  1. Funny story. Our Priest seldom drinks, but has attended the Draft Party every year. The 1st year, he asked for another beer & when I asked him if he had a preference, he said he really liked the stuff in the blue can. I still tease him about that (AND ask him if he wants to try the Old Leghumper), but I always make sure there's always Labatt's here for Father. Mike
  2. In the ManCave, we'll have Old Leghumper Porter, Paulaner Hefe-Weizen, Shiner Bock, Commodore Perry IPA, Labatt Blue, & Coors Light. If anybody wants anything else, they had better bring it! After all, I'm cookin' too. Mike
  3. Sure! I'll make you a deal...You pay for your round trip flight over here & I'll pay for the "flights of beers"! (over here, they serve "flights" of 4 different beers at many bars). Mike
  4. I saw that Paulaner glass & had to comment. I really like their Hefe-Weizen! Reminds me I'll have to pick some up for my Draft Party. Mike
  5. Removing seeds & veins from jalapenos (or any hot pepper) will "cool" them considerably. Also, the ones gown in the hot, dry southwest will be considerably hotter than those grown around here. Mike
  6. I make all my own rubs. It started over 20 years ago when I, being less than pleased with store bought fried turkey rubs, started experimenting & developed a rub for deep fried turkey that's excellent & I never have to worry about it being "discontinued". Mike
  7. Bill, Right now, Shiner Bock is on sale here for $12.99 a 12 pack (6 packs still $8.99). I've bought all 4 12 packs they had 2 weeks running & headed back for more tomorrow! BTW, just got (via USPS) my HEB order for Gebhardts & Adams chili powders. Will place an order soon with Penderys for some chilis. Mike
  8. Hey Larry, Some day go to The Black Pelican in Kitty Hawk, NC. Try the blackened tuna or at least the "grilled tuna bites with salsa". I get BOTH every trip & even "fish haters" in my family love these. Both are very flavorful without a "fishy" taste. Mike
  9. #1...I LOVE seafood, but I WILL NOT order it inland. If you have ever eaten good seafood on the coast, you'll understand. #2...Cincinnati chili (IMHO) SUCKS! Family members LOVE it, but I was very disappointed. I like good, spicy chili & that means with NO BEANS!!! For hotdogs, I "tweeked" a Mr Food coney sauce recipe that has become a favorite among friends. Mike
  10. LOL. Thought of my favorite grocery, "H-E-B", in Texas. Thanks for the reminder...I just ordered some Gebhardt's & also Adams chili powders. Mike
  11. I'm taking your word for it Steve. Color me envious. I am a good cook EXCEPT for chili. I have tried to make it from scratch many times & it has always come out lousy. Is yours spicy or mild? Mike
  12. Bill, I look forward to actually meeting you in person. If you're driving, try to stop in Memphis to eat at Corky's BBQ. Not sure about the fall colors, but you just may hit it right...all depends on weather, which hasn't exactly been predictable in recent years. Mike
  13. Sure brought good fortune to my Bucks!!! BTW, the beer in that koozie is Old Leghumper Porter by Thirsty Dog Brewing from Akron. Mike
  14. Yeah...Sociables with Black Diamond Extra Sharp Cheddar Spread is great. In fact, I'm gonna load up on some now for the end of Bucks vs ??? Mike
  15. Kyrie couldn't win before LBJ returned, can't hold a lead now when LBJ rests. I, for one, will welcome getting PLAYERS and ridding our Cavs of the "mad dribbling, low assist" Kyrie. He's very talented, but not a Team player. No great loss & MAY end up being a building block. Mike
  16. Remember that scene in "Christmas Story" when the kid's tongue stuck to the flagpole in freezing weather? Just the thought is amusing. Mike
  17. That's the story I had heard many years ago about the Browns' colors. Mike
  18. BG, home of the Browns' 1st training camp & same Team colors. Mike
