And with the transfer portal opening today, news has come down that TTUN will receive three years probation for Covid-era infractions, and five coaches involved will get one year show causes. This is just the appetizer of what is to come this year regarding the football program of Ann Arbor. Just the tip... of the iceberg. This has nothing to do with Harbaugh lying to and refusing to cooperate with the NCAA... definitely has nothing to do with Connor Stalions, hacked computers, etc that is the main course of this juicy story.

🤣 Look what it takes to temporarily beat Ohio State...

Wait.  The LT led the team to championships?  We gotta get this guy!  :)

What me?  Unleash a bunch of blowhard with my excitement about a prospect? 😁

Okay, but it's not uncommon for a best player on a team to be a team leader or voted a team captain by his teammates. Lindy's Draft Magazine says Amegadjie has been a cornerstone of the Yale football program since his freshman year. Amegadjie led an offensive line that went to the Ivy League Championship twice, winning both.

Here's a short excerpt from Athlon Sports NFL Draft: Amegadjie finished his outstanding Yale career this fall, helping Yale win an Ivy League title for the second straight season. He earned third team All-America honors from Stats Perform, was a first team All-Ivy selection for the second straight season and was named the Ivy League's offensive lineman of the year by analyst Phil Steele.

So we trade away an OL and then we drop one in favor of a DE. Any bets on which OL we take 1st in the draft? I'm having to revise my DL take back to the inevitable OL, unless of course it's Ainias Smith.😘

🤣 I thought Cal hi-jacked your pc for a second.  I miss that guy; but skydiving with 2 bad knees can cause brain damage especially if you forget the parachute...

Like I said in the thread "Who Are The Browns Going to Pick at #54?"  LT Kiran Amegadjie - Yale, 6-5 321lbs 37 inch arms  - 2 time All Ivy League 1st Team Selection.  Strong, fast, fierce and agile.  Led his team to 2 Ivy League Championships.  In 2015, the Bucs drafted Division 3 OG Ali Marpet out of Hobart in the 61st slot overall and he eventually made the Pro Bowl.  1 Mock Draft in Athlon Sports Draft Mag has the KC Chiefs drafting Amegadjie at #63 overall to protect the blindside of Mahomes.  Right now LT is a glaring weakness on the blindside of QB the Browns have invested a lot of money in.  LTs go fast in the draft so it might be very well worth the reach.

Yep ! Mock sims are still un-settled with 11 days until Draft day ! Trading back from pick 54, to gain 66 & pick #90 sounds like a Berry thing.
Good to be back. Time to catch up on the world that went away !

Not bad Gumbs; but if the Browns boycott OL - they're prolly asking for trouble.    I liked your mindset in the other thread of Payton Wilson at #54 and Kiran's Amega-Tackle at #85.  That seems more like a football wood factor going from balsa to sequoia.

returning to slick Flug's 54th pick choices 😆

    1.) Being AB's choice..

It'd take a 22 y.o 4.3 speed WR to fall on pick #54? Still feels like Berry trades back. Berry's guardrails would put the younger LB Junior Colson ahead of my choice of local LB Payton Wilson. My believe is Colson won't get to #54 but, Payton Wilson may with injury testing/draft age..

Give me.. LB Payton Wilson at pick #54.. @Flugel Morning Pancake special (cameraman sucks) .. My spelling test, calls him A-meg ! Stinging Bee-hive T, is raw enough to be the Browns/my 85th pick..

I did at one point, at least until they started to cost $18.  It not that $18 is prohibitive, it's just that it doesn't matter all that much.  It's not like I seek to be a Jr. Mel or something.

Understood. I need my day job so I don't buy the magazine/guide to try to be like Mel Kiper Jr; and I hope no one else does either.  It's more of a last minute Cliffs Notes summary of research and rankings of guys at all positions - many that weren't televised in the region I live in very often. For example, a guy like BYU WR Puka Nacua last year or Brock Purdy (Mr Irrelevant) in 2022.  Most of the guys we've heard/seen a lot about are often drafted within the 1st 2-3 rounds of a 7 round draft.  On the 3rd day of the draft when it starts moving faster - names of selections appear and sometimes you don't even see their quick highlights until 10-15 minutes later.  That's when I'm really happy to have the resource to look up the guy the Browns picked.

As for the price, they stamp those prices right on the bar card on the bottom left corner of the magazine cover. And if they're going to over-charge a consumer - you're the guy I'd hand select to argue that all the way down to a discount Ballpeen.

Lindy's Sports Pro Football Mag was only $10.99 so I drank less beer that weekend.  Unfortunately, that still didn't help me find the 6 pack in my mid-section.  Should I put that on a milk carton?  "Has anyone seen Pus-Gut Flugel's Abs since 1982? Okay, did anyone ever see them before that?"

Athlon Sports NFL Draft was a little more at $12.99.

Yeah, but it's been so long that I think that the When has become If.

I hear ya; but he made 2 Pro Bowls in his 2nd and 3rd seasons. His 4th year in Houston they started purging their roster; but he had the highest passer ratings of his career in spite of it. Some of this is on the coaching staff to know why they wanted him and how they were going to use him. Being suspended 11 games in 2022 didn't help after not playing all of 2021.  Our fans don't want to hear the excuses I just gave; and rightfully so. My question to myself here - does this type of talent heading into the prime of his career just wake up 1 day with a Charlie Frye skill-set at age 28?  No.

    2020   70.2 comp% 4,823 yards 33 TD 7 INT  112.4 rating

    2019   67.3 comp% 3,852 yards 26 TD 12 INT  98.0 rating  Pro Bowl

    2018   68.3 comp% 4,165 yards 26 TD 9 INT  103.1 rating  Pro Bowl

    2017   61.8 comp% 1,699 yards 19 TD 8 INT  103.0 rating

This is how he compared in his last year with the rest of the QBs in 2020.

And yet he made the decision to try and run for the 1st down instead of simply tossing it to a wide open Demetric Felton standing just beyond the sticks at the sideline...while trailing in the 4th qtr of a late season game.  We had to punt.  We lost the game and wound up missing the playoffs.  He looked right at wide open Felton...and decided to outrun guys that are much faster than cops.   That pissed me off.  From that point on I no longer felt that he was the QB that we needed....but that we'd be stuck with him.  And this is why I've never been able to bash Haslem, Berry, DePo and/or Stef for the trade for Watson because some, or all of them, must have felt the same way that I did.  I'll sometimes bash the fact that we spent all of the draft picks and $$ for something that we've really got virtually nothing out of so far...but I can't bash them for doing what they did.

🤣 For the part in bold.  I remember Mudfly stopped in right after the trade to remind us that outside of Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward, this franchise has been best known for messing up 1st round picks.  It was 10 years between selecting Joe Thomas and Myles Garrett/David Njoku (who took a while to meet expectations).

When Watson plays like the National Champion QB who buried Ohio State and Alabama (loaded w/ 1st and 2nd round prospects on their defenses); and the Pro Bowl QB he was in Houston for 2 years - very few will worry about what the Browns gave up.

Many fans acknowledge Watson is a dirtbag but he gets a pass in hopes that he is the one to take the Browns to the promised land. I just happen to think he also sucks as a QB.

I won't deny Trumps was dirtbag when he was a Democrat.

And I don't adore him. As you may adore Watson.

Your constant accusations are getting old, but you must make them because it makes you feel smart.

    1. OSU has really fallen off considering they're claiming recruiting championships now (well before recruiting is over). Pretty sad! But considering you can't say anything about on the field performance I guess this is all you're left with.

    2. It sounds like you both don't follow recruiting much at all based on these posts and attempted trolls

    3. I'm fine knowing our coaching staff actually develops talent.

Multiple?  Just College Football since you never post about the Browns.  You do know this was originally setup as a Cleveland Browns Board right?   Anyway, college football pits the local Ohio Team vrs a hated Rival Michigan team.  Right now, Michigan and it's HC needed to be disciplined for stealing signs in the most recent football season.  Of course I'm going to have fun with that busting your chops.  If Ohio State having the majority of wins in the rivalry this side of the year 2000 and the majority of fans makes you nervous - maybe you should seek out a message board that gives you the common bond you need?

The other alternative is understanding it's only me - and I'm just busting your chops.

Medical science is making life difficult for the league.  You can't ignore a concussion anymore and just give the player a whiff of smelling salts because of those damned brain imaging machines!

I remember way back in high school...some of us thought that it was kinda' barbaric of our coaches teaching how to crack back and block a defense end at the knees from the blind side.  They were teaching HS kids how to injure other HS kids.   KIDS!!

The league is going to have to continue to make rule changes to make the game safer.  Not because 'the league' really gives a rats ass about the well being of the player...but because they need 'players' in the pipeline.

Great points!  But will they make the right changes?  Bring the rules back to what they were in the 70s and 80s

The rule changes to promote more scoring for higher TV ratings has put more players in space.  We never saw this excessive volume of injuries in the 70s and early 80s.  There was far more scrimmage action resembling the closer proximities of opposing players  PRE-collision like rugby.  Also, in rugby - there's no helmets so guess what isn't ever used as a weapon?  The crown of the helmet.  Consequently, there's far less incidence and prevalence of concussions. Rugby is a violent sport; but it's set up to limit things that the NFL is having trouble restricting.

When Rodger doesn't want to see his officiating crews calling a lot of holding penalties, passers get longer time to throw perpetuating how attractive it is to get Receivers in space.  What happens in space?  Run-up collisions where the physics don't favor player safety.  As the 40 times get faster everywhere - the run-up collisions get more violent from the physics of it all.  And what happens when a guy like Gronk or Kelsey has/had the speed of a WR?

I loved football in the 70s and 80s.  We weren't losing about 4-5 starters seemingly every week like we have in recent years.  If you played fantasy football in the last few years or so - you'd see that wasn't exclusive to the Browns. Backs like Leroy Kelly, Greg Pruitt, Mike Pruitt, Walter Payton, Earl Campbell, etc were really fun to watch. A few decades later we'd see James Harrison queuing up Josh Cribbs or MoMass looking in a pass over the middle greeted with the crown of his helmet.  And that guy had the neck circumference of an oak tree.

I only see a lot of nothing.

    '98 interview is absolute nothing

Epstein has already been cleared with Trump. That's nothing.

CNN is talking way out of context.

A hundred women and nothing more came out? More nothing.

Now I'm not picking on Watson here, but you're talking about 2 different things. Most women hover around Trump for money and his status. It would seem if there was any cover up it had to do with his marriage and going into politics. I'm not sure what we're talking about when it comes to him and women however as you haven't really specified anything. Watson on the other hand hired women for a specific job, lured them in and took advantage of them. As I understand it. Watson could have just went out to the clubs to find willing women so why did he fell the need for this approach? However, I don't know the truth behind Watson either. I'm not defending either person here, sex abuse is despicable no matter who you are, you just never really know the whole truth unless they had solid evidence. I didn't pay attention in the Watson case and the media would have buried Trump long ago if they had anything.

Still, you labeled him for sexual misconduct for 50 years. What do you mean exactly and what are all the cases stemming back that far? Or are you just talking bullshit?

Fair enough Jax.  I was just using his age and he's had his 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s. You're right - some of that is not fair on my part.  NOBODY knows the truth behind either guy.  I'm here because a couple guys on this board kept coming over to the football board - knowing Steve has forbidden us to talk politics on the football board bringing up Watson is a dirt bag for all of the allegations he got himself into. Cal has been baiting it for a while. I came here to remind them Trump's been a dirt bag to the ladies for a lot longer than just part of his 20s (like Watson's 4 years).

I don't want to be here doing this any more than you guys want me to.  You're witnessing what this crap is like right?  My being here was a response.  In a perfect world, golden rule would work extremely well.  I'll stop all this at my end.

  15. 17 hours ago, calfoxwc said:

If that last line below and the rest of all this was about Deshaun Watson he'd be a dirt bag even if all allegations were BEFORE he stepped on the field as a Cleveland Brown.  In fact you and Gorka have made it a point to call him that on the football board very recently. I'm sticking with that same precedent you guys set right down to all the years before he won an election against a female. Here's some stuff from Wiki:

In a 1998 interview with Chris Matthews, two years before his 2000 presidential campaign, Trump said that his history with women could prove to be an issue in the event of a future presidential campaign, saying "Can you imagine how controversial I'd be?...You think about (Bill Clinton) with the women. How about me with the women? Can you imagine?"[165]

A 2002 article in New York magazine quoted Trump talking about Jeffrey Epstein: "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it, Jeffrey enjoys his social life."[166] In 2008 Epstein pleaded guilty to charges involving child prostitution. In 2019 he was charged with child sex trafficking; he died in his cell before facing trial.[167]

CNN posted a video in 2016 describing various sexually suggestive comments that Trump has made publicly about his daughter Ivanka.[168]

Trump's top strategist, Steve Bannon, said that Trump lawyer "Marc Kasowitz 'took care' of 100 women during the [2016] presidential campaign".[169]

    Good genes.

Last year at this time, BYU had a WR entering the draft that was 6-1 208lbs and not very well known by NFL Draft enthusiasts.  His name is Puka Nacua and he was selected by the Rams in the 5th round (as their last of 4 picks in that round).  More specifically, he became their 8th pick.  Here's a written summary of the selection: Non-stop motor and aggressive attitude helped Nacua overachieve for the Cougars... Good hands and body control... Can be dangerous on reverses and sweeps... Not a deep threat... Will make it difficult for the Rams to cut him, but he's not a game-breaker...

In 2023, this rookie had 105 receptions 1486 yards 6 TDs 14.2 yards per catch.   Against the Browns he had 4 rec 105 yard 1 TD 26.3 ypc and 2 carries for 34 yards. Let's just say we got acquainted more than we wanted to.

Why all this?   There's really good prospects all over this country that aren't on national television every week.  These are the gems in rounds 5-7 that award the teams that put in the research and the GMs that trust that research.
