  1. Landry WAS productive last season. He caught 81 freakin passes while drawing a lot of coverage. His presence made Higgins & Njoku better. We'll deal with next year after we see what THIS year deals us.
  2. I think Phil Dawson was our best kicker. Red Right 88 happened because Cockroft missed a FG from roughly the same spot earlier in the game.
  3. The thought is keeping six. - a battle between Strong & Ratley. (I like the 6'4 Willies) Dorsey is like the anti Ray Farmer. Farmer didn't value receivers, "They don't handle the ball enough" he said. (in a passing league era. I'll never forget how disappointed I was when I heard him say that) Dorsey has done a great job of first, GETTING our QB....and then surrounding him with all of the weapons that he could get his hands on. OBJ...........NJOKU...x...x...x...x...x.......Landry.........Higgins .......................................Baker...........Chubb Play-fake to Chubb and how much you wanna bet Njoku or Higgins would be wide open?
  4. Didn't we just draft a CB? (a projected 1st rounder)
  5. I stated my view. You're the one who kept commenting on it. I'm not gonna change my view....no matter how many times you reply to it.
  6. Again, we do not live in the Bill Parcells era anymore. You can't call Terry Glenn 'she' because you wanted a lineman drafted instead. Dorsey came right out and told us , I'm not a wordsmith.' And it was that un-wordsmithed word, 'yet', that raised the Duke situation up a couple of notches. John Cleese said in an interview a few years back, 'You can't even play a college campus anymore. Comedy is satire. It's ridicule. And now everyone gets their little feelings hurt'.
  7. Hyde was the feature back, power running type (an older player). Dorsey then drafted Chubb to be the new feature back. Duke's roll didn't change. Pass catching (and pass blocking) RB, who spells the feature back. - Duke gets 3rd and long draw plays which help to push up his YPC. They don't envision him as a feature back. And when/if/how, Hunt shows up, Duke's roll will diminish more. Since Duke got paid, the position has received two major upgrades.
  8. That's because it was Hyde that was getting all of the carries...the carries that he wanted Chubb to be getting. Duke is the change of pace, receiving RB It's the day and age that we live in now. Everyone either has their little feelings hurt, or they're claiming that they're disrespected.
  9. ok, I stand (sit) corrected on point 'a'. I thought it was the previous summer.
  10. Two reasons. a) Dorsey didn't pay Duke 1) Duke becomes a cancer - then he must go 2) They really DO like Hilliard - as ballpeen attests ......just a couple of years ago, this very same Duke Johnson, was the best offensive weapon on the team. Landry...............x...x...x...x...x....Njoku...................OBJ ........Chubb...........Mayfield...........Johnson
  11. I understand that the volunteer camps are just that, voluntary. But OBJ just got traded to this team. And the team has a ton of new coaches and a new playbook. He should've made time in his busy OBJ life to be On The Job and In The Office, at least this year. ( IMO )
  12. ...lock him in there 'til November eh? I'm assuming that the cafeteria doesn't shut down for the summer. He'd be fed.
  13. Actually it's the fault of the Media......and Dorsey. After the Hunt signing it was the Media that asked Dorsey if the Hunt signing made Duke expendable....and Dorsey answered, Not yet. I think that would piss off most players. Whaddaya mean, Not yet? Is that the goal? To make me expendable? If the Media doesn't ASK, or if Dorsey doesn't say the word Yet....the Duke situation would not be of this magnitude.
  14. Mini camp is over. The boys of Fall have their marching orders (learn the playbook and be in shape). Six weeks of sun and fun. Are we concerned about anyone getting into trouble? We no longer have to wonder when Josh Gordon would fall off the wagon. The only receiver left from our Three Thug Set is Callaway. (3 thug = Gordon, Coleman, Callaway) OBJ is someone who's more eccentric than he is a trouble finder. Mayfield and Garrett seem to have their heads screwed on straight.... I guess the main guy to be worried about is Hunt (Callaway a distant 2nd). Hunt comes from a family of trouble. It's in his DNA it seems.
  15. One thing I DID like from JT was a few years ago........he said, You've GOT to have a good QB. If you're lucky enough to be on a good team, it's STILL going to come down to your QB. This league is so tough to win in. Many games are going to come down to you needing to come down the field at the end of the game to get the winning score....and you're not gonna be able to RUN yourself down the field. You need that QB that can bring you down the field. Poor JT....he JUST MISSED having that QB. The Ghoul always blamed JT for us not having a good QB....when in reality, it was the people in Dorsey's position that were to blame.
  16. Let's get him and make Duke room with him. Was the Skins OL known to be good or bad last year. (I think bad, no?)
  17. I hear OBJ made a nifty catch today. And Harrison was told not to miss the next flight home. - worked on Handle With Care (Traveling Wilburys), The Stake (Steve Miller), Animals (Big Al Anderson), Runnin Down Dream (Tom Petty) - I sucked. Gotta quit the yard work and get to practicin' (we talkin bout PRACTICE) - tourist asked the cab driver, How do you get to Carnegie Hall?
  18. I still blame Dorsey for some of this. After signing Hunt he was asked if this signing made Duke expendable and he answered, Not Yet. - I love Dorsey, but that one word was a blunder. ...I'm off to rehearsal to make music
  19. Yes. Obviously, a lot of players know enough to lay low. I'm sure Tom Brady (for example) has a smartphone....but he tends to use it to take pictures, text his buddies and check the weather. lol ......and Freddie DID win the lottery. He went from RB coach, to OC and then HC in half a season.
  20. Gimme the old days when players didn't always have a microphone in their face and a smartphone in their hands.
  21. A lot of attention paid to Duke on day 1. Duke talking about Duke. Mayfield talking about Duke, Kitchens talking about Duke, the media talking about Duke. Duke, Duke, Duke. ...other than that, Landry isn't gonna run around and play cause he's got a little injury. But last year he's telling the receiver's room that unless your leg is falling off, you need to practice. ?? Oh, and Freddie was seen with his arm around Duke on the practice field.
  22. As 'someone' would've said, 'The fat-ass offensive linemen are a dime a dozen'. The defensive linemen get the ball back for your QB. But the OL is charged with Protecting your QB. The DLinemen are not. If your QB gets hurt, you're sunk. I hope we have someone who can man that RG position.
