Korsou Dawg said: The start of next season has every potential to be epic indeed, irrespective whether it is Watson (likely) or Joe (wouldn't mind at all, maybe even prefer) under center! ....... the problem is, by this time of the season, we're ALWAYS going to have tons of injuries. Every team is. Little bitty shoulder pads. Pants rolled up over their knees (no pads)...etc. It's going to come down to, How good and deep is your depth?! And pray to God that it's not your QB that's injured. (we lucked out with Flacco being good)
  2. ...well this one was saying that Tillman has got to flatten that route out. Now, I couldn't see the game because it was on amazon...but I'm pretty sure that it was a pass into the end zone.
  3. ...but it's not just me sayin' that. The sidelines announcer said it during the game (Deron Cherry?). And I read it in someone's article a couple of weeks ago.
  4. To qualify for the playoffs, having 4 different QB's win games, I'd assume coach of the year should be in order.
  5. With EJ Moore taking a seizure on the field after his head got smashed into the turf...and Tillman not being a good route runner and thus only getting 1 or 2 catches a game...we're weak at WR.

If the Bengals game is inconsequential, then we take Dutch's advice...bubble wrap the players and forfeit the game (figuratively). PJ Walker gets to play. John Kelly, Austin Watkins Jr., .... all of those type guys can play that game.
  7. The Cleveland Browns have signed QB Jeff Driskel to the active roster off the Cardinals' practice squad. To make room on the roster, the team has waived DE Sam Kamara. Driskel (6-4, 235) is in his eighth NFL season out of Louisiana Tech. Originally a sixth-round draft pick by the 49ers in 2016, Driskel has appeared in 23 career games with 11 starts with the Bengals (2018), Lions (2019), Broncos (2020) and Texans (2021-22). He has completed 216 of 365 career passes for 2,228 yards with 14 touchdowns. He has added 384 rushing yards with three scores. He made two starts for the Texans in 2022 and has spent the majority of this season the Cardinals' practice squad. ....Now that we've qualified for the playoffs they want to make sure they have somebody better than PJ Walker at their disposal. They're getting serious now.

....I currently don't want to change a thing. Just get some of the guys back for the playoff game. I like a QB like Flacco. A tall drink of water with a big arm. A great Play Action Play Faker. He drops back into the pocket and wants nothing more than to stay there and deliver the ball to a receiver. This is just what a pass protecting offensive lineman would like. They know where Flacco will be. And Flacco is mobile enough to get out of a collapsing pocket...and while running with the ball, is looking to throw it and NOT have to run. On top of all of that, he takes the top off of the defense. He'll throw the thing long. If he looks around and nobody's open, he's not beyond throwing it out past the longest route and see if the receiver makes a great play or a flag gets thrown. He's 38 years football smart old, too.
  9. They were fans making as much noise as the 12th man possibly could. I hope the Jets found it annoying. Like, False Start annoying or something. I bet a stadium worker was dispatched to that spot today. ....edit...I would like to add...they were banging that metal panel at times when it was not beneficial as a 'home field advantage' or anything. So, they do also qualify as nickers' drunken ass-hats.
  10. That was our offense the entire 2nd half. Hats off to the Defense for allowing only 3 points the entire half!
  11. Just to be a wet rag.....we shoulda' kicked the FG early on when we had that 4th & 7 from the 7. I know the kicker missed an extra point....but that actually was cutting off your nose to spite your face. That would've gotten that extra point back and a couple of extras.
  12. With all that Flacco had done in this game...like he's done in the other games....a game ball still has to go to the Defense. I'm not interested that they gave up a lot of yards. The defense had another big hand in the win!
  13. On his longest TD play last week, it looked like he favored it after he crossed into the endzone.

    DTR

How did he get injured? I couldn't see most of the 4th quarter as they switched to a different game...because they figured I wasn't enjoying seeing my Browns beat up on a team I guess.
  15. C'mon Browns....earn that clinched asterisk beside your name in the Friday sports section! I can see it now. We'd be right on the cover. Smilin' man. Awwww, beautiful!
  16. The Jets are no pushovers. Their defense is tough to move the ball long distances against. And there's no defensive players on their injury report.

...but then we wouldn't have Flacco.
  19. According to the NY Times site, if the Patriots beat the Bills we're in. We need to make that moot anyway.
  20. I think it was Spencer Lanning.
