The  matchups with the Yankees are as follows:

  • Game 1: Cal Quantrill vs. Gerrit Cole
  • Game 2: Shane Bieber vs. Nestor Cortes
  • Game 3: Triston McKenzie vs. Luis Severino

Most people will look at this and wonder why Quantrill isn’t starting at home considering he just doesn’t lose at Progressive Field – like ever. That could come later in the series if it gets to that point, but what this does is keep Bieber and McKenzie on regular rest, and does allow manager Terry Francona to play with a number of options for Game 1 depending on how it goes. Both Aaron Civale and Zach Plesac are available to follow Quantrill, and with the extra off-day Sunday, the entire bullpen will be rested and ready (aside from Nick Sandlin, who is out the rest of the postseason with an upper back/shoulder strain).

*READ THIS --->   As for the Yankees, they are are dealing with a number   of pitching issues of their own. The bullpen is a shell of itself at this point, and the latest blow is Aroldis Chapman essentially being kicked off the team after blowing off a mandatory workout.  And Gerrit Cole  despite having a pretty decent overall playoff record, did lead the American League inin homers allowed   this season with 33, and sported a 4.50 ERA  and 4.61 FIP in his last six starts of the year. ★ He’s not invincible by any means right now.

....  NYY 2  CLE  1   bottom  6.   A very interesting game,  pitching and a few HRs.  And then Judge steals a base, gets two.  2R HR NYY 4-1.

....x.... NYY  4  CLE  1,  final.  Well you can put all of the young team learning stuff but the Guardians still  must  win 1 game in NY.

See you all Thursday.....weather  permitting..... for a must win Game 2.   Good night everyone.        :D

Well the Guardians outfit NY  -but-  did not win.   On a playoff pass/fail  they  failed..    Next test  Thursday stakes are higher.

The second game getting rained out possibly hurts the Guardians. Now with Bieber pitching tomorrow instead of tonight, his ability to also start a possible Game 5 goes out the window.

That was their biggest concern you really wanted Beiber (2ĺ  McKenzie (2) in a 5 game series.   Oh well next man up time,  and outscore the Yank$ time !

They've got to get the offense going...

Four runs in three games, its amazing they've won two of those.

YES. A heavy reliance on their pitching hoping to get your small ball game  going again.   It's really hard to try to out  homer the Yankee$  with occasional HRs from Jose or Josh or someone else.  Bottom line is the bottom line win the next one or sweep the last three.

No matter what you have to like the Tito Francona keep it in the task at hand approach and play 27 outs.   Does make it a bit more interesting now.

GO GUARDIANS,   it's been quite fun so far this year.    :D

I would think after the "Bronx Comeback   and   Beating the Yank$"   that it's going to. - finally  -  be a sellout in Cleveland from here on out.

Even for the old  Cleveland  INDIANS   holdouts like me.  Learning to live with the Guardians but still love the INDIANS and TRIBE  and always will.

I think "maybe" from what I've noticed they've banned the INDIANS but not necessarily like  "the TRIBE FORUM"  here, and I hope it stays that way.

LETS GO TRIBE !    And I'd  love to see the  "GUARDIANS "  beat the Yankee$  and move on....even further !    :D   Eh ?
