Here are a few names of guys released today. Just wondering if any could be upgrades from what we have now.....I am mainly looking at backup OL...or WR....or QB or anything else that looks interesting:

OG John Moffit Eagles

OG Mike Leidtke Dolphins

OT Donald Hawkins Dolphins

WR Rasheed Bailey Eagles

WR Andre Davis Bills (not the same guy we used to have, is it?)

I will add more as they start to come out......thoughts?

Id be surprised to see them claim any skill players, unless someone really special comes available......

Really....the only positions Id expect to see them go after are OL and QB......

Unintentionally funny?

"Skilled" no longer a qualification to QB the Browns.

(U)pgrade, ©ut or (T)rade. QB-Lewis Devilin(C or U) RB-Draughn(C or U) WR-Mayle, Moore, Jennings( U or PS) TE-Housler © OL-After Cam as 6, I would try to trade McDonald or Painter to Squealers who's OL are dropping like flies and dumpster fire the rest. DL- B & D Wynn(T or U Dylan(PS)) ILB-T. Carder(T or U) S-Poyer (T or U) CB-Bademosi (T or U) K- Coons (cut and experience U) realize a lot of STers but their position depths causes that factor and will also upgrade ST with better talent.

Any upgrades here:

Damaris Johnson WR Houston

Matt Feiler OT Houston

Kenny Hilliard RB Houston

Gabe Ikard OC Tenn.

Patrick Miller OT San Fran

Joe Looney OC 49ers

Cyril Richardson OC Buffalo

Alex Cupper OG Buff.

Darryl Johnson OG Buff.

......and this guy has GOT to be an upgrade........if he can take out a whole nation of Terminators, he should be able to run through NFL DLinemen, no:

John Conner RB Buff.

This is a different Andre Davis than we had. This one was undrafted. Did Buffalo really cut this guy? I read he had a really good camp; and repeatedly beat Gilbert as easy as breathing. Beating corners wasn't exclusive to Gilbert though. I could see this kid going to GB, getting reps and succeeding there if we're not interested.

I walked away more impressed with Olsen than Seymour as a Center, whom I'm guessing could play OG as well. I think Erving can play Center and OT reasonably well if needed (but not at the Joe Thomas standard we're used to as others have point out). It looks like they wanted him familiar with OG as well.

Oline is a chemistry thing so guys that have barely shared game action together in Guard-Tackle tandems probably weren't going to play their best football with a QB like Lewis and whatever we had left playing RB. Having said that, a couple weeks ago (w/ Manziel at QB) they didn't look nearly that bad. Some of our fans cautioned not to get too excited about Manziel elevating the level of play around him.

TJ Yates in an interesting name.

I like Yates as well, but don't want a third QB on the active roster... just like Chip Kelly...

Tebow... lol... the way NFL Network is acting you'd think he'd never been cut before...

Browns trying to add veteran running back

Posted by Zac Jackson on September 5, 2015, 12:17 PM EDT

As the Browns finalize their roster cuts and sort through their outside options, a team source tells PFT the team has prioritized finding a veteran running back either by trade, waiver claim or signing at some point this weekend.

The source said veteran players have relayed to the coaches their feelings that the younger backs and the offense in general will benefit from a veteran presence, on and off the field.
