  1. I hope you guys have a great season. I will be rooting for the Browns. You guys are great sports and a ton of fun. I hope my humor did not offend anyone. In my circle flipping shit is a form of affection. BTW, the last time I hung out on a board for a few days the team went on a crazy win streak. Just saying.

    Peace and love bros.

I agree with you Z....I put the Freddie Jokes thread up there to just have fun with all the others infected with "Downers Syndrome".

And let me get this out of the way, before I forget.  Thank you for the Scarlett pics.  God, what lovely breasts. I will augment with another celebrity in a bit.

    But, to the games.

Trivia Question:   Why do I pick this score for my pick:    Browns 23  Broncos 20?     (beyond the fact that I think the Broncos defense plays well...and while the Browns will win, their offense will just still be sputtering a bit)

Patriot at Ravens.    All Bill Belichick has to do is watch the film of the Browns win in Baltimore earlier He is a smart guy, he learns.  Pats 45 Ravens 30.

Colts at Steelers.   Frank Reich folks may be one of the best coaches in the league, fyi.   And despite losing Luck....they will still have luck on their side (but it won't really be luck, it will just be that they are better)   Colts 27 Steeler 13.

Cincinnati on their Bye. Bengals can take over the lead for the #1 draft pick...because, supplemental pick:  Dolphins 21, Jets 14, leaving Bengals only winless team in the league.

This week I supplement Zs celebrity pickers with a couple of others....Ride those Broncos!!    Here are Vlad and Chelsea Handler:

What has happened to Browns fan?

We have been through Red Right 88, The Drive, The Fumble, The Move, 20 years of horseshit and 0-16 ... But when we start to assemble our most talented team in 25 years and that team stumbles to a 2-5 start against a ball buster schedule we lose our shit?

Honestly I haven't been participating in the board much this week because it makes me sad. Ghoolie would be proud of you guys ... half of you anyway. I'm just looking down the list of threads here:

    Baker "attacks" media... Did he?

So whats wrong with Baker? ... New coaching staff, new teammates, rough schedule?

    Fire Freddy ... Fuck you.

Freddy jokes ... Did you hear the one about the fans that jumped off the bandwagon?

Baker interception one of the worst of all time ... You want Weeden back?

Panic button suggestion thread ... That's actually a good one, keeps you all in one place

If we lose to Denver say goodbye to Freddy ... Say goodbye to your man card.

Freddie closed to being fired? ... I don't think we've covered this issue

Why is OBJ making so much money? ... Because he's an NFL player with game-changing ability and you're not

And the North is owned by ... We haven't lost a game in the division yet and your crowning someone else?

This doesn't include all the threads I had to merge that are similar bitchfests and everything from some attention hound called Coach Todd .. who I doubt is a real Browns fan anyway.

You guys have been so negative and so Un-Browns fans that you don't even deserve a Celebrity Guest Picker this week. But you are getting Scarlett Johansson anyway, so deal with it:

    7Gf3H7Q-BELez9SPO2y2lBnZrxI7XMPYAwo34AsN

Listen, we are all frustrated with the turnovers and penalties, but where did you realistically predict this team to be at the end of the year? Seems like most were thinking 9-7 or maybe 10-6. Well, that's still on the table, so why you freaking?

Put aside the Tits game for now, because that game was a microcosm of everything we have done wrong this year, against a team we should have beat, and at home. But the Titans have had three consecutive winning seasons and are 4-4 ... we haven't had a winning season in 12 years ... so quit your crying about that game, anyways. The other team we "should have beat", the Jets, we did beat. Here is the rest of the schedule and their current NFL power ranking according to NFL.com:

    Rams #12

    Ravens #10

    Niners #2

    Seahawks #6

    Patriots #1

Those are all projected playoff teams this year, all but one playoff team last year, the two Super Bowl teams from last year, and the two top ranked teams this year. So if you had us 10-6 or 9-7,  the fact that we lost 4 of 5 of those games shouldn't have you losing your shit. All those games, except the Pats, were with our two top corners injured as well. We lost our starting TE too, which people seem to forget.

I'm not happy with the discipline and turnovers so far. I'm not happy that we had all offseason and haven't come up with better than Justin McCray as our left tackle. But I look at the rest of our roster and I feel sorry for the nine limpdick teams we are about to bitchslap.

We KNOW Baker can play better. Personally, I am 100% sure he WILL. We have great wide receivers. Nick Chubb is a fucking stud. Myles Garrett is a fucking stud. We lost our starting outside backer too, but Wilson is getting better every week. I think our defense is starting to show signs that it is going to light it up down the stretch.

This is a talented football team. So we weren't ready to start the season against quality teams that have already made their way to the top. So our party was delayed seven games ... it's still coming. We are going to start summarily dismissing teams and it is going to be fun ... except for the pussies that will say "weak schedule" until we complete the sweep of the Ravens on December 22nd and win the division and host a playoff game.

Until then, to half of you I say "Shut up and enjoy the ride" to the other half, you know who I'm talking about ... The guy who was at the sportsbar every week during 1-15, the guy who was at home watching every game looking for positives during 0-16, the guy who froze his ass off during Red Right 88, still has a Gerard Warren jersey and his password is "KarlisMissed" ... the guy who looks at our roster today and says, "hold on, we have a football team here", I say to you ... "Our time has come. Here we go, Brownies, Here we go!"

Indianapolis at Pittsburgh 1:00 PM, Sunday

I bet this one looked real good to CBS in August: A midseason Luck v. Rothlisberger matchup at Heinz in midseason. Well, shit happens. And some teams have a good backup plan (Jacoby Brissett) and some teams don't (Maya Rudolf). COLTS 27 STEELERS 10

Cincinnati at The Bye 1:00 PM, Sunday

Bungles decide that having an experienced, winning qb was their problem all along, and go with an inexperienced nobody rookie to give their team a boost. BYE 34 BUNGLES 3

    Cleveland at Denver, 4:25, Sunday

Speaking of nobody backup QBs, the football gods have handed Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward, and the Browns defense a very nice get-well present: Some clown name Brandon Allen. It could be Byron Allen, Steve Allen, or an Allen Wrench, it won't matter. Baker and the offense get a much tougher test with the Bronco defense, but I see big games for Bake, Chubb and OBJ in a breakout fashion BROWNS 33 BRONCOS 7

New England at Baltimore, 8:25 Sunday Night Football

If you hate smug, ignorant Ravens fans like I do, you will enjoy this one. Prime Time Brady versus the offense that couldn't shoot straight. Don't look now Chicken Little Bitches, the Browns are 2 games back with a one-game head-to-head edge. PATRIOTS 34 RAVENS 17

Hot take or some truth in it? Personally I don't think Kitchens is coaching the mistakes out of Mayfield both on and off the field.

Probably some of both. The line I liked was the suuggestion that when you act up as a winner you are colorful. When you are losing it is not a good look. This might not be fair but Mayfield needs to understand the impact his actions have on his team.

I had not heard that Gordon had been released....but I certainly did expect that.   And I had not heard that he was picked up by Seattle, until this post.  Interesting.   Pete Carroll is going to wave his white haired wizards wand and make everything right with Gordon, eh?

We shall see.  Maybe the lack of sunshine in Seattle is all it will take for him to turn it around.

It is always sunny here Gip. Rainbows and butterflies brother.

In other news, you got yourself a Gordon. Curious your thoughts on the matter?

I am not a huge fan. Pete has a way of bringing a group of characters together that are considered difficult and getting them to work as a team. Guys like Baldwin, Lynch and Sherman that were on the same team and loved each other like brothers. He is probsbly as good a bet as any to get some value out of Gordon. In the end it will be up to Gordon. I am skeptical but it is low risk. What do you think?

Tom Brady has stormed off from a podium before (he has done it multiple times and as recently as this year) .  So has Aaron Rodgers. So has a myriad of other quarterbacks. So have a ton of coaches including bellicheck (pretty winning coach). Baker didn't cuss him out or threaten to fight him.  It's not Ryan leaf. Quit overreacting

Not at the beginning of their careers. When you are losing it looks like panic. If he starts to really win, he can act up. Until then he needs to really be careful. You have seen this before.

Hate to tell you Vince Lombardi is dead. And we don't know what goes on in team meetings...

Grossi and Mary Kay Rabbit are not his friends.

    Yes they are...

Winning cures a lot of "attitude" problems. Some of the biggest jerks in the history of the NFL got away with it because they played on winning teams.

I'll give you some history Coach. Grossi got fired from the Cleveland Plain Dealer for being a jerk. Hooked up with ESPN. Care to believe he's not POed for getting shit-canned by the local paper? Guess again. He has no sources anymore from inside with the team- but he does have a press pass. Him and Mary Kay Cabot are just looking for openings to pile on. They're experts on feeding crap to the local dim-bulbs who want Freddie fired and Baker replaced.

You want anything 1\2 objective? Read Terry Pluto or Dan Labbe.

I appreciate the context. The media is full of jerks. He sounds like a D bag. My earlier point is you can get away with being moody and pissy when you are winning. When you are losing it makes your team and support system lose confidence in you. It looks like panic. It often is. Ryan Leaf talks about this in a pretty honest way. Mayfield is a good kid that is probably a little scared. He just needs to reel it in a little.

This is my opinion and I have never met him so I could be totally misreading the situation.

Well, thank God for the bye week. The Browns have floundered to a 2-4 start, full of injuries, penalties, bad play and bad decisions.

But, despite coming off their break against the undefeated Super Bowl Champions, this talented team is in no way out of it. They just need to come together as a team. And play like their hair is on fire. Like Crazed Dawgs. Or Mad Men, if you will ... which brings us to this week's celebrity guest prognosticator, Christina Hendricks:

    gjl7bSA.jpg

With Baltimore on a bye, there is a free half game out there for the taking, let's see who takes it, here is what the curvy redhead advises the Great Zomboni:

Cincinnati vs LA Rams, Sunday, 1:00 PM in London

The only thing better than a bye week is having the Bungles and a free trip across the pond. You get the week off, a win and a vacation! RAMS 30 BUNGLES 14

Cleveland at New England, Sunday, 1:00 PM

Patriot fans, who think Bill Belichick was Adam and Tom Brady was Eve, will be surprised to learn that the Browns actually lead the all-time series AND won the only post-season meeting. Four fond memories for TGZ:

1977, Monday Night Football, first time I was allowed to stay up on a school night for an entire MNF game, and it was worth every second of it as Sipe and company beat the Patsies 30-27 on a Don Cockroft field goal to move to 2-0 on the season, and I may not have learned much in school the next day, but I strutted pass every damn Steeler fan in the hallway with my head up.

New Years Day 1995. The Browns were in the playoffs for the first time in 5 years and I had a 12 pack of cold brew and some hoagies, hidden away at my girlfriend's house so that no one could find me and bother me during the game. Bill Belichick, the student, outshone the master, Bill Parcels, as his defense rattled a young Drew Bledsoe and picked him off three times, while Vinne T played a mistake-free game on the other side of the ball and Leroy Hoard rumbled and stumbled the clock away for the win, 20-13. Yes, kids, we used to win playoff games.

The 2000 season was an ugly one for the Browns. After the young team started 2-1, there was a lot of optimism for the future, but then the wheels started to come off, injuries mounted, there wasn't much depth, and when Tim Couch went down the feeling was the Browns wouldn't win another game. Well, they won one. Belichick was now on the other sideline, facing a journeyman QB that would one day beat him in the Super Bowl as a coach, Doug Pederson. It wasn't that the game was so memorable, the Browns D stifled a now veteran Drew Bledsoe, and Pederson and Travis Prentice and co. somehow got Phil Dawson in position to make four field goals, but it just felt good to win a damn game at that point in our "expansion" teams blundering start, and watching Belichick take the 19-11 L didn't hurt.

By 2010, the Patriots were now "The Patriots" and the Browns were still struggling a decade later. But for one glorious Sunday, their fortunes reversed, and the Browns dominated the Brady/Belichick Pats, 34-14. The Browns kept Brady on the bench, controlling the game with Peyton Hillis running behind fullback Lawrence Vickers for 184 yards and 2 TDs, while rookie Colt McCoy, who started the season as the third-string clipboard holder, ran for a TD himself and engineered a mistake-free, efficient passing game. The Patriots would go 14-2 that season, and the Browns would stumble to 5-11, but for one Sunday, it was the Browns student teaching the Patriots master a lesson again, as Mangini and his Browns trounced Bill.

This week, the student is Freddie Kitchens, who from humble beginnings on the Parcels tree, found himself elevated from unknown running backs coach to head coach in charge of saving the franchise within months. The Master is on top of his game as maybe never before, putting the defense in his own hands and leading them to completely dominating 7-0 start. But with the Browns having two weeks to prepare and the Patriots having just six days and swirling rumor about Brady leaving, is this one of those weeks where the tables are turned and the Master is on the other side of a lesson? I say yes. and Kristina agrees:

Baker Mayfield finally gets in sync with his starting WRs, serving up big scores like Monday Night Sipe, while Nick Chubb is high-stepping like Hillis in the second half to salt the game away, the Browns D frustrates Brady so much that he wishes he was in his easy chair like Bledsoe. BROWNS 34-14

    Patriots going down ...

    giphy.gif

Oh wait, apparently there is another game:

Miami at Pittsburgh, Monday Night Football, 8:15 PM

Please tell me you took Pittsburgh in the survivor poll. Cause I had Minnesota, so I get to sit back this weekend. And you get to watch Fitzmagic ruin your night. DOLPHINS 24 STEELERS 22

    The end.

I wish he would just look at Tony and say, “No Comment” everytime he asked something. Guy is a dick. He and Mary Kay can both take the next train outta town and nobody would care.

Baker does have issues.....which we could dissect,   but basically, making mistakes, not seeing the field properly...and etc.  I certainly am not saying he doesn't have problems that need to be corrected.

You get it right. Nobody wants him to like losing. You get that right? If not it is time to move on. You sound like a total dumbass. It is how he acts in public. Jesus dude. Have you ever played anything? Led anything.
