Before I look at this I have nothing against the russkies whatsoever. And no particular love for Ukraine oh, possibly the most corrupt nation in the world besides Haiti . But it's good to see you guys are channeling your inner Joe McCarthy.

I'd trade Joe Biden for Putin straight up.

Good. I’m glad you have no issue with a foreign power having zero qualms about thumbing there nose at America and its allies.  Also no complaining when gas prices go up.

Gas prices? So your boy Joe is going to scapegoat the russkies over gas prices in the US? Brilliant.

I wonder what Putin has on Trump,  must be good to hang over his head.   My guess is that it includes video tapes..... maybe we'll find out someday.

I also thought that Trump wanted to expand into the Moscow and beyond    -but-   with Donald's financial woes and his accounting firm backing out his expansions anywhere might be dead.

So in actuality it's Donald Trump's respect for Vladimir Putin which is causing the spike in American gas prices? Since that's the outrage in the original post right?

Wag the dod part 2.

Ahhh nope. It’s Trump’s support for Putin that illustrates his complete lack of presidential competence but fantastic pivot.

It was wasn't it? But if toothless saber-rattling is what you consider presidential competence I guess Joe is the man for the job. We have always been at war with Eurasia.

On the other hand the Biden family has had a long-standing corrupt relationship with Ukraine maybe it's just about the payoffs?

And as far as our allies who are only allies because we pick up the tab for their defense they're already purchasing their energy products from Putin.

I am against the Russian occupation and annexation of Ukraine. So we can count you in the “for it” category?

so, you ready to admit biden etc are a sickening disaster for America?

and that this would NOT be happening if Pres Trump were president?

i like this quote  NPR -

Trump's remarks come as tensions in Ukraine have escalated and the U.S. has ordered sanctions to try to kneecap Russia's ability to do business with the West.

kneecap?  is that like going out behind the gym?
here is more to the truth - Putin and Russia will decide what the west will get... and it will be through the nose

President Trump has vocally supported the action so not sure how this wouldn’t be happening under his tenure.

As Biden’s second year in office marches forward, a Gallup poll out this week puts him far below water in the area of foreign policy, with only 40% of Americans approving of his job.

The president’s marks on foreign affairs are a point below his 41% overall approval rating, according to the new poll.

RUSSIA-UKRAINE CRISIS: NIKKI HALEY SAYS BIDEN ‘FAILING’ IN ‘MAJOR LEADERSHIP MOMENT’

Gallup also found that 62% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy, and only 36% of people approve of his handling of Russia. The poll was conducted from Feb. 1-17, before the most recent Russian escalations in Ukraine.

The decline in foreign policy approval comes amid Russian military moves into Ukraine — moves the White House formally recognized as an "invasion" earlier this week.

President Biden attends a virtual COVID-19 summit during the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in the South Court Auditorium on the White House campus, Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, in Washington.

I think I already mentioned Joe McCarthy so fair enough. I don't know how long we've been chatting over the years but I think most of these guys can you I've always been against the ginned-up cold or hot war with Russia. I have no beef with them and they aren't powerful enough to be much competition. One of the reasons is there stupid form of government which Joe Biden seems compelled bring here. That aside I think we're better off with better relations with them. Much better than to jerk off with this Orwellian kind of fake war while the Chinese eat our lunch.

Psaki Recommends Ukrainians Just Take A Kickboxing Class And Have A Margarita

WASHINGTON, D.C.—As Russia continues to amass forces to invade Ukraine, sources say Ukrainians are feeling down about the whole situation. To help them deal with a very depressing week, White House Spokesperson Jen Psaki recommended Ukrainians just unwind with some kickboxing classes and margaritas to make themselves feel better.

"Listen, I know this is a very sad time," said Psaki. "I want to encourage you to feel those emotions. Then go do some kickboxing, or maybe some hot yoga or pilates, and then drown your sorrows in tequila while at brunch with your girlfriends. Sometimes, that's all you can do!"

Foreign policy experts and State Department officials agree that this may be the only option left available to Ukrainians who want to live in a free country apart from Russian tyranny since they already tried fighting Russians with all the blankets Obama sent them and it didn't work very well.

To help ease the suffering of Ukraine, the Biden administration has offered to send them $68 Billion in tequila mixers and free N95 masks.

Psaki later clarified that Biden has committed to evacuating Burisma executives before Putin invades.

So there’s a term for this type of journalism: outrage porn.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outrage_porn

Apparently it has been a thing for a while with the term “outrage porn” getting coined back in 2009. There was a time l thought NPR would be above such things. Hell, my earliest recollection of NPR was how boring it was, haha.

I read the NPR article. It comes off as scholarly-ish. But it’s clear to me what the goal here is. Invoke Trump’s name, “he’s praising the enemy?!?”, raise some blood pressure, gets some clicks, etc.

When you get into the meat of the article, there’s a region of Ukraine that wants to be affiliated with Russia (so it would seem). Well ok, let ‘em. Should Trump have said those things? Eh, probably not ideal, but what is Joe Q Public gonna do about it? There’s nothing productive we can do with this information. Voting or not voting for him isn’t an option until we’re told otherwise. The goal here is to piss someone off, and that’s it.

I hate this shit guys. It’s selfish on the part of news outlets and borders on destructive to the psyches of folks who take this shit too seriously. I see it as a form of manipulation, but it’s so damn effective that every news outlet seems to be doing it now. You can click just about any link in this forum and see examples of outrage porn. It’s like news outlets trying to keep up with the Joneses and pissing off the entire nation in the process.
