Z drank a heavy dose of Browns kool-aid apparently, & that's fine. I won't be a Debbie Downer in his thread, but I'm just not seeing it.

Because he didn't allow preseason football games to bury his 2016 season as early as 3-4 weeks before the regular season starts? A few years ago, the Detroit Lions were undefeated in the preseason before they went 0-16 in the regular season. Back when the Buffalo Bills won 4 consecutive AFC Championships they went something 0-16 in the preseason for those here acting like preseason football means everything.

Well Naysayers, cranks, defeatists, grumps and bitches ... tonight you are likely to see in inspired performance after Hue dropped the hammer on some underachievers and pussies this week and told the starters they couldn't sit yet because they hadn't earned it. Should be some great battles for the backup spots and bottom of the roster, I look forward to seeing all of it.

Then I look forward to the Browns pleasantly surprising just about everybody in the world, 95% of this board ... everyone but me, Calfox and four or five others that are HAPPY with the NEW direction of the club, WELCOME Hue Jackson's fresh approach and are IMPRESSED with the commitment to the cause of the new front office.

These are exciting times in Berea, and I enjoy being able to soak in every minute of the process from the beginning, as I truly believe THIS will be an era that we will be proud of, and so much of the foundation is being laid before our very eyes this preseason.

For once, I don't have to hope that we are actually better than the prognosticators say we are, I don't have to worry about it, because we have stripped down to a young, promising nucleus and every win is a blessing, every step of progress is a joy.

RG3 looks terrific, Pryor has been a great surprise, Coleman is healthy and ready to show off his skills as the season approaches and we get Gordon back in Week 5 and he has looked every bit the Best WR in the League the last time he got nearly a full season in. The staff has committed to the starters on the offensive line, a nice mixture of veterans and youngsters from the HOF Tackle to the learning-on-the-job 2nd year first round pick at center. Defensively, Coach Horton's defense is filled with youth and energy, and hungry, healthy guys that are going to get after the football. Danny Shelton is showing flashes of why he was so sought-after coming out of college, the DEs are young and athletic, the ILBs are becoming the leaders we need, and the four young pass rushers have made the old dead wood expendable. Joe Haden is finally healthy again to anchor a secondary where competition is king .. and it is a big night tonight to see who is going to step up with him.

I haven't been this excited before the regular season opener in years. Finally, we have a coach who has BOTH the tough no-nonsense approach this franchise needs AND an offensive scheme that is proven and he is committed to. We won't be guessing out there anymore ... there is one system and one way to do it, and if you aren't fully committed to it, then have a nice career ... somewhere else.

We have a front office that is squeezing value and draft picks out of every thing they can, and if you are not good enough at your job, your replacement is on the way next year. We will do this, our way, until everybody does it right.

Dawgpounders, the next great era of Cleveland Browns football is about to begin ... actually it began several months ago ... but I've given you guys a grace period to spew out that embedded hate and disgust from earlier letdowns. I hope it is out of your system now ... because these Browns are getting ready to launch, and there is no turning back.

Jump on the train, it is leaving Malcontentsviille tonight for the last time ... Fuck the past, fuck jinxes, fuck the Factory of Sadness, fuck bitching just to hear yourself bitch ... I am ALL IN on this team, these players, these coaches and this staff in this city at this time .. I am 100% behind them, I look forward crave the upcoming progress, it is going to be something special.

Jump on. There is plenty of room in the caboose for those last minute types .. I'll be in liquor car toasting the Death of the Ghosts of Cleveland Browns Past.

Here We Go Brownies ...

Stripped down and going to be built up right with a great coaching staff. A lot of good stuff to look forward to. Enjoy.

look here it is WE WILL WIN the game at philly i'm trusting that hue has a gameplan made up for rg3 to succeed

Well it's still a week plus off but the early lines on the game are:

09/11 1:00 PM
457 Cleveland
458 Philadelphia open -7' 45 now -5' 43'
PHI-QB-Chase Daniel-Probable | TV: CBS, DTV: 708 ( vegasinsider.com is one of my favorites )
Remember the casinos that put up the lines really don't care who wins but try to get even money bet on each side, and generally the home field is worth about 2-3 points. The line has moved toward Cleveland and the O/U has come down for what that's worth.
A lot of close games this week with the biggest dogs MIA +10 and SD +7. So there you go......

Pretty sure no one is basing their opinion simply upon out W/L record...

Yup- it's not that we lost, it's we looked really bad doing so.

Nobody has a pistol to your temple Larry. Go ahead and join everyone quitting on this team over preseason criteria when guys like Kruger got more reps with starters starters on both sides of the ball. You already brought up Coleman's stats like they meant something considering he missed the first 2 games.

I remember back in 2007 when everyone was crying and quitting after we got rathoused on the opener. We finished 10-6 that year only to hear all the same people hiding behind "yeah but we played an easy schedule."

0-4 SU and 0-4 ATS and the BROWNS were actually favored in two of the four games, yes they looked kinda' not great.

But if you had the guts to bet $100 against the BROWNS and let it ride you'd have ended up with $1,600....really! :o

Tom- there's a difference between quitting on the team- and having realistic expectations. Quitting would mean cashing in my Season Tickets, cancelling Sunday ticket, and not bothering to make two major road trips this year. Regarding Coleman- I do give him a pass, but I'd sure like to see our #1 draft pick have more than one catch in two games.

There's a lot of stuff I saw in the preseason that I didn't like at all. Starting with RG III, I'm not about to repeat the numerous flaws I picked up in his game. If you watched the Bears game you going to tell me with a straight face he looked better than Brian Hoyer? The lines, both offensive and defensive left a lot to be desired. Pass D? Really bad.

Yes, it does look like we're finally going to have a decent WR group- especially after Gordon comes back week 5.

Regarding the Eagles game, our odds just went way up with Bradford gone. But the Browns record in openers since 1999 is 1-16. Yeah I know past performance is no guarantee of future results. But that doesn't mean I'm going to go out and predict a win.

BING-to-the-GO...

But I would rethink Sunday ticket if I was attending 10 games in person... ;)

I get all that but why is today suddenly way more disgusting than it's ever been? I'm seeing some tones that the group in charge deserves way more hostility than the previous people who F---ed everything up. I GET where Mud is coming from because I remembered him arguing with the masses (including me before I later changed my opinion) that Pettine wasn't exactly overly blessed by the talent he inherited here. He's merely telling people why didn't they ever listen to him when he already clarified the cupboards were bare.

Back to Farmer, in case anyone is concerned with our edge rush. Ever hear of a guy named Khalil Mack that was on our door step at #4? Don't worry if you didn't - neither did Ray Farmer. The University of Buffalo only played a bunch of MAC teams in Ohio as well as what he put on Center Stage against Ohio State. Not researching anything about Gilbert from his college coaching staff is what eventually became our upper first round pick.

Nothing wrong with being cautious after snake bites but some of the tones I'm reading from fans I really respect are very surprising lately. If this hobby feels like getting cavities drilled without novocaine - maybe some guys need to find a less painful hobby.

All we're doing is blaming people that WANT to turn this team around. Is that really the perfect place to aim anger and hostilities? They've added considerable draft volumes to our first 3 drafts. And all these hotshot 1st round QBs we allegedly had to have - are suddenly just as 3rd string ready to start as Kessler. Meanwhile,Teddy B's injury in Minnesota was the only thing that promoted Wentz to 2nd string behind the prolific NFL passing career of Chase Daniels.

We should at least wait until the regular season has all the starters and situational rotation guys playing together for an entire 4 quarters in the actual games plans with regular season schemes before we give fair evaluation of what we're looking at.

As for Coleman, he only played in small parts of 2 games after missing the first 2. One of his catches at the line of scrimmage that went for 9 yards was erased by penalty by a WR named Pryor who has never started a regular season game at WR. Consequently, Pryor learned he can't be blocking defenders when the ball is in the air which is the type of thing you hope newbie to a position or to the team get out of their system in preseason.

Well, I guess we'll see how it turns out a week from Sunday. Regarding Farmer, with Gilbert gone- nice job of continuing the Browns tradition of first round busts. I've always felt taking a cornerback high was one of the safest picks you could do. We haven't hit on a first rounder since Joe Haden. & FWIW, I'm having concerns about Sheldon. Meder is currently outplaying him.

I suppose it's just cumulative frustration creeping in Tom. Like how could we be this bad for this long? Sure, I hope Sashi, Depodesta and Hue can turn it around- but I want to see results before I'm going to jump on the happy train.

You and I seem to be sitting at the same place with this team as it is constituted presently.. I like Hue.. From the O perspective,,, But everything else about this team , leaves Me feeling deflated. Like I've never felt before. RGIII does not do anything for Me.. He still looks like a deer in head lights..

I want a running game and I'll be happy! Run the ball! If we run the ball we will win games. If we don't run the ball it's going to be a long season with no offensive line.
