  1. It’s the mentality of a president who is willing to bully and remove any person who does not agree with his opinion. Trying to force a false narrative on an entire country is dangerous.

  3. https://www.statista.com/statistics/262742/countries-with-the-highest-military-spending/ it’s not even close but again you know that
  4. That’s my point. There was a time where being working poor was almost a badge of honor. That time has passed us and now violence would run rampant.
  5. You absolutely can carry and transmit but like the theory of herd immunity, when these vaccines were developed there was no delta variant and the idea was people would get vaccinated. If you a thousand people who are vaccinated and 10 who aren’t the odds of virus transmission by the vaccinated population is low. If you have a 1000 unvaccinated and 10 vaccinated the opposite is true. The efficacy of the vaccines do depend on the willingness to be vaccinated.
  6. As a person who has worked in various sections of government I tend to agree but my experience has lead me to the conclusion that it costs less to let the abuse happen than it does to try and stop it. Sad but true. Without getting to philosophical, the problem is simple. People are the worst and we continue to become worse. With each passing moment we reduce personal responsibility in the name of protecting individual rights , on both sides.
  7. A barrier is only a small part of border protection. Drug runners have been building tunnels for years. You’d still need to police the border and put certain policies in place. I’m not comfortable with shooting people who attempt to scale a border wall.
  8. That is patently false by all credible scientific authorities unless your “substantial threshold” is 80 percent.
  9. I’m thinking that’s what should happen. If a program is perfect you modify it until it becomes a better fit. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing all the time. Unfortunately that’s where our current political climate has us. Compromise is a dirty word.
  10. I agree but where. I’d like to see Defense spending cut significantly but I’m pretty sure I’m in the minority here. Others may want social services cut, I wouldn’t support that. It’s the system we are currently in. Everyone wants things cut but no one wants what they deem necessary cut.
  11. Unfortunately at this point you can’t resolve it. I think the only way you get back to a more measured approach is a financial reset but no administration is going to allow a depression. You could’ve seen it with the mortgage crisis or with the COVID shutdown. To be honest I’m not sure if our country could take it. We aren’t used to being “working poor” anymore. As things got worse, violence would ramp up.
  12. Agreed and I wish I could even offer a solution. The closest I can come up with is shut the border down but I’m not sure we have enough personnel to pull that off. Also as people congregate the conditions will get worse and more dangerous for those policing the area. It is a lose/lose from my perspective.
  13. That is the only solution. You will never stop pork barrel budgetary spending as too many local economies require it to sustain themselves. When it comes to government provided services the only way to fund them is taxes. If you can’t cut spending you raise em.
  14. I’m all for spending more money on the VA system. Just raise everyone’s taxes.
  15. There is all sorts of nonsense from both sides in these budgets. The Federal Government has been redistributing wealth forever. This isn’t new, nor is it one sided.
  16. When a national Health Emergency has been declared I think it’s appropriate to require what the Governmental Oversight suggests. I’d say similar to declaring martial law and imposing a curfew. I have zero issue with those violating that receiving a citation or when possible temporary incarceration.
  17. Unfortunately based on Republican drafted tax code, the realized tax rate on the wealthy vs the working man is not equitable.
  18. What did Obama inherit from W and where was it when he left office? Better or worse? It’s all out there and you may be surprised to know what W counted in the national Debt and what he didn’t.
  19. Now that my money is out of the market, I agree. Default on debts and let the market drop as we are seeing with the nervousness of the Chinese company who may default on their debt.
  20. I guess that’s the whole point. You either condemn killing innocents or you judge it in context to other campaigns. Randomly condemning the guy you don’t like is nonsense.
  21. Was there election fraud, yes. Did it move the needle, no. Since elections began there has been fraud. Some as small as people not voting where they are legally residing to those that cast a vote as someone else. Locally it could be an issue but for Senator or higher, moot.
  22. Do we want to start comparing innocent kill resumes? Cause I’d like to see W’s. Or are we anti-drone and pro-soldiers in harms way? Again not sure what the purpose of these threads are.
  23. Thank you. Didn’t have a chance to see the game, just the box score. It seems like Baker played better than the numbers and I didn’t know who Hill was being converted by.
