What did the UK do? They have a massive problem as well.

    And Germany?

Their problem was allying with us, having a land border with Asia Minor and the Middle East, and thinking that immigration could seamlessly replace the babies that Europeans weren't making.

Maybe if we didn't have liberal policies that allowed such people to even visit let alone live here, then we wouldn't be so bad off.

    Well, here we are.

You think all those folks came here from Iraq?

Iraq, Syria, Libya, Tunisia. Places the US destabilized.

Wrong, though. My friend was in intelligence in Iraq - he was quite a liberal goofball before enlisting - he told me once afterwards, if the American people knew what was really happening in Iraq, they would totally agree with going into Iraq. He wouldn't tell me why - it was classified.

My dad worked at Nintendo and he said that the things he saw... if things went differently, they would have won the console war against Sony and Microsoft. But he couldn't tell me what he saw. It was a trade secret.

then why are they here? Why do these "palestinians" and arabic people want everyone else to die? they should be arrested for insurrection hate speech because they are vicious, mentally deranged sombeitches.

These people are here because Netanyahu recommended to US Congress to bomb the hell out of his Muslim neighbors on false pretenses of WMDs, leading to their destabilization.

If you don't want these people here, maybe you should stop supporting our government's role in creating Middle Eastern refugees.

I enjoy Last Week Tonight and The Daily Show, therefore I am brainwashed by "shitlib insanity", etc.

He said shitlib "inanity," not "insanity." Which, imo, is a fair description of the show.

Truthfully, I don't want to go through his pseudo intellectual breakdown of the show and figure out where exactly it's wrong. I generally disagree with the premise of it being some "MSM" "brainwashing" "liberal" (insert your phrase of choice). It's left leaning, it's not the ultimate fact, etc etc... but I'm not bought into the insidiousness proposed here. I'm sure the show is paced in a way to build engagement, just like anything else.

Why do you find that so hard to believe? Cue and response is a well-studied psychological phenomenon. Is it really a conspiracy theory to suggest that the corporate media might try and apply it to its viewers? I don't think you're wrong about the pacing being meant to drive engagement, but to outright dismiss the social conditioning part of his argument is premature. These aren't assertions without evidence, you can watch the most recent episode and see the same exact formula in play.

Thank you. Perhaps I missed where you said it before. Truth is, it started this war. War is hell, historically, and blaming Israel for fighting in SELF-DEFENSE as their side of the war - is not civilized, imho.

The world kitchen people going into a war zone unnounced is their mistake, and Israel had no way of knowing they did. It happens in war -  that is why wars should never happen.

Going back, again, the palestinians could have had their own country, lived in peace and prosperity with Israel, but they threw it away, back when Israel became a country.

The cultural rage, cultural bloodthirsty extreme violence has destroyed their futures.

Blaming Israel is asinine and uncivilized.

Israel's gone way past the line of defending their right to exist. That's why most people, including myself, are critical of them.

I have a hard time ever taking any of this seriously. And regular late night shows are awful, in my opinion.

ad hominem. Can you point out where that post is wrong?

    Oh, yeah.

Invading Israel and mass murdering. raping, torturing and kidnapping INNOCENT CIVILIANS isn't an "escalation" ???

How is that the conclusion that you come to? That was clearly a gigantic escalation. Not once have I suggested otherwise.

  7. Other interesting happenings in the past 48 hours

    • Massive anti-Netanyahu protest in Jerusalem leading to the Knesset being invaded by families of Israeli hostages, demanding something be done to get them back
    • Attack on a military outpost in Iran, near the Pakistan border. 30ish Iranian military reported to have been killed.
    • GPS being jammed more than usual in Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan

but iran is funding hamas and hezbollah and the houthis...that isn't an "escalation" ?

why does russia support the palestinian/hamas terrorists?

A distraction to the us to go forward to wwiii.

Bombing a country's consulate isn't an escalation? I would like whatever you are smoking.

LOL...you've sounded like a Liberal all along. Support of a terrorist group that under no circumstances will recognize Israels right to exist?

The liberal always favors "the little guy", brown and black people. Hamas is the little guy.

The liberal favors the black thug because it is society's fault that he has become what he has become.

The liberal favors the poor guy in a dispute with a rich guy even though the poor guy is clearly 100% in the wrong.

Liberals unconditionally favor the little guy, the thug, the poor guy, the brown guy. Hamas is all those. You are behaving like a liberal.

If all terrorist organizations laid down their weapons, there would be peace. There would not be any of these so-called atrocities committed by Israel.

If Israel gave up their weapons, they would be annihilated.

I don't support Ukraine. They're the little guy. But you do. I guess by your logic, that makes you and cal liberals. lol, lmao.

    Which Bridge ?

    * The collapsed Baltimore Bridge ?

    * The Bridge in Cleveland with a "spontaneous" fire igniting under it ?

    * The Oklahoma Bridge that had a Barge collide into one of the Pylons ?

All just in the last few days, may have been another I'm not recalling at the moment - things are getting busy   .   .   .

What you're referring to is the competency crisis.

  11. Israel dropped a bomb on the house of the Iranian ambassador to Syria, directly adjacent to the Iranian embassy. A brigadier general in the IRGC was among those killed.

This is a clear escalation. I suspect the goal is to get Iran to commit harder so that Israel can get us, the United States, to fight their war for them.

on the contrary, when are you going to criticize your palestinian terrorists ??? When are you going to bitch about

us sending so much support to your palestinians/hamas ???

When are you going to demand hamas release the REMAINING ISRAELI KIDNAPPED CITZENS ???

Your deliberate ignorance and anti-semitism seems to be shown via your one-sidedness.

you need to stop FEELING and start thinking. You sound like a liberal right now.

This isn't even outside criticism though. It is a separate thing that fell on the same day that (some) Christians got mad about.

And if it happened to line up with Yom Kippur, the ADL would be calling someone antisemitic. If it lined up with Eid, we might get a truck of peace. The people on this forum who are upset about it are exactly who you would guess would be upset about it. The reaction was entirely predictable.

A decree makes it sound like the trans visibility day didn't exist until this weekend where Biden went out of his way to invent it and officially proclaim it falls in Easter every year...

    ... Come on.

Feels all very snowflake-y to me.

Which, in a nutshell, describes pretty much every religion responding to outside criticism. They've created the Catholic League, ADL, and CAIR because they get so butthurt over people saying mean things about their religions, reasonable or not.

You are nuts if you don't think the intern who made the post wasn't chomping at the bit to declare that Easter Sunday this year is ladyboy day. I suspect that most Democrat interns in DC, like us, were raised in Christian households, but didn't continue to follow the religion. Given the prevailing Christian views on LGBT issues, those religions pretty much invited disdain and contempt that they've been seeing lately, which was also on display with said presidential decree.

  15. 10 hours ago, MLD Woody said:

To be fair I didn't realize this Trans Visibility Day has existed since 2009 and Biden has been commemorating it as president since 2021. These two holidays won't overlap again for like 60 years.

Any Christian that goes full snowflake and gets offended by this probably wasn't voting for him anyway.

And I'm sure he would have gotten backlash if he just ignored the trans holiday he has been recognizing for years. I bet some interns saw these dates aligning months ago and knew they were fucked then.

Speaking as the resident expert on pissing off the religious, I'm not sure what other kind of reaction anyone would expect. Oh, it's your holiest day of the year? Let's have a presidential decree to celebrate dickgirls! Absolutely hilarious, but I'm not sure how this helps him with moderates.

    lol, lmao

I know what you're getting at and I think you're right to a degree. We can't keep having 'threats' strip away and erode our rights and freedoms. We can't keep giving gov't the authoritative control over everything.

However, with everything online and going electronic, we must secure our data infrastructure. If we have proof that apps like tic tok are being used by Chinese intelligence to gain any type of harmful data, then shouldn't we shut that down? What other measures are there? As you said, sooner or later it becomes politicized and 'they' have control to shut down whatever they feel like.

Something truly needs done, I just don't have faith the gov't will use the proper way to do it. They'll design their little bills in such ways that they gain more and unexpected power.

What exactly is threatening about TikTok? That it might have malicious code in it that allows the Chinese government a backdoor into a device? Then don't let anyone who is in a governmental position or government contractor to have the app on their devices (they've already done this). How does banning this app increase our security? Another one is just going to take its place. It's no different than the ban guns argument, imo. No realistic ways to implement and only hurts people abiding by the law.

But does that really indicate that the president has the final say? If I'm interpreting that correctly, a report to Congress must be submitted 30 days prior to the president "proposing such a determination".

I'm sure the demonrats wouldn't want a Republican president to hold such a power without Congress having a say.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4468159-speaker-johnson-on-national-security-threat-there-is-no-need-for-public-alarm/

Congress actually showed us last month how that process would work (link above). A small congressional subcommittee would be shown the evidence of the offender. President/DOJ/NSA/FBI could choose to classify as much of this as they want. Someone on the committee could raise the alarm that "Hey, maybe we should let the public know what's going on." But then nothing ever comes to light because someone wants it all hush hush. Congress will never vote on said action, it's just decided behind closed doors. Fuck that.

I have one sided bigotry toward anyone who isn't an American citizen. You value the rights of Israelis over your own. That's the difference between me and you.

And somehow this is your takeaway. It's all so tiresome.
