With injuries to our top 3 pitchers and an offense that is middle of the roadish, I think we are destined for a .500 season. They still will provide entertainment and could even provide a surprise.

As previously mentioned, I really think they need to trade Amed. I don't see them paying another IF big money so go get a AAA talent that can make the 40 man roster and contribute next year.

Shortstop Amed Rosario has been traded to the Dodgers.

It will be interesting to see how this shakes up... You have Andres Gimenez, who signed a $105 mill contract playing second, but he's actually a shortstop. Does he slide over to short? Or does he stay at second and one of Arias, Freeman or Brayan Rocchio in AAA become the shortstop of the future?

Looks like Gabriel Arias will get the first shot at nabbing the shortstop position.

Andres Gimenez is a lock at second with his $105 mill contract (or short if they move him over to his regular position), need to figure out who is the other guy up the middle... Arias? Freeman? Rocchio at AAA?

Might see some trades this offseason to thin out the glut of young middle infielders.

Trade Deadline is Tuesday, 6pm.

I keep seeing Aaron Civale trade rumors.

On one hand, that makes little sense. The Guardians hold control of him for two more seasons. On the other hand, the team should go in to Opening Day next season with Bieber, McKenzie, Quantrill, Allen, Williams and Bibee still. Six starters for five spots.

And Civale, who has not been the most durable of pitchers, probably won't have a higher trade value than he has right meow. He's been really good since coming back from his early season injury.

Astros and Dusty have done a great job of hanging in with the Rangers throughout the last couple of months

despite the loss of Altuve, Alvarez and multiple starting pitchers. They are suddenly much more dangerous as

the first two just rejoined the team this weekend. Valdez became much more hitable his last couple of outings,

so we'll see where that goes in tonight's game.

Saw his last which looked very much like Valdez's, but with far more batters not coming within 6 inches of the ball half the time. Valdez had a lot of late movement on just about every pitch he threw no matter which type he chose. And the fastball kept changing the direction of that movement from pitch to pitch. It was something to watch. 27 batters total with the one getting a walk being called out in a double play. That's as close to a perfect game as you can get without it being perfect. Maybe signing Verlander back relieved the pressure of having to be the only Ace on the staff.
