  1. And to help with that, as well as more expensive, I would recommend vivino. https://www.vivino.com/ It gives very good reviews on just about every wine you can imagine. When in a store looking, you can go to the app on your phone and take a picture of the label. It will give reviews and a good selling point to see if you are getting a good deal or not. I also have collected wine for decades and am in more the drink down phase then the collecting phase. I too drink plenty of wines in the$20-$40 range. Using that app helps me find those treasures. As excited as I get drinking one of my 40 year old bottles, I get just as excited when I find a wine in the $30 range that tastes as good and is as complex as a wine in the $150 range. That is a good value IMO.
  2. And that may be the reason we signed him. By the time he plays out his suspension, we won't have a lot of money in him. If I could buy a 1st or 2nd rounder every year for a few hundred thousand dollars a year, I would do it.
  3. I hope we do something come football season. I don't do pay pal and that sort of thing. I am a cash type of guy. I would love to give somebody a donation to the site.
  4. I didn't win anything either, except maybe a little respect and gratitude from Stanley. That was win enough for me. I walk. I cant do a Stan walk....4 miles....too short. I don't do a Stan Aten walk. Not good for my foot so my Dr. tells me, so I don't do them anymore. I do walk 7 miles at least once a week....that is my Ateners walk. Stan and I talk baseball and the Browns for a good portion of the walk. 118 minutes is pretty stock for 7 miles....we have a good chat.
  5. I am still bummed about this. I just saw a baseball coaching book of which I gave Stan a copy. We both loved coaching baseball. Some years ago Stan had some baseball fundraiser...maybe at the Berea Fairgrounds. I think it was. I bought a ticket to help the cause. I tend to wear cowboy type hats, so I show up wearing my hat. I am strong enough, I can do that. Stan and Kathy were all over me when I showed up. It was a great time. Everybody else was looking at me out of the corners of their eyes, wondering who that guy was. LOL I figured the guys were jealous they couldn't wear a cowboy hat and the women liked a guy in a cowboy hat.
  6. And does it matter? I don't post as much as I have in the past. Who the hell am I?
  7. Going to buy maybe 40 wings at wild wings on Saturday. Heat them up on sunday
  8. No doubt. After you peel the meat, toss the shells back in to the water to cook the pasta. I should have added that earlier.
  9. Basically, you are correct. It's best to boil your own lobster, then use the water you boiled the lobster in to boil your pasta. Otherwise, just tossing some lobster meat in the mac and cheese is somewhat bland. It tastes like mac and cheese with some lobster in it. Don't toss that lobster water down the drain. Reserve it after cooking to use if you need to thin out the dish a bit.
  10. I agree. I want to see turnover in the asst. ranks as long as we aren't just firing guys like hue did. If other teams are hiring your guys to head coaching positions, it mean you are winning games.
  11. Just to thrown in my 2¢, assuming a player could have a equal type career as a player, in other words, not marginal in one and really good in the other, the smart move would be to play baseball. You have a much longer time before your playing window closes, and the injury factor is greatly reduced. If I could be a pro player in any sport, it would be golf. They can set their schedule and take off any week they want and can still be playing for big bucks until they are 60 or so. That's a 40 year playing career.
  12. cNo reason at all that he can't. I guess one way to look at it is they had higher expectations last year then many of us did, especially once Hue was canned. Not that firing Hue was a bad thing. It's just that it usually doesn't work out well once you go to a interim coach mid season.
  13. I agree with the thought people jump on the bandwagon to further their careers. We would all do that. What I like is the way Kitchens has set this up. On both O and D, those coordinators will be high interest guys for head coaching positions. What I like is we have other guys in place to take over. Kitchens like Lindley. I could see him stepping in to the OC role when Monken moves on. On D, if Wilkes moves on, the hiring of Chris Jones looks to be the insurance on that side of the ball.
  14. My youngest son played baseball on a travel team with Jim Bob...nice kid.
  15. His contract is up after this season
  16. That may be. I was just responding to a question and mentioned Schwartz, who I like.
  17. I feel the same. I wanted to be there. We sent a plant, but that isn't the same.
  18. Well said. I know first hand. I am just bummed out.
  19. I thought about going....I really did, but couldn't..I did send flowers by FTD. t...
  20. We might need to have a memorial Lot service next year. I will be up for my final game in Dec....the Panthers game. I will wander in to the Flatiron and hopefully see Ed, Don, Todd, and whoever....I can usually find them in there. It's where I talked to Stanley for 30 or more minutes the last time I saw him last season. I wish I could see Stanley pull up in his "chick magnet" van one more time. I always called him Stanley
