe we shouldn't 😇)
Pro Bowl LG Joel Bitonio was found playing his College football in Nevada.
This years Prospect X, maybe playing his College football as a South Dakota State Jackrabbit 🐰
.Projected 5th/6th round. Prospect rating as high as #125, but now at #134. X's PFF score is 87.6 with a RAS score of 9.97
Shrine Bowler maybe built out of the same play-doe mold of Joel Bitonio playing at Nevada ( Oh calm down ! ) Sit a year behind a pro bowler.
Here's to finding more game tape of Jack 🐰 LG #60 Mason McCormick
It's not the Steelers, but 13-2 Montana played in it's Championship Game
It's a option after pick #85
