  1. As 'someone' would've said, 'The fat-ass offensive linemen are a dime a dozen'. The defensive linemen get the ball back for your QB. But the OL is charged with Protecting your QB. The DLinemen are not. If your QB gets hurt, you're sunk. I hope we have someone who can man that RG position.
  2. They were an all around good team. In those days the QB called a lot of the plays.
  3. Bart, Boyd Dowler, Carol Dale....they beat us multiple times. Was a different game then. More emphasis on the run. A less glitzy brand of football. Fringe fans didn't really exist back then. Even back then though, and with all of the great RB's (Horning, Jim Brown, etc) it was the QB would make or break your team. Whenever we played the Packers, I didn't have confidence. I just felt that Bart Starr was too good for us to be able to win. And as far as I ever knew, he was a good man. I respected him.
  4. ...point(s) taken. No doubt he would make us a better defense. If you can pressure the QB with your 4 down linemen then the back 7 can cover more of the field. So...you justify it by saying, 'Baker's gift was OBJ and Myles' gift is McCoy'. and then McCoy can buy an orange Rolls Royce too.
  5. Exactly. I don't want us ruining a team salary structure by overpaying an older player.
  6. ....in Corbert's defense, there's a new OL coach. He's probably learning different stuff from last year under Wiley. And I'm sure the playbook isn't exactly the same as last year (Todd Haley's...adapted by Kitchens). And he's being asked to play a different position than he played in college). - Smartly, Dorsey brought in other OLinemen also.
  7. ...but it's certainly stinking over there, here in the early going. From what I've read here and there Corbet seems to be doing just about everything wrong. Coaches are trying to coach him up on hand placement, foot-work, punch...you name it. He was a high draft pick, so he'll get some time......but he will have to show some kind of improvement from the 'coaching up' as this offseason, TC and preseason goes on.
  8. It's possible that Dorsey totally whiffed on the Corbet thing (including the trade). Hopefully the new OL coach can work a miracle with him.
  9. He's an older player. Maybe he likes the idea of not having to play every single play.
  10. 10 catches per season is not impressive numbers. It's not gonna be easy to make our WR roster this year.
  11. Congrats Cleveland! Enjoy! ......And with the 32nd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select _______________.
  12. Didn't they just resign Danny Shelton?
  13. Ya know, I didn't realize that DeValve had almost 50 receptions. The guy never plays. Are they including pregame warmups?
  14. Wylie was a hot shit.....but the man did not believe in stretching exersises. lol Every dog I've even known stretches before doing stuff.
  15. Agreed. Except the guy can also kick FG's if needed. That's kinda' handy.
  16. Two Words: Ignore List -- tailor the board to your liking.
  17. The Browns may have told him that he could play Tackle in case he went undrafted. He would then be more apt to sign with us. Now that they've drafted him they pretty much owe him a shot at tackle...but that doesn't mean they won't move him. Doesn't mean he makes the team either. All of the draft picks are good in May.
  18. They like division games for Thursday night because the travel is typically on the shorter side.
  19. I wasn't thinking that it should take the whole season (but there IS a lot of 'new'...coaches, playbooks, players, etc.....and the modern practice rules negotiated by the players union limits how much practicing you can do - - this is where teams with continuity have an advantage). Still though, I'm hoping that by the 4th or 5th game Baker and his receivers, old & new, will be in sync. The OL will also have to play well together...which is a concern.
  20. Not me. I knew we were gonna suck after the 10-6 season. I told people, "We don't have a QB! Derick Anderson sucks! He can throw it 70 yards but he can't complete a 5 yard crossing pattern on 3rd down." THIS time we HAVE a QB. (and much more) THIS time it's a totally different feeling.......for ME anyway. THIS time I'm telling people, "Yup, we're good on paper. We just gotta make sure that those pieces of paper do it on the actual football field."
  21. ...it's just plain weird...it's mid April.....and the draft is so, ho-hum. On draft night we can take the wife out to dinner and a movie. (in theory) We're used to having multiple 1st round picks....one of em' being top 3. ....and I'll say, "I want the tallest QB with the best mechanics." And somebody else would say, "So long as we don't take one with pick 22. It's cursed." ...it's just plain weird...
