Actually it's the fault of the Media......and Dorsey.   After the Hunt signing it was the Media that asked Dorsey if the Hunt signing made Duke expendable....and Dorsey answered, Not yet.

I think that would piss off most players.  Whaddaya mean, Not yet?  Is that the goal?  To make me expendable?

If the Media doesn't ASK, or if Dorsey doesn't say the word Yet....the Duke situation would not be of this magnitude.

BB in NE (my media handling hero) probably would have responded, "We signed Hunt".

It's ok to ignore stupid questions & statements from the likes of MKC, Grossi, & Cowherd.

Might try em, whats to lose but a few bucks.

With deer whistles, you need to be at 35mph or more for them to be effective. First time I experienced them working was on a dirt road headed to fish the Au Sable River in Grayling Mich in 2006. My fishing buddy asked why a deer stopped in the road ahead. I told him I thought it was my deer whistles. I slowed as deer are usually in pairs (or more) & when I got down in the low 20s, not only did the deer in the road run off, but we saw the white tail of the 2nd deer (which had already crossed the road) as it took off too.

    You won't regret the purchase.

Deer Whistles will work for you Bill. Inexpensive & they DO work. I put them on all Family vehicles years ago & we all can testify to multiple times where they worked. No hit deer in our Family since I started using them. I get mine at Auto Zone.

I've read mixed reviews of them.

So did I, but after hitting deer twice in a month years ago (Dec 2005), I figured I would try them on all Family vehicles. Not one of us has hit deer since & every one of us can give multiple examples of deer stopping & occasionally reversing. Believe me, at 7 bucks or less a pair, they're worth it.

Mixed reviews?....I was asked by another DW fan how many negative reviews may have been from body shops. Just a thought, but my experience is just that...EXPERIENCE! Try 'em.

missed a flight? Here's my full extent'd guess.. Freddie wants to be the only guy getting called for hugging* a d-linemen;)..i sense a failed test with suspension coming. With Des blaming a medical health drug..hope am wrong & good luck Des.. but I think we may have also found our better upgrade at Tackle..Forbes & Lamm..

Oh, I agree with you. As soon as Freddie said he "missed a flight", I thought, "...and now, the REST of the story".

Here the real enemy is the whitetail deer that has a tendency to jump in front of headlights. I went over my motorcycle one night only doing 30 when a suicidal kamikaze deer jumped out of woods right in front. I used both brakes but just before I thought I would hit him I put too much front brake on and over I went. MFer got away without even an impact while me and the bike went on sliding down the road. About two months ago the biggest buck I ever saw in this area jumped in front of me and I barely missed him with a quick move to the paved shoulder behind him. Otherwise he would have wrecked the front end of a new car at the very least. The braking swerve sure woke up my sleeping son in the passenger seat.😂😴

Gimme the old days when players didn't always have a microphone in their face and a smartphone in their hands.

I assume you refer to twitter, etc when you mention "smartphone". When will these players EVER (?) back off social media?

  7. Freddie's https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/video/freddie-kitchens-odell-is-here-to-make-plays

    Baker's  https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/video/baker-mayfield-i-expect-to-be-the-guy-that-everyone-can-count-on

Old culture...media controlled Pressers...no more!!! Freddie & Baker saw to that.

You just have to love these guys. Freddie certainly doesn't knuckle under to the media & he singled Grossi out today. I LMAO!

  8. The Periodic Table - Bureaucracy Style

Oxford University researchers have discovered the densest element yet known to science.

The new element, Governmentium (symbol=Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. It is also known in some scientific circles as Bureaucratium.

These 312 particles are held in place together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called pillocks.

Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every energy force or movement with which it comes into contact.

A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a day, to take from 4 days to 4 years.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 to 6 years.

It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places (also called promotion).

In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as a critical morass.

When it is catalysed with money, Governmentium undergoes a chemical change, reformulates, and becomes Administratium (symbol=Ad), an element that consumes just as much energy as Governmentium, but has half as many pillocks and twice as many morons.

    Mike......That's it, I'm off!

    Great summary Mike!

After Grossi was unsuccessful at predicting Baker would disappoint like Manziel only this time at level of a 1st overall pick being flushed down the toilet; he set out to make OBJ the very next Andre Rison type of disappointment.  Grossi and Mary Kay Yeahbut are more interested being the first ones to invent the hole in the new ship being constructed hoping it's another ship sinker.  Grossi's agenda has been clear since the day OBJ got traded here (without OBJ's knowledge I might add).  He'd rather focus on putting the message out there as often as he can that we just signed another Andre Rison.  Once this creates a band wagon picking up passengers and recruiting other media members - guess who's all proud he was first to create it all once again?  The second this franchise wins consistently, guess who disappears like a Houdini rabbit?   There is no way that guy wants this franchise to win; because he's gained far too much personally from all of it's short comings and tragedies.

I often wonder when we lost this team if Grossi wasn't more depressed about losing the ability to instigate and invent more problems than merely just losing the franchise that's been embedded in our family traditions, community and culture.  The guy has a God complex that easily recruits people trained to be cynics.  They will defend him like you see people in various cults defending their cult leaders who took advantage of their vulnerabilities pretending to have their best interests at heart while he's the only one that profits from doing so.

YEAH, we sucked for a LONG time so the rock star FAs/vets weren't interested in touching this place.  Even OBJ didn't really have much of a say in the trade if I remember it right.  There's been years we've had a lot of money and the alibi for never bringing in the most talented vets available was they wanted to win. The vets we did get via trade or FA usually were flawed or had best football in the rear view mirror.  We got so used to all that - we almost stopped questioning the FO for leaving so much money unspent while overpaying/overcompensating on others when we had to at least sign somebody.   Grossi and Mary Kay Yeahbut have been waiting for an opportunity like OBJ.  What can be better than being the man behind creating a cult following of cynics because a superstar veteran is missing voluntary practices in May?  Remember when Seth Wickerscam wanted to be first to predict the end of the dynasty in NE the offseason after NE beat Atlanta in the SB?  Yeah, he juiced up a story that there was a 3 way War of the Roses Divorce taking place between Brady, Kraft and BB.  And why?   Tom Brady was missing voluntary OTAs in May while pictures of him and his wife horseback riding outside of the country surfaced.  Here's the thing, a true professional that has worked his tail off to get where he is - never stops putting in the work during the off-season.  If anyone ever reads up on OBJ - a lot of sweat and busting tail has gone into his earning the spotlight. And when he had the brutal compound ankle fracture - a lot of hard work went into him getting back to the same level of performance.  Just like Tom Brady, OBJ has repeatedly proven he knows how to strength and condition his way to the level of performance that makes him a superstar regardless of Grossi's agenda throughout April and May...

In the end, if anyone wants to trust Grossi or Mary Kay because Cleveland USED TO suck - than keep trusting those 2.  That said, Cleveland has some sports writers without shadey agendas that are worth the read.  T Pluto and Steve D are pretty good at telling it like it is. When criticism is warranted - they provide it. But they also put some effort and passion into their research that's made for some great reads throughout the years. Grossi and Mary Kay Yeahbut are nothing more than Colin Cowherds so I choose not to buy what they're selling.  That said, Jerry Springer dominated the #1 viewer ranking for years in daytime television thanks in large to his biggest critics feeding those ratings with their insatiable all you can eat appetite.  Colin Cowherd tries to do the same thing.  The same fans in here are still his most reliable ratings feeders to the extent he's become a repeat subject heading with countless views and participants.  If you feed something - it strengthens and grows. If you starve it - it withers and dies.   If we're still feeding Grossi and Yeahbut - we need a new hobby...

    Bingo!

    Mike

  10. I have grown real tired of the media bashing of OBJ.

First, I'll say that I would have loved to see him at voluntary OTA's & think he should have been here, BUT they ARE voluntary & the media (esp Mary Kay & Grossi) need to get off his ass. He was signed to a huge contract last year by the Giants & was totally blindsided by the trade. I'm certain he had his offseason plans made, reservations made, confirmed, & probably paid prior to the trade, so they need to accept that & see what takes place when he gets here & hits the field. We finally have a "Super Star" in Cleveland, so why not just wait & see just how he takes care of business on the field where it counts..

The Browns culture has changed from "bush league" to "upper level" NFL. The Team, Fans, & League have bought into that. Now it's time for our "still bush league" media (MKC & TG) to can it with their negativity & buy into this culture change. It's been reported by them that Freddie is upset with OBJ. Listening to his PCs, I'm not hearing that. I'm hearing that he wishes OBJ was here & wants him to be here. IMHO, I feel his actual frustration is with the repeated, inane questions from the media & it's mostly those 2.

I'm not sure whether or not I stated this properly, but the local, continued negative reporting at the most positive time we've experienced with our Browns in MANY years is disgusting.

Just my opinion. Please excuse my rant.

  11. While we may lack established quality depth on the OL, I am interested to see what OL Coach Campen can do with incumbents & what may still happen with acquisitions. I do feel that we have major Coaching improvement on the OL & STs.

    Time will tell.

    Mike

  12. I lack the technical expertise of many on this Board but it just seems to me that, with all the debate of who may start & where, we are looking at far less drop off in production if & when injuries happen. The depth on this Team seems to be constantly improving. Training Camp should be most interesting this year.

  13. Combine training?.....HELL NO, not at my age! :D

I'm in section 536 & have to climb to row 19...after walking in from our Tailgate, that's my exercise for the week.

40 time...less than 15 minutes, verts...1 1/2"...Broad jumps?...those days are long gone & I'm married anyway, 3 cone times...as long as they're filled with ice cream, who cares?

  14. Myles is one helluva DE. I know it, you all know it, & NFL Teams know it. He will get a lot of "special treatment" from OLs this year. The big difference will be the guys on the DL with him. When MG is stopped, opportunities will be there for others & we have the horses now to take advantage of those opportunites. His sacks may go up, down, or stay as is, but his mere presence benefits the TEAM effort, whether or not he makes the tackle.

Myles Garrett is a playmaker AND play creator for others. THAT (imo) is what makes him great & so valuable. DPOY (based on stats)? Who knows? DMVP (based on value to Team)? Quite possibly.

    We'll see.
