Yesterday, our tailgate was mostly pretty standard stuff (burgers, 'dogs, brats, bacon wrapped smokies, etc) but I made a good sized batch of my beef jerky & it was a hit. We decided it is good luck, so it will be added to standard fare at our future tailgates. Last home game I took bacon wrapped olives which are good IF you like olives, but most of our guests do not, so those are now off the tailgate list. Mike

The Chiefs have Mahomes & they are happy with him. He's NOT here. The Browns have Mayfield & I (for one) am happy with him. He IS here. I see no need to discuss the other when we have our guy! Just my opinion. Mike

Flugel broke the news to me via text while I was at the game today.I was (am) absolutely shocked & we, as a community, have lost a good man. Stan, thanks for the win today. I am sure you had a hand in it. Prayers for your Family & loved ones. RIP. Mike

I certainly won't disagree. We'll be watching, won't we Gip? Mike

Greg's message seems clear...LEARN from the negatives & BUILD on the positives. That will lead to growth & improvement. Mike

Add me to your "barbarian" list. It's about time a VERY stern message gets sent! Just do it soon. Mike

My Prayers are with all affected by this tragedy. Mike

Anymore, I'm a beer guy. I do have a set of Browns' shot glasses surrounding a 5th of Bushmills Irish Whiskey that will get a workout with the first win. I have never even looked at fake ice cubes & I'm not "techie" enough to worry about temperature. IF I have ice, it's 2 small cubes in about 3 shots of whiskey. When we beat the Steelers, it's a shot of Bushmills chased with an Old Leghumper porter. Mike

Former Brown Winslow arrested for burglary
Canton Mike replied to DieHardBrownsFan's topic in THE BROWNS BOARD
If he had, he'd never have made it out of the parking lot! Mike -
Ah, the descendent of Thacker's Hamburgers on E Market St in East Akron near where I lived when I was young. At Goodyear shift change time you couldn't get in the door. I haven't yet been to Hamburger Station, but I hear they're just like the old Thacker's. Mike

I recently (without thinking) ordered a double cheeseburger at the drive up. When I pulled up to pay & questioned the price, I was told I should have ordered a McDouble (for 40 or 50 cents less)! The difference in the sandwiches?...ONE slice of cheese. Mike

Funny story. Our Priest seldom drinks, but has attended the Draft Party every year. The 1st year, he asked for another beer & when I asked him if he had a preference, he said he really liked the stuff in the blue can. I still tease him about that (AND ask him if he wants to try the Old Leghumper), but I always make sure there's always Labatt's here for Father. Mike

In the ManCave, we'll have Old Leghumper Porter, Paulaner Hefe-Weizen, Shiner Bock, Commodore Perry IPA, Labatt Blue, & Coors Light. If anybody wants anything else, they had better bring it! After all, I'm cookin' too. Mike

Sure! I'll make you a deal...You pay for your round trip flight over here & I'll pay for the "flights of beers"! (over here, they serve "flights" of 4 different beers at many bars). Mike

I saw that Paulaner glass & had to comment. I really like their Hefe-Weizen! Reminds me I'll have to pick some up for my Draft Party. Mike

Removing seeds & veins from jalapenos (or any hot pepper) will "cool" them considerably. Also, the ones gown in the hot, dry southwest will be considerably hotter than those grown around here. Mike

I make all my own rubs. It started over 20 years ago when I, being less than pleased with store bought fried turkey rubs, started experimenting & developed a rub for deep fried turkey that's excellent & I never have to worry about it being "discontinued". Mike

Bill, Right now, Shiner Bock is on sale here for $12.99 a 12 pack (6 packs still $8.99). I've bought all 4 12 packs they had 2 weeks running & headed back for more tomorrow! BTW, just got (via USPS) my HEB order for Gebhardts & Adams chili powders. Will place an order soon with Penderys for some chilis. Mike

Hey Larry, Some day go to The Black Pelican in Kitty Hawk, NC. Try the blackened tuna or at least the "grilled tuna bites with salsa". I get BOTH every trip & even "fish haters" in my family love these. Both are very flavorful without a "fishy" taste. Mike

#1...I LOVE seafood, but I WILL NOT order it inland. If you have ever eaten good seafood on the coast, you'll understand. #2...Cincinnati chili (IMHO) SUCKS! Family members LOVE it, but I was very disappointed. I like good, spicy chili & that means with NO BEANS!!! For hotdogs, I "tweeked" a Mr Food coney sauce recipe that has become a favorite among friends. Mike

LOL. Thought of my favorite grocery, "H-E-B", in Texas. Thanks for the reminder...I just ordered some Gebhardt's & also Adams chili powders. Mike
