  1. All one has to do is read this thread to understand. The team isn't interested in a QB controversy. With every incompletion after maybe game one, the OSU morons would be chanting "We Want Fields" or whoever is the popular player of the hour by the other morons. We have been through all of that. People who want more of that are simpletons. It's a game. Enjoy life.
  2. Pretty much agree. I agree that a O lineman will be high on the list, and where we draft, one could very well be the BPA. RB is a question mark. Hines is a situational guy. If we don't draft a back, we will sign one or two as UDFA. I am not sure about Chubb. If we draft a guy fairlt high, it might mean Chubb isn't progressing very well. If we don't, then maybe we feel he is nearing a full go. If so, a RB room with Chubb, Ford, Strong and Hines. I also think that Berry likes the WR room. I am not sure we will do much more in that area. To bring guys in means we have to cut players already on the team. I am not sure Berry wants to cut any....Bell might be the cut guy is we draft a WR. Back to the Oline..I wouldn't be surprised if we draft 2 Oline players. O line is very deep this year. It's questionable we keep Wills after this year. Something on the O line i would like to see in camp is putting Jones at LT and Wills at RT. Wills played RT his whole career before playing here. He was a stud, so call me naive, but making a switch seems like an obvious try.
  3. A move that can't hurt anything. To me, consultant is like a part time position. I don't know if he is going to be in the building every day. He will be active through the draft and camp. After that...we'll see. I think the guy has his eyes on the OSU job if Day has problems this year. Ohio isn't a bad place to hang out if that is the carrot you are after.
  4. A decent enough signing. We are talking back-up QB here, we aren't talking about a Watson replacement which is what some people seem to want.
  5. I think part of the reason we moved on from AVP is because of Elija Moore. Not because of anything Moore did, it was about what he didnt do. It seemed to me we simply slotted Moore in to the Schwartz role. Moore was our trick play specialist. Trick plays require an element of surprise. Wnen Moore came in to the game, teams were on the look out. It just seemed that for the first 5-6 games of the season Moore was in a decoy role rather than an actual receiving weapon.
  6. I don't like it, but the NFL has a world of untapped fans.
  7. It probably been that way for so long that players don't really care. They know that going in. I am sure we could find a few examples to differ, but for the most part the QB has been the highest paid player on the team since when? The 70"s? 80's? At least the top type QB's. Not a rookie or some guy signed to a 1-2 year deal. I will agree there are times where QB's get top money but don't produce top results.
  8. I am not doing any of that. They are separate issues.
  9. It's fine to think that way as a fan. You can think what you want. If Nick actually did that and I was Berry, I would tell him it is obvious it isn't going to work out and trade or release him ASAP. It doesn't matter if I like him more. You don't fuck with other people's money.
  10. One players contract has nothing to do with another's or their health situation. IMO it would be a dick move for one player to suggest another player take a cut in pay. You don't try to screw with another person's bag.
  11. I think we all do. However, it will depend on his rehab projection and his willingness to restructure. If the rehab looks like a week 8 return, and he isn't willing to extend to give some relief to this years salary number, we probably won't have much of a choice. I don't expect he will take that stance and will work out a team friendly deal. I am a fan of the Cleveland Browns. I root for the Browns over and above any individual player, no matter how much I might like that player. I have Browns gear, but don't have player posters/pictures plaster up on my bedroom walls like i did when I was 11.
  12. Welcome to retirement. It's nice when everyday is the weekend. Sorry to hear about the stones.
  13. With as many selections to be made before our pick and how FA might impact the draft as far as any needs considerations that might come in to play for all teams, I'd say it is infinite.
  14. Greg and I have something in common. Neither of us have ever been to a Masters Champions dinner.
  15. I agree. There guys being hired have more to do with the offensive concept we wish to attain over any real specifics about the position. It all points to hiring a coordinator who will fit the new concept. Stefanski is the only guy who counts. If he wants the coach, then we will hire him. If we found the coordinator we wanted, he would be on bord by now. This is looking like the guy we want is still coaching his players in the playoffs. Kubiac is my odds on favorite to be offered the position.
  16. I agree. Corners who can cover a defensive line who can pressure the QB to get rid of the ball are what made our D run.
  17. Maybe so, but we fired coaches. Something wasn't working in the eyes of the people who count. AVP was tasked with changing the O. It didn't happen and we kept running the same old 20th century plan.
  18. Before the season started we saw reports that the browns o was going to be different and exciting. Once the season started, it was the same O. Stefanski and more on point, Van Pelt can't get away from 20th century, west coast offense. If you look at Watson, most of the college QB's heading in to the pro's, they play a 21st century O. It is shotgun based. AVP couldn't adjust to getting us in a shotgun based O, and Stump can't coach backs running inside zone runs out of a shotgun. We can't expect to get the most out of our O running a 90's offense in 2024. That is the same as a team in the 80's running an O out of the 50's. Time to up the thinking.
  19. If I was in charge, I would tell all teams that by 2030 no team could host a post season game unless it was in a domed stadium . There is no excuse to play the game in crap conditions. Teams and local communities could still have open air stadiums. They just wouldn't be able to host a game. The game would have to be played at a neutral site. Season ticket holders would still have the rights to their tickets. They would just have to travel to the neutral site.
  20. I think all the season awards are regular season accomplishments. They are voted on before the playoffs begin. I know they do it that way in baseball.
  21. I just deleted players from your list as shown about. There are a few guys I deleted but wouldn't mind if we signed them back...Proche might be an example of that. Bryant might be a guy I left on the list who won't get an offer.
  22. I understand. It could still be called a poor coaching decision. It's not Burrows fault he didn't play those other years. If he had, could his numbers have been similar or better? Based on what has happened at the NFL level, it fair to speculate he would have played as well or better .
  23. I don't usually do many road games since i have had season tickets. We both love New Orleans and Las Vegas, so both might be on the docket this year. It will mostly depend on how those games are scheduled.
  24. Yep....Gip was a good guy. We both enjoyed history and had many conversations on the subject. I have also toured the Polk home in Columbia. Very interesting. The tour of Andrew Jackson's "Hermitage" is worthwhile as well. Columbia is maybe a 40 mile drive south of Nashville.
