    Mayfield

Yeah...Mayfield will probably be going to the bathroom today. I'm sure the so called media will be monitoring his actions, That way you morons will have something else to bitch about....UNBELIEVABLE.
  2. Bottom line....we are much worse this season than last season. The only change other than so called "improvements to the defense".....is Mayfield. I'm not saying he was great, but in his 4 seasons, he was a hell of a lot better than he looks now. I chalk it up to the Browns ruining another qb. Yes...if they would have drafted Josh Allen, Mahomes or Lamar Jackson we would still be in the same boat. Just my opinion.
  3. Yes...a group of fine upstanding men....same as our fine politicians🤮
  4. Carolina 31.....Cleveland 27....the better qb makes the difference.
  5. Definitely not worth it...superbowl or not. I could have dealt with going after Russel Wilson, Garrapalo, or anyone else. Watson is a big mistake. He hasn't played in 2 years, and I. personally would have never considered him an elite qb. If I'm wrong and the Browns go on to win the next 3 superbowls, I'll admit I was wrong. But....even that won't reverse the negativity caused by this fiasco. Red right 88...the drive....the fumble...and now....the trade.
  6. Yeah...I'm also a fan of Mayfield's....so what? He's the first Cleveland qb since '99 to make me think we had a chance to win any game. So...the genius, Andrew Berry and Haslam put their pea brains together, and think Watson is the quickest way to get to the Superbowl?? Personally, I think he's the most overrated qb in the NFL. Then...they trade away all their first round picks for the next 3 years, and pay him $230 million GUARANTEED?? Even without all his shady massage encounters, that took a special kind of stupidity. Players come and go, so trading Baker was not a deal breaker for me. I guess the worst thing is dragging the Cleveland Browns name through the mud, and returning the franchise to the comfortable place as the laughing stock of the NFL...again. So yeah...I'm rooting for the Panthers and Mayfield on September 11th. Haslam has done more to ruin this team than any other owner...including Modell. If it was up to me, Haslam would be removed as the owner of the franchise and banned from ever owning another NFL team.
  7. I really had no problem with moving on from Mayfield, even though I thought it was a little premature. There must have been something to the rumors about him and Stefanski not seeing eye to eye. The problem I have with this mess is Deshaun Watson...well, more like Jimmy Haslam. I've always felt that Watson was overrated. I know about his stats in 2020, but his team only won 4 games. I have to think a lot of those numbers came in garbage time. For Haslam to sign this guy to that huge contract, knowing that this was coming, is about the dumbest move since Modell moved the team. I would be fine if it was Russell Wilson, or Garropolo, or anybody else. So...yes, I'm still a fan of Baker Mayfield...even though there were several time last season, that I was screaming for Stefanski to bench him. I can only hope that this backfires on Haslam, to the point where he decides to sell the team. He's the reason that the Browns continue to be the joke of all sports.
  8. ....and to think that there are some, who believe this management actually had a plan when they decided to trade for Watson...what a train wreck!
  9. If you want clarity...a back up qb is in place to fill in for the starting qb if he can't play due to injury or some other valid reason. I could argue that Mayfield should have been removed from the active roster immediately after the shoulder injury. Every NFL player who is worth anything will deny the severity of his injury, so he isn't benched. No matter how anti - Mayfield you are, unless you're blind, you could see that he was affected by the injury. I refuse to believe that Stefanski was the only one involved in making the decision to continue to play Mayfield, knowing that his play was impaired. He may have been cleared by the medical staff to the extent that he couldn't further damage his shoulder, if he played...probably because they already knew that it would require surgery and extensive rehab, so he would be lost for the season. No...the back up qb was not a better qb, but any real HC would have been able to see that Mayfield struggled beyond the 2nd quarter. He didn't just go from being one of the most accurate deep ball passers, to not being able to get the ball to an open receiver for no reason. I'm not referring to OBJ, here. He, obviously had an agenda to get out of Cleveland before he got here. As I stated before...I would love to see a video of plays that Mayfield delivered to OBJ, in his hands, and were dropped. There were many more of those that I remember, than bad throws to him by Mayfield.
  10. Yes...there are a lot of things that wreak of Stefanski sabotaging Mayfield last season....especially not pulling him out with the shoulder injury. What HC let's the qb decide if he can play with a serious injury? Even so, I'm not ready to fire him yet. I still believe he can be a very good HC. I'm weary of trying to remember who our HC is every season.
  11. Nice...I love C 5's...here's my latest...'99, Nassau blue, just installed supercharger.
  12. Where are the pics of the vette?
  13. Why don't these morons who are reporting how Mayfield's teammates disliked him, provide some names ore quotes?...because it's B.S., that's why... OBJ??....who gives a crap about that whiney ass prima dona? He never wanted to come here, and tried every angle to get out. He sure as Hell was no top notch receiver here. I could make a video of easy throws that he just dropped that would be longer than the one he produced. Why would Mayfield continue to throw him the ball, when he drops everything he touches?
  14. In 1964, I was listening to the Championship game on my 3 transistor pocket radio, that required a small earphone. I've been through all the crap.....Bellichik... the team leaving.... losing season after losing season...But this fiasco has pushed me beyond my limits. It's not so much the Mayfield thing. It's more the Watson thing. I find myself hoping he's suspended for the season, then hoping he sucks in 2023. I'm not rooting for him. Not now, not ever. Personally, I hope Haslam has to pay him every penny, and that he never plays a down for the Browns. Watson wanted no part of the Browns...until they offered him $230 million, guaranteed. Yes...there were several other teams interested in him, but not at that price, and not for 3 first round picks. No matter what you Watson lovers say....he is not a top 5 qb. He had outstanding stats for 2020, with only winning 4 games. Statistics are for losers. Just when the Cleveland Browns were starting to gain a little respect around the NFL, dumbass Haslam, with one stupid decision, puts us right back as the laughing stock of all sports franchises.
  15. OBJ was our best receiver??....that's a joke! I saw him drop more easy passes than Braylon Edwards. I'm glad he's gone....overrated prima dona....
  16. A lot of these morons are going to find out soon how good Baker is. Jacoby Brissett?? LMAO!...
  17. Sorry....unintentional interruption. As I was saying....Josh Allen, like Testeverde, looked great throwing the ball and had a nice looking deep ball. They were both inaccurate, and threw interceptions. Say what you want about Testeverde....that's your opinion. The argument has been made by others that he should be in the HOF.
  18. Vinnie was terrible when he came into the NFL. Once Parsons and Bellichik got him, he turned things around. Yes...he was not very bright. Josh
  19. This is not a post to compare stats. Watson obviously holds the edge in that area. I wasn't thrilled about Mayfield being our #1 draft choice in 2018....the guy I wanted is playing in Buffalo. He reminded me a lot of Vinnie Testeverde, who was also an inaccurate passer until he was coached properly. But....call me crazy, but there has been no point in time, that I have ever wished that Watson was the Browns' qb. I've always felt that he was one of the league's most over rated qb's. Now, you have the moron owner of the team, who has more money than brains, giving this guy $230 million...guaranteed, no less...to play here. It's a ridiculous joke even without all the sexual misconduct accusations, to give up 3 first round draft picks for Watson. Mayfield surprised me when he got on the field. He has a stronger arm than most of the top qb's, and early on, was very accurate. With the injury and lack of confidence that was obvious last season, he struggled. Haslam has proven, once again, that the Cleveland Browns are by far, the most dysfunctional professional sports team on the planet. This latest fiasco is not going to end well. I can only dream that with all this crap, that somehow Haslam comes to his senses and sells the team. I've been a fan sine the early '60's, and remember this franchise being one of the most winning and respected. I know we are all supposed to hate Art Modell, but....I wish we had an owner like him, now. I really have no loyalty to Mayfield...I certainly was disappointed with him as much as anybody, last season. But...I would much rather be going into this season with a healthy Baker, than this crap that we're dealing with now.
  20. From what I've seen from both qb's, your boy Brisset is going to have improve a hell of a lot to play better than Mayfield...even at his worst.
  21. "Liars will figure, but figures won't lie..."
  22. Mayfield has always had an attitude to the point of being obnoxious and embarrassing. If you decided to move on, why not bench him last season, when he's injured? That would have been a perfect opportunity to start the process. They're stuck for the $19 million, anyway. They could have played Keenum...maybe signed a free agent backup...Instead they decide to make fools of themselves...again, ....and pay DW $230 million, completely guaranteed, no less, knowing that he has all these accusations, and most likely will not play for at least 8 games in 2002. Is this their plan to gain respect and a winning tradition back? Do you younger guys even realize what a great franchise this once was? When I was growing up, in the 50;s and 60's, the Browns were among the winningest teams. I've dealt with all the different owners and coaches over the past 60 years...I've dealt with all the bad players and poor decisions, but I've never seen an owner like Haslam, who seems to have one goal. That's to drag the once proud name of the Cleveland Browns through the mud over and over. Can he really be this dumb? He's the owner of a major corporation...a billionaire, no less. How is he incapable of building a winning team with respectability? This is a guy who has let a homeless man decide who to pick in the draft. The other owners must be having a field day laughing at this guy. I'll just say this about Mayfield....I've defended him many times, when I thought he was being treated unfairly. But...he has alienated pretty much everybody who once rooted for him. Him may have ruined his young career with his stupid actions and comments. When a team would rather have Carson Wentz over Mayfield, that pretty much tells the story. So...don't get the idea that there is no limit to my loyalty for Baker. I'm just completely disgusted with how this organization continues to screw up everything they touch. The drama never ends.
  23. Yep....exactly right. The media, with the help of Browns have made Mayfield look like a draft bust. I didn't care for his attitude, but I've seen worse. These people point out the OBJ fiasco...how Baker couldn't get the ball to him. That's a load of crap. The guy wanted out before he ever got here. He couldn't run a correct route to save his life. He was a free lancer that did not fit this offense. Why don't they have a video of all the balls that were in his hands, that he dropped? Baker brought excitement back...expectations of winning in any game. I can't believe how easily they turn on a qb who was the best we've had since '99. I'm with you...I'm out. I know this whole Deshaun Watson thing is going to blow up in Haslam's face. Berry will be the scapegoat...the Browns and Cleveland will be the joke of the NFL...as usual. The only good that can come from this, is if Haslam is somehow decides to sell the team after all the humiliation. I can't even begin to imagine a worse owner.
