  1. The Ghoul hated him from the start. It took 'til game seven before I knew we had the wrong coach. The Bengals had been marching down the field on us all first half.scoring TD's..........near the end of the half we move the ball to their 38 with like, 4th and 2 or 3. I'm like, GO FOR IT. (they led, 14-10)............Well, Mr. Some Of My Best Coaching, can't make up his mind and gets a delay of game penalty making it 4th & 8 from the 43 with 1:10 left in the half. He punts. - ok, he's a wuss, but...ok. Now, I'm a little concerned about keeping Cincy from FG range....'cuz we really can't stop them. -- They run it up the gut for 5 yards, and get up slowly, and are moseying back to the huddle, and I'm like, Thank You! Let's go to the half. BUT NOOOOooo! Mr. Some Of My Best Coaching calls TO. I'm like, WHAT? WE CALLED TO? You see, we only had 2 left after losing a coaches challenge......so we couldn't possibly get them to have to punt. Sooooo, the Bengals run it up the gut again for 6 yards, 1st down....and so they decide, Let's call TO. - They went on to score a TD. I said, We have the wrong fucking coach!
  2. Good comparison. Lindy Infante came in as OC to spark the aerial attack as Kitchens is hoped to do/continue with Mayfield. One could say there's precedence for a second year Browns QB, with talent around him, to go out and win a dozen football games. - Not sayin' that'll happen. But it has happened before......
  3. ...my take on that: Dorsey gave him a pay raise and told him that he was good, wanted, would be a contributor in a big way, yadda-yadda. Then he drafts Chubb...but not to replace Duke but to replace Hyde. So Duke's status really was unaffected by Chubb's addition......but all of a sudden, Hunt becomes available, whom Dorsey drafted, and knows how good he is. It was like getting this really good RB just dropped in your lap. There was no way Dorsey could foresee this when he was extending Duke's contract. A player's situation can change based on nothing more than crazy things happening.
  4. The man wants out. You pretty much HAVE to trade him for what you can get or you're going to have a mal-content on your team.
  5. August 8th - 1st pre season game 4 days
  6. Saints fans use to wear bags on their heads at games. Back in the day, my friends and I would decide to go to a game, drive up to Sullivan Stadium in Foxborough on a sunday, buy tickets and sit just about anywhere we wanted. Let the Patriots suck like we did for just 10 years....and there'll be more people in the Bass ProShop than in the stadium. Especially towards the end of the season for those cold, rainy/snowy days when you KNOW your team is gonna lose again.
  7. ...but do we move on WITH Duke or do we accept someone's offer at some point? Hunt is another Wild Card type guy (like Gordon was a wild card).
  8. There are topics that shouldn't (can't actually) be discussed in the work place: Religion, Politics, Abortion, Gun Control.........issues where people feel STRONGLY on either side....and no matter what you say you are NOT going to convince the other side to adopt your view. What you'll get is someone who was walking by during the conversation going to HR because their little feelings were hurt by something that was said. - That's where society's at right now.
  9. Don't you remember there's a separation between church and state. (state pen that is)
  10. ....I don't know if I was or wasn't.......but I do. I certainly don't have all of the facts. But many times, where there's smoke, something got burned.
  11. I would be SHOCKED if that were true! He's always been such a nice guy. He comes from such a nice family.
  12. I've never understood why we let Ben Watson go, all those years ago. A GOOD TE and a good person. ...and I liked Darren Fells. A good blocker, caught it when it was thrown at him, and he was a good mentor to Baker. Like the time Baker got blasted trying to get to the sideline.....Fells went up to him on the sidelines, grabbed his head and said, "Please don't get hurt. We need you." And Baker responded, "Yes sir." We let Fells go and replaced him with Demetrius Harris., who has the same skill set. (it's hard to question Dorsey however)
  13. They're busy trying to figure out where exactly to put the polka-dots on our 2020 uniforms.....
  14. Right! ....only because it was Dorsey that drafted him...knows how good he is...and wants to add as many talented football players as he can (within budget).
  15. ok...so then Chubb, Duke & Hilliard...until at least week 8. Back in Hard Knocks, the infamous exchange between Hue and Freddie regarding occasionally not dressing a guy for practice to keep them from getting soft tissue injuries. I think Duke was one of those guys, in Hue's eyes. And although Hue wasn't a good HC, he wasn't ALWAYS wrong. He might've been right about putting Duke on a pitch count during the week.
  16. ...we're gettin' there... (awfully hard to root for the summer to hurry up and go by)
  17. That's because this isn't about money. It's about not being wanted. (the Not Expendable Yet comment) Its about not being able to get any playing time with the signing of Hunt (save the 8 game grace period). Duke wants to play football....and he doesn't see much of a chance to play here...so it's only natural to want to go somewhere and actually play. Like I say, now that this is out in the open, Duke, Baker, Dorsey, everyone, has to let the cards fall the way they may as time goes by....until TC...Until pre season...Until the reg season....etc. Dorsey knows that Duke wants to go. If the right deal comes along, I'm certain that he won't turn it down just to spite Duke.
  18. That is the single best thing that Duke can do......now that the football wold knows that he's open to being traded. Whether it be blocking, catching passes, running with the ball or being a player on the sidelines.....do it like a team should be interested in you. I'm hoping that it's in the past now. That when the players return and get questioned they can respond with something like, "We're done discussing that now. We're talking football'.
  19. Knowing what I know about Baker (which isn't all that much really), I wouldn't bet heavily on it. But I understand what you're saying. Perhaps he'll learn to steer away from sounding like he's spitting venom. We all like his fire, desire and spirit...but you can't go through life always saying what you think.
  20. Your thinking however was also correct.....but that was AFTER Ryan got rid of him. Carter DID learn his lesson (supposedly, though I never watched him live again). He DID become a mentor.
  21. My deceased best friend forever was a Vikings fan. He and I sat in the stands here in New England and watched Chris Carter jog his routes when he wasn't the primary.receiver. He and I actually understood when Buddy Ryan said, "All he does is catch touchdowns". - He gave no effort unless it was all about him.
  22. In the article Calloway says that he's taking it seriously this year.....that he didn't take it seriously last year, but THIS year he is taking it seriously. - That's nice of him.
