Jordy Nelson, Fitz, Edlemen, Sanders, Keenan, Woods.... All considered "possession" receivers. Be careful how you slap around that title.
I agree, money will be an issue in the next couple years and we're going to find out how selfless this team is.
But this is a clickbait article to troll at best. But given the OP... Not a surprise.
Edit: Cupp, Thielen, Ty Williams, Allen Robinson, Michael Thomas - Long ass list of great receivers many call "possession".
Landry is the equivalent of a firstbaseman with little power.
He might play solid defense, hit for a decent average, be a good clubhouse guy, but eventually the team will look for a Frank Thomas to play first.
I don't think it's given he's gone, not at all, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least either.

He's a possession receiver making a ton of money on a team that finally has young talent, young talent that will need to paid big money to remain on the Browns.
Wouldn't shock me at all if this is Landry's last season with the Browns.

Dutch,
The 2 folks I referred to, MKC & Grossi, CONTINUE their negative crap during these new, positive times & you're DEFENDING their continuing with the negative BS because of the past? Sad.
It's time to stop looking back & START looking ahead!
Mike
I've seen people bitch and moan about those two (and others who dare report how shitty this organization has been) during 2-14 seasons.
I want specific instances of the "sad" negative crap they have written regarding these new and positive Browns that was completely baseless and unwarranted Mike.
Because I've seen Grossi on STO's RedZone for years, and as much as some of you complain about him, he is almost giddy talking about the Browns when they actually win or make smart organizational moves - for someone so many people think loves to shit on the Browns just to shit on the Browns. Hoorta has mentioned this multiple times too.

Simple & to the point, thank you.
I think many on this Board would LOVE to see Cowherd, Grossi, & MKC go away. The only way that will happen is by ignoring them. PERIOD!
Mike
Cowherd is a hack who only thrives because people like so many on this board get all riled up over his laughably obvious attempts to piss them off.
Regarding the local press, how exactly should have this franchise been covered over the last two decades? They have had TWO winning seasons since coming back in 1999, one playoff appearance (an epic choke job to your biggest rival) and have lost roughly 2/3rds of their games.
Reporting on this franchise in a positive light over all these years would have been ridiculously negligent to their readers. The Browns deserved all the negative press they got. You want someone to shove sunshine up your butt while the Browns flailed along helplessly? Watch Nathan Zegura.
Hopefully that era of futility is over, and the local media can report on the positive future.

Bonus. It is true what Vagitron says...he is an extremely well liked contributor to this forum.
Love it - He seeks your attention and often gets it......with Gip leading the pack.....
My assigned job on here is to hammer the heads of Steeler fans and to put my foot on their necks. Would you like to take over that assignment? Or would you rather that their stupidity be ignored, their delusions go uncontested, their arrogance be accepted without challenge?
Does this assigned job come with a job title? 401k? Stock options?

I hope to get two Pro-Bowl caliber seasons out of OBJ, before he pulls the stunts that got him run from the Giants.
It's going to be interesting to see all those on here who are so behind him now when it inevitably goes bad later.
So I'll take two really good seasons from him... anything beyond that is gravy.

I know what you mean.
I think the Cavs championship is more impressive than any championship MJ or Kobe won. They literally beat the best team in the history of the NBA after a 3-1 deficit. Legendary performance under a rookie head coach.
Warriors are fortunate that the Cavs ran out of gas with about 7 healthy players in 2015, the same way the Cubs are lucky that the Indians ran out of gas in the 2016 World Series with roughly 2 healthy starting pitchers.

It's just Ironic because Joe Thomas had a ton of praise for the kid last year.... They must really be sold on GR.
I like Joe Thomas as much as the next guy, but the dude has a lot of bad takes.

I'd like to see Duke get traded, since he's pretty much wasted on this team and we don't need the distraction.

It's not exactly a strong overall unit. Not weak, but I wouldn't consider it a strength.
I still feel optimistic about Njoku, he played much better as the season went on.

Speaking of Skynyrd, anyone see the new documentary "If I Leave Here Tomorrow" about them? Been on Showtime, it's really good.

Teammates, coaches and even things like rule changes where you cannot hit the QBs and even WRs so they can rack up big numbers and hang around longer.
Near 40 year old quarterbacks at one time used to be harder to do.
Definitely easier to pass now than it probably ever has been... plus players are in much better shape because of advanced knowledge on fitness, strength, diet, etc...
-
I think an argument could easily be made that no "dynasty" QB has had less talent on offense around him as Tom Brady.
The Patriots aren't likable, but what they've done is wicked impressive. We may never see anything like this again, or for a long time.

Bart, Boyd Dowler, Carol Dale....they beat us multiple times. Was a different game then. More emphasis on the run. A less glitzy brand of football. Fringe fans didn't really exist back then. Even back then though, and with all of the great RB's (Horning, Jim Brown, etc) it was the QB would make or break your team. Whenever we played the Packers, I didn't have confidence. I just felt that Bart Starr was too good for us to be able to win. And as far as I ever knew, he was a good man. I respected him.
They also had the greatest coach in football history, which didn't hurt.

I remember the Xenia tornado in 1974....but I was nowhere near it, being here in Akron area.
About 10 or so years later we had one rip through Newton Falls and Niles. Pretty horrific.

Does he like him some crystals?

You make an interesting point jiggins, and many people who follow the Browns thought that Corbett was going to be the eventual replacement for Tretter at center, not Zeitler at guard.

I always felt he was one of the best & maybe the most under rated QB in NFL history.
RIP Bart.
Mike
That's a pretty fair assessment.
Hell, most people when asked who was the best NFL QB who played at Alabama would instinctively say "Namath" without considering Starr. I guess Starr wasn't flashy enough.

What's handy is that West Virginia jokes can be used for Steeler fan jokes rather easily, since the subject manner involves similar demographics.
What's a family tree of a Steelers fan look like? A Xmas wreath.
What's unique about a couple who are Steelers fans getting married? All the couple's family sits on the same side of the church.
How do you know a Steelers fan invented the toothbrush? Because anyone else would have called it a 'teethbrush'.
