  1. Dream scenario: We win. (please, that's all we really want) And the Bills & Chiefs both lose. Then we host Miami next week. - It's the Night Before....so we can dream.
  2. When he plays in preseason he usually does ok. Felton took his carries this preseason though. But he's been around the team for quite some time over the last few years. Everybody knows him. If he gets in the game, he's gotta hold onto the ball and pickup the blitzer.

It's someone's chance to step in and show that he should keep the job throughout the playoffs.
  4. So John Kelly was elevated from the practice squad. Pierre Strong definitely got dinged on his last play last week.
  5. Most impressive about Watson’s game against the Bengals, however, was his desire to play from whistle to whistle and look for work. Keeping his head on a swivel, Watson, if not engaged right off the snap in his zone, will find the closest man to him and look to put him on the turf. He did this three times on Sunday. ---- Whereas Wills, his contract says that he only needs to work for 3.5 seconds per play. Reality, the article says that Watson is athletic but not very good either. We really have to take the expectation of pass away from the defense with the running game, but we can't run. We're too deep into the bench at tackle. - Our defense is going to have to play its absolute best.
  6. Flacco, longer developing deep shots and play-action takes, the cracks emerged in Christian’s game. Of all qualifying offensive tackles, there are only five worse pass blockers in the NFL (according to PFF).
  7. ...and does he come as a package deal with the two other Belichick Patriots coaches also? (Steve & Brian)
  8. Does anyone think that Bill Belichik is now a different coach than he ever was? For spite he held a player out of the super bowl and subsequently lost the game. He cut Bernie Kosar to put in Todd Philcox. He's a pig-headed a-hole. But he's got a good mind for the defensive side of the ball. The trouble is, he's too huge in stature to be anything but a HC.
  9. Well then, we damn well better win the SB THIS year.
  10. Applying a good pass rush makes the DB's all that much better. Like I said, it's going to take our defense and Flacco to have good days.
  11. Personally, I think the Jaguars coach has earned it too.
  12. Head coaches fired today = Commanders and Falcons.
  13. Our final game of the season being played with a bunch of backups, did not do our stats any favors...but here's the full season in a nutshell. The matchup: Rushing. Even - The Texans don't run the ball very well. But we do not run the ball as well as our numbers show. We've truly struggled to run it in the latter part of the season. Passing. Texans - They're a good passing team. We, with the addition of Flacco, are not quite as bad as our numbers show. But still, the Texans have the advantage. Run Defense. Texans - Stats show that the Texans are difficult to run against. We aren't bad against the run but have gone downhill in the latter part of the season. Pass Defense. Browns - We are good against the pass when we have Ward & Co. on the field. The Texans are not great at pass defense, but how much of that is because teams cannot run against them? Still, our advantage there. Sacks are pretty close on all 4 sides of the ball. TAKEAWAYS - My God we've been on the negative end of this stat all year long. And the Texans are double digits to the positive. Argh... Bottom Line (in theory) - A couple of teams that negate each other's strengths but can't take advantage of each other's weaknesses. I'm left with a deciding factor being turnovers. It's going to take another great job by the Defense, and by Flacco, for us to win this game. Go Browns!
  14. Did he? Because he fielded a punt (pass) in the end zone? He was double covered both times. Pretty much had to wait for each pass. And none of those defenders got even near the ball. The Bengals DB coach must have been rolling his eyes. But...yes, he caught a couple of passes that wound up being TD's.
  15. Miss him on the board. Happy Heavenly Birthday Gipper! I hope Flacco wins one for you...and us.
  16. Third and goal from the 1 and the Jags didn't try to run it in on 3rd down. Poor coaching. And Lawrence was not accurate today. My 8 year old grandson is a Jaguars fan. I wanted us playing each other next week! Man, our game was a complete waste of time. On defense we had several players who couldn't shed blocks and couldn't tackle. On a TD run, Mixon made Jordan Kunaszyk #51 look like a backup to a backup. And on offense, we signed some QB during the week and trotted him out there like a crash test dummy. And who'd have thunk that the maligned David Bell would catch 2 TD's? The first one was like he was fielding a punt in the end zone.
  17. ...and you know they'll be looking at that wr room for possible upgrade. He'll once again have competition in camp next year.
  18. Absolutely. Mine was when Josh Gordon lit the Patriots up for over 200 yards.....only to have our special teams coach blow the game with a ridicules onside kick recovery alignment.
  19. At least they've drafted receivers. They understand the problem.
